Right next the 405 and US 1, Topanga State Park is one of the biggest state parks within city limits in the country. It has an array of landscapes varying from chaparral to broad leaf and grasslands. One of its most striking features is Eagle Rock, located on the northern side of the park, near Trippet Ranch. I highly recommend doing this hike in the spring when the wildflowers are out; they can illuminate your experience.

Deranged Survival Much thanks! Glad you could watch
Another perfect video!
Teds Outdoors HoodCraft Survival Thanks Ted!
I've been binge-watching your hikes and am going to some of them as soon as I can line it up. I live about a mile from Topanga, but about 10 miles North, and have been there often, even before there was a park. There are a lot of beautiful hiking and even camping areas in and around Topanga State park. BTW, are those old ski poles you're using? Great idea!
Hey!! I just discovered your channel, and I love these style videos. So pretty in California... a tough place to hike in the sun!! But well done!!
Fellow RUclips from Canada!!
Craig Sephton Thanks much! It can get pretty hard to hike in SoCal during the summer, winter's really where its at down here. -Thomas
No kidding, it's ridiculously nice during the winter for any sort of outside activity... with occasional rain day. Is there many raining days during the winter in SoCal?
Craig Sephton There's more rainy days in the winter than there are in the summer... but still not too many, haha -Thomas
Gosh darn lucky is what that is!
Very interesting channel! THANK YOU
webcamappennino Thanks for watching! Are you based out of the SoCal region too?
AdventureArchives Hi, I'm Italian! :)
I'll be there in a month coming in from Ohio. Taking the Musch trail to Eagle Rock. Any tips or suggestions?
Just went yesterday, that stream isn’t there no more
I'll be going here this weekend with the wife. Any tips? We're from Orange County.
+Jimmy Vo Hey Jimmy, sorry we didn't get to your comment in time! How did your hike end up going? And let us know if you have any other questions.
+AdventureArchives beautiful but very dry brother. We need the rain in So Cal badly.
Ah i was just there :)
AdventureKatz Are you from the California area??
-- Thomas
nah i was just visiting. I'm from NY
Its what you make of it.
Is the Milky Way visible at night >?
+Ricky Monterrosa We didn't stay long enough to check, but personally, I doubt it. We were too close to the city for there to be that little of light pollution. If you wanna see the Milky Way, I do suggest a few alternative places near LA:
Red Rock Canyon State Park (approx 1.5 hours): ruclips.net/video/cKnztmc64pQ/видео.html
Wind Wolves Preserve (approx 1 hour): ruclips.net/video/MgN6DTdtX2o/видео.html
Point Mugu (varies on traffic, but its along the PCH) and Joshua Tree National Park (approx 2.5 hours away)
Lemme know how it is!
+AdventureArchives hey ! I checked out Joshua Park saw the Milky Way got great pics ! Thanks for telling me where to see it
Not really. Light pollution here is super bad.

Blackbeards Head I think they're stuck in Ohio. You should tell them to come out to California for a bit, Lord knows I've been trying. --Thomas
