Love the way you say Pika-Chew when speaking in English, but pi-ka-chu when speaking Japanese. Fully committed to whichever language you're speaking at the time!
I think the grammatical term for the words この, その, あの would be "demonstrative adjectives," meaning they modify an existing noun, whereas これ etc. are "demonstrative pronouns", meaning they function as a noun, substituting another noun. An adjective (この) needs a noun, and a pronoun (これ) can stand alone. English speakers might get これ and この confused because we don't have two separate "this" words; "this" fulfills both demonstrative grammatical functions. みささん、ありがとうございます!
I started on cure dolly. And while I’m eternally greatful for their lessons, I’m finding that another perspective and teaching style is helping tremendously. Cure dolly gave me the mindset on how to look at Japanese, the broad strokes, and misa’s lessons are defining the information while adding more color. I’m glad I’ve found you both! Thank you!
misa, thank you so much for teaching and guiding me with japanese, i just started yesterday but i just discovered you a bunch of hours ago (since i watched a lot of your videos already) and you have already helped me a lot, i now know how to ask or say simple sentences, if people were to ask me who i'd want to recommend on where to learn japanese, i would definitely recommend you to them, thank you once again and i hope you would keep on doing greater videos to help people who wants to learn japanese and i would do my best in learning japanese and i would make sure that you wont be disappointed someday where i finally can speak japanese!!!
I'm teaching Japanese in the US and I just had a student who had trouble distinguishing Kono vs Kore. Your video gave me so many insights! I really appreciate it!!
Lady, seriously. You're the best Japanese teacher I've found so far haha I love the way you teach! thank you for your videos, they've been helping me a lot!
I’ve been trying to learn Japanese on my own and I’ve had lots of trouble because certain apps or RUclips videos didn’t make sense. However, when I watched just one video of you I understood the lesson right away! I just want to let you know that you’re amazing and you’ve helped me so much on my journey!
Your explanations are SO simple and perfect!! After 6 years of growing up in Tokyo I finally understand how to use “dore” properly 😂 and I had just been guessing where to put “watashi no” in my “kono” statements... 😅 also a big OOPS on the Anata front, I wonder how many people I’ve offended! 🤭
Everything I've been learning so far about Japanese helps so much when you finally kind of understand the grammar.. because when you know some vocabulary and the sentence structure, it becomes easy to figure out how to form a sentence the correct way! ありがとうございます!! ♥️♥️
Even when I just started to learn the japanese, i've got no difficulty on this, because my Native language (portuguese) have the same. これ becomes "isto" この becomes "este" for male nouns, and "esta" for female nouns (the nouns have gender in portuguese and spanish) So この車 becomes "este carro". And about それ、and あれ, are "isso" and "aquilo", respectly And with NO, "esse/essa" and "aquele/aquela" ところで、教えてくれてありがとう!
I know this is from 2 years ago but I need to thank you, I've been learning both Portuguese and Japanese and struggled with isto/este/etc, your comment just cleared that all up (・ω・)つ
Videos you make are so easy to understand and one of the reasons why is the intricate subtitles that you make. Keep it going and more power to you teacher! ❤️

I'm not sure if this point is a bit higher in terms of level or not, but I was expecting あの's different use to be explained even if it was just for a little bit. In short, it's often used to refer to something that's already been mentioned before in a topic. Or also used to refer to something or someone in a slightly more secretive way. It's used quite a lot when you're trying to mention something to someone without a third party individual understanding who you're directing or talking about.

It's not hard to understand, because kore is used to ask "what" is that.... or at least that's my understanding from japanese from zero
Kore is just "this"
Kono is "this "
👍
Thx I guess?
it's a bit like an adjective vs a noun, except they're both pronouns (I think)
