Learning Together Session - 16 : काव्य - पाठ (Poetry Recitation)

Sixteenth session of Learning Together group was held on 30 December 2023.The session was a literary festival in a way, where members recited poems of their choice and presented their own poetry as well. The session began with recitation of "If - Rudyard Kipling" and "Aaj akhan Waris .... Amrita Preetam" by Prof Indu Dogra, followed by assorted poems by Dr Raj Chandra Jha including some portions from "Rashmi Rathi - Ramdhari Singh Dinkar". Subsequent attractions were, Prof Kanak Lata's discourse on "Kamayani Jaishankar Prasad" and recitations by Mr. Dilip Trivedi, Mr. Gopal Ranjan, Mr. Awdhesh Krishna, Mr. Kumar Pravesh and Mr. Sharat Satrangi. The session concluded with the recitation of "Yuyutsu" by Mr. Arun Roy. As per him, "Yuyutsu" was still "work in progress" and this was the first public recitation of a part of the poem. On popular demand, Mr Arun Roy also sang a beautiful Hindi song. The two hour session was one of the most enjoyable sessions of the group. It was agreed to carry it forward to the next year.
