Van Cleef and Van Patten.
In a van.
It's *_vantastic_*.
+MrUnite4thechildren omfg
Oh this hurts in the best way...!
I didn't e-van notice till you mentioned it. BTW, inside Van and Van's van there's a painting by...wait for it...Vincent VAN Gogh.
Oh my goodness you're right. This show just got 50% better.
...In a VAN down BY the RIVER!!!
“there was no master ninja in this movie!” I hear you all cry. But consider- this is a MASTER ninja we’re talking about! Naturally, they’d be so skilled in the art of concealment that their part in this movie is utterly imperceptible!
Does anyone else laugh hard when Tom screams as they are moving that worker who got crushed by that pallet of stuff? Every time I watch it and hear it, I laugh hard. LOL
Also, Crow's Crypt Keeper is a riot lol
YES! That's a really great scream. Sounds like actual leg-crushing agony.
Watch the short Robot Rumps...I mean Rumpus, at the end!
i did just now
In reference to 18:42
Are you DIGGING this theme?
Max Keller, founder of The International Brotherhood of Food Canners and Ninjas Local 236.
The short but brilliant 'General Timothy Van Patton' sketch busts me up every time...
"Now, I want you to remember...that no babester ebbeh wub a wuh by dibbu fu hib cubiny ..."
Its the echoey horn noise for me.
I think most old men carry around a ninja costume with some tools and weapons wherever they go. Once you are over the age of about 65, these kinds of things come in handy surprisingly often.
I agree, it's so much more sensible that this just naturally occurs, as one descends into vanside Slavic rodent handling
They usually have a big rod down their pants, yes.
How else would we get you off our lawns?
I just carry around a bottle of Liquid A$$
😅
A movie called "Master Ninja II" is actually just about some kid with a speech impediment and his grandpa trying to solve union problems at a cannery.
and a hamster
A cannery by the docks in a dirt biking town...
Hes from new jewsey
The Dutch ninja always lives in a desert fishing port, especially if he's into gerbils.
@@SwampRainbow01 I mean that part actually makes sense since it's really a goods processing and production town based on fishing and they just so happen to host a large annual dirt bike race which would be a good boost to the economy with all the people coming to visit the town for the duration of the event.
What absolutely doesn't make sense is the fact that this tv series was even made and then converted into a "movie", though I do suppose Sho Kosugi was on a hot streak during the 1980s with Enter the Ninja, Revenge of the Ninja, Black Eagle, Blind Fury, and other films, and I have seen all of those and I think they're all great, I love Revenge of the Ninja.
Master Ninja II
An update to our original food processor with more power.
the "ninja" looks like if Master Splinter was mutated into an old white man...and stopped half way
The preferred term nowadays is "melanin-challenged" instead of "white".
Thank you for your cooperation.
What a lot of people don’t know is that Master Ninja Two is actually The Good, The Bad and The Ugly III.
Its kinda depressing how far americas fallen that union organizing could be a valid plot for a d-tier movie and be treated as an unquestioned good while now every damn movie is about how hot and cool CEOs are.
After the WILDLY abrupt leap from one part of the "movie" to the next I'm staring at the new girl Alisha like "good grief I know this girl" And it hits me. The non-psychic from the beginning of Ghostbusters.
🤯🤯🤯
I think you mean the obviously psychic girl from Ghostbusters.
I'm so glad to have MST3K on the youtube platform.
Also the plant boss who is robust looks like Jim Gaffigan ate his way out of a vat of pudding.
That's just hurtful.
"Still seeing that gerbil?"
I laughed so hard at that back in the glorious 90's. (it's still funny)
Oh, MST3K, you magnificent creatures! I have tomorrow off, I have a bunch of beers, and now I have this episode to enjoy! The stars are aligned for me today!
"Go, Charlie Brown! Go!" Jeez, I'm old enough that that was hilarious.
"Listen Lady!"
"Doctor"
"Doctor Lady"
... ooops, wrong movie
Its not your fault that you’re a chunk head.
@@mah7961 Forget it, I don't need this!
In quarantine I've rediscovered how great this show was. And my hair looks like Dr Forresers
Forresters
So, in the first one, Lee said that after the war he was in Japan with a ticket home and no where to go. Here he said that on VJ day he was at a dance in Hawaii. I'm starting to doubt that he's even a ninja, let alone a master ninja
Ahh the 80's...the time where Hamster co-stars ruled the Big Screen!
41:26: Lee comments "Most people don't cover there tracks as well as they think they do." Joel's response, "They should wear long sleeve shirts" is a reference to "tracks" as the marks left behind from drug addicts repeatedly injecting themselves.

Holy shit I can't believe I missed that! Sorry for the 3 year response tho lol

Thank you for your detailed explanation
obviously
"Ah, this is my elderly gentleman friend."
"I lost my hand in a fish chopper."
So this is the origin story of Helen from "Wings"?
Had the "Manos": The Hands of Fate show been done earlier, can one imagine the fun the MST writers could have had with all "The Master" references out of both Master Ninja 1 & 2?
Don’t you EVER mentioned Manos. There are children watching for crying out loud! 😂🤮
This movie is better than I thought it would be judging by the title.
"Remember when you used to get good work, Dave?" To be fair, this episode ran before NCIS debuted, so little did Tom Servo know ...
1:14:27
"Wait, I thought he turned that light off."
LMAO
I find it funny how George Lazenby plays a character named Mallory, which is also the name of the M played by Ralph Fiennes in the actual James Bond films.
"Be careful! I'm wealthy!" Oh dear lord is there anything more reliably hilarious than the MST3k crew(s)....
Thank you, Shout Factory, for sharing this funny episode in great quality! You really are appreciated.
"Edward James Olmos"
"Almost."
It took me 3 days to watch all three episodes of Master Ninja II!
"This is my elderly gentleman friend" LOL
7:57 The Blue Man Group does perform in groups of 3, but there are more than 3 people who play them.
To quote J. Elvis from "East Meets Watts":
I haven't seen Kung Fu action like this since housekeeping found David Carradine.
😂
OK, we got George Lazenby, David McCallum, & Lee Van Cleef to commit.
OH, were in! This is going to be great!. Is it going to be a throw back to those
classic 1960s detective and spy TV shows?
Who is going to be the lead? Timothy Van Patten and his pet hamster.
his aunt joyce had to be sleeping with the casting director
bro Tom Servo describing his van design has me rolling over here lmaoooo the voice
18:42 Make sure you really lift him hard and twist his neck in the process....I lost it when Tom screamed. 😂
My favorite saying chasing a gazelle on a pogo stick .haha why would u lol
Guys, annotations disappear too fast, at least for me. Thanks by the way for adding context to your comments. You are the best.
Hah man, the opening skit in this takes me back. I used to to improv theater in school as a kid, and we'd do the thing where you'd try and get the audience to give you 3 things you had to incorporate into the skit.
gosh, crystal bernard is adorable.
Missed Reference @ 1:24:56
"Hey, the Average White Band's up there."
Average White Band was a 70s rock/funk band led by saxophonist Roger Ball
A pity they never dealt with Godfrey Ho's ninja movies.
9:00 "Make big money at home" Is a reference to infomercials. Specifically the Sally Struthers one I think.
47:42 "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" was a short story by Alan Sillitoe before it was a movie.
and an Iron Maiden song
46:32 - Putting your coats on the top peg is a paraphrase of a part in "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life" where a boarding school teacher (played by John Cleese) gives his students a series of incredibly complicated instructions before beginning his sex-ed lessons.
1:24:56 - The Average White Band is a Scottish funk band whose most famous song is the saxophone-heavy near-instrumental "Pick Up the Pieces."
28:32 Is she ordering pizza delivery...to a restaurant?
OMG so happy I found this channel.
MST3K RULES ALL!!
The worst scenes at the end always slay me, this one is particularly hilarious! 🤣
Watching this classic while baking peppernuts for Christmas: perfect!
Keep the peppernuts, toss the movie! 🤮
Lee Van Cleef? Wow...a great bad ass villain in all of his cowboy flicks. Because of all the hats, never appreciated how bald he was.
1:29:35-ish..."We crashed the gate doing 28 (or even aught-8 or zero-8)"...from C.W. McCall's "Convoy", 1975; Original lyrics "crashed the gate doing 98"...with all three chiming in with "we got a one-truck convoy"
13:26
I was waiting for them to mention that Peanuts special the entire race sequence.
"aaarrrghhhhh!!! Don't move me , arrrggghhhhh!!!! ". Lmao
46:32 A line spoken by John Cleese in a skit in the movie "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life".
32:02 "And a whole pie..."
LOL
Fun fact: In order to prepare for this role, Lee Can Cleef met with "Kung-Fu" star David Carradine, and both men practiced honing their martial arts skills by felching gerbils and practicing auto-erotic asphyxiation.
Grasshoppers 😂
19:29 “Take off your belt, put on this ballet tutu, and bend over the desk, mister!"
I don't know if you missed any references, but perhaps when you brought up Space Ghost, you should have mentioned that he interviewed Joel.
17:40 My favorite Riff of this episode by far is when the Dock Worker guiding the Heavy Pallet says,"Right on my Head,That's it."
Hand, not head
Is it weird that I kind of enjoy this?
No
No, Lee Van Cleef makes anything 150% cooler
Biosphere 2 jokes never fail to humor me.
Ba, Baba, ba bababaa
Ba, Baba, ba bababaa
Master Ninja Theme Song!
0:26
literally 2020 and this is the first time I realized that Joel was already inventing silly things on earth.. is it implied that he was annoying and that's why they sent him to space?
amazing
Look at all the things he can do with a spyrograph!... XD
Skeletor's sister shellytor, that got me!
Did they crash a real E-type Jaguar? HERESY!
Woohoo! It ain't Cornjob Helper, but it's still fun to throw across the table! :D Wait....
At time 49:50 Tom whispers "kicks." I think he's referencing lines from the movie "Wild Rebels" (MST3K episode 0207).
wow, i just saw that one before watching this one. i think ur right
Also Mr. B Natural!
Missed: 33:59 "Ol' Black Eyes is back" is a play on Sinatra's return line 'Ol' Blue Eyes in back.'
one annotation you missed was when they reference Ali. He did "lose" to an old lady in the ring lol
Huh. That conveyor belt buffet reminds me that they actually have these sushi places where the dishes are on a conveyor belt, and you just pick what you want as it passes by you.
I think I saw one in a video once but never in real life
Annotation: At 46:33, Joel says, "Before you put your coats on the top peg," which is a reference to the segment "Growth and Learning" from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.
18:45 on, in the factory oddly made me wanna watch 'Twin Peaks'
You've got to goooo where the hamster gooooes
You're a NINJA
53:17. WHAT'S THIS?!?! That had me rolling on the floor. Wow. Did we miss something!!!! hahahaha
Thank you 🙏
I wonder if Lee found that hamster to be a better costar than Van Patton.
😂
46:00 - 'Before you put your coats on the top peg.' - a reference to Monty Python's THE MEANING OF LIFE in which John Cleese proceeds to list a confusing list of directions for the boys in his classroom. Followed by a hilarious skit on sexual education.
So this movie is On the Waterfront, but with dirt bike racing and ninjas? Sign me up!
"you didn't let me be! that potato!"
1:14:16 a Sixfinger was a 1960's toy that looked like a finger and shot several different projectiles. Seriously. It was marketed as a spy device lol. The commercial is on RUclips... it's a must-see.
I just tormented myself with Master Ninja I. Oh boy.....
She was in the sitcom Wings.
28:32
Could be a loose reference to Play it Again Sam where Tony Roberts is always calling somebody to let them know where he & Woody Allen are
One of my favorite episodes
The lead bad guy is so good he makes Lee Clambeef look like a clown
Fun fact Crystal Bernard (Carrie Brown) starred in Slumber Party Massacre 2.
And Wings
"I'll wear that strapless Ed Ansner!" 🤣🤣🤣
The most likable character in this film is the hamster.
What does “Turn Down Lights (where applicable)” mean? Where would that not be applicable?
Anger is a celebrity! More than 20 years before Inside Out! Was Lewis Black famous at all when this episode originally aired? I know that by 1997 MST3K was off Comedy Central with Joel already having left
+Scott Sandler Rhythm is a dancer!
I didn't think I'd ever care less about the plot of a movie when I watched Master Ninja I. That was until I watched Master Ninja II. Seriously, was the Writers Guild on strike or something?
RIP Master Ninja Van Cleef....you magnibicent babister
Welcome back MST3K !!!
1:19:26
Joel: Flying on the ground is wrong
A reference to a kind of boring song by Neil Young of that name.
Was Frank Frazetta big with the dudebro scene back in the day...?
Man, we've got Lee Van Cleef, David McCallum, George Lazenby (I tell you this building is UNSAFE!), and Captain Thorpe from Baywatch! It's a real who's-who of... names we pulled out of a hat.
18:13 The "Stan Lee" line seems like it might be more a reference to Stanley Hand Tools, the popular manufacturer of . . . well . . . hand tools than to the comic book creator - although Van Cleef did bear a passing resemblance.
i don't know if i should watch this b/c i've never seen "master ninja 1" - afraid i'll be lost.
