Big Island Video...Rocks!!!!! (Almost said, ...Lavas!). Such great video coverage of all that we experience and share here, with Aloha! Thank You for what you do. - Ken of the Big Island - Puna Strong!
The Kilauea Volcano eruption has dramatically changed the landscape surrounding the Halemaumau Crater. Even though the park is scheduled to reopen on September 22, the recovery will take many months to complete.
There are several eruptions he missed, Kilauea Iki, 1959. Mt. St. Helens, Krakatoa, And there was an event in Alaska that ejected 18 cubic km of material early last century. Ten times this amount. So with the few data points he uses it looks like a lot but historically it's just another day in the life of plant earth.
Christine Ervin-His references were to caldera subsidence, not erupted volume. Kilauea Iki is a crater of Kilauea and did not subside, St Helens blew out the entire top and side, no subsidence, Krakatoa completely exploded, no subsidence.

Hopefully someone at the Park can take advantage of the opportunity to rebuild. It's an organization that needs to be as fluid as Kilauea herself.
Thank you for current update. Be safe and much love

I'm wondering where the park service will build a new museum. The old Jaggar Museum is pretty much a total loss.
Thanks for this useful information . Current situation of Kilauea summit .
My question is..why so quiet about Mauna Loa? I feel and hear her rumble, but no talk or earthquake reports.
Enjoy these follow-ups.

Rosetta Stoned
Russia/Trump did it. Or ET. Or the Deep State.
It depends on who you ask. Respectively TheYoungTurks, David Wilcock or Alex Jones.
A Romer..It's Obama's fault.
need to work at least 3 jobs to live here (",)
Why is the collapse graph in cubic mm?
Kilauea was the most significant for the United States so far.
Aww. The doomsayers are all gone. 🤣
they are all commenting on the hurricane about to hit the Carolina coast... Jeebus save us etc,

He was not referring to eruption events broadly, but to *caldera collapse* events specifically.
Start again at 1:16.

Christine Ervin I don't think Kilauea Iki collapsed in 1959.
They talk like the Hawaiian plume is stationary while data indicates a movement to the south.
14 earthquakes in the past 24 hours. This swarm is unusual.
Fill it in...
Yep, amazing the summit collapsed. Oh that happens to volcanos they grow collapse grow again collapse and on and on. Its what they do.
