Hopefully someone at the Park can take advantage of the opportunity to rebuild. It's an organization that needs to be as fluid as Kilauea herself.

The Kilauea Volcano eruption has dramatically changed the landscape surrounding the Halemaumau Crater. Even though the park is scheduled to reopen on September 22, the recovery will take many months to complete.

I'm wondering where the park service will build a new museum. The old Jaggar Museum is pretty much a total loss.

My question is..why so quiet about Mauna Loa? I feel and hear her rumble, but no talk or earthquake reports.

      Rosetta Stoned
Russia/Trump did it. Or ET. Or the Deep State.
It depends on who you ask. Respectively TheYoungTurks, David Wilcock or Alex Jones.

Why is the collapse graph in cubic mm?

Kilauea was the most significant for the United States so far.

There are several eruptions he missed, Kilauea Iki, 1959. Mt. St. Helens, Krakatoa, And there was an event in Alaska that ejected 18 cubic km of material early last century. Ten times this amount. So with the few data points he uses it looks like a lot but historically it's just another day in the life of plant earth.

    • @StefanKirby

He was not referring to eruption events broadly, but to *caldera collapse* events specifically.
      Start again at 1:16.

Christine Ervin-His references were to caldera subsidence, not erupted volume. Kilauea Iki is a crater of Kilauea and did not subside, St Helens blew out the entire top and side, no subsidence, Krakatoa completely exploded, no subsidence.

Christine Ervin I don't think Kilauea Iki collapsed in 1959.

They talk like the Hawaiian plume is stationary while data indicates a movement to the south.

14 earthquakes in the past 24 hours. This swarm is unusual.
