A: thats the role of the Navy and B: stopping threats before they become a problem is imperialist. Besides Australia's military is very small and war favors the defender. Especially a military with a small force like us. Our best bet would be to the "enemy" come here and get them bogged down in a land war they wouldn't be able to win. Otherwise we would have to build a Navy as mighty as the USA.

We need to boost our population. It sucks a little for now but we need to do it. Also since Australia has started to put more money in defense. Manufacturing has gone up 8 percent. Inflation is destroying other countries more than us. We have a lot of laborers compared to older countries. I think in the future having a bigger skilled population makes sense. We've always been good in mining and agriculture but it's time to up our manufacturing and bringing skilled legal migrants is a good idea, just hopefully in the future housing is more accessible and laborers catch up.

    • @AnarchyEnsues

    • @jarkinmalarkin
      @jarkinmalarkin Год назад

@@AnarchyEnsues I know we don't. Once inflation goes down and interest rates go down we have an already skilled labour force to supply new houses. I didn't say we had a skilled labour shortage but we do have a skill shortage from doctors to what we really want is more skilled engineers. Yes Australians want to keep people out of our very lucky country. The thing is like I said we have been lucky in our resources and agriculture but it's time to start manufacturing things. For example we produce 50 percent of legal opium and sell it to another country and buy it back as morphine to anesthetics for way more. We sell our iron and then we buy it back in the form of a tank or whatever for way more. We need people to get our resources and manufacture it here. We only had 5 percent manufacturing. We have got it to 13 percent but to have more manufacturing we need more skilled people in business, engineers and so on. We are known as lucky but also lazy for that reason. Most countries would kill to have our resources but they don't so they rely on manufacturing. In the world we have the most millionaires per Capita, we have the smallest population out of the g20 countries and our GDP is ranked 13th which is insane. Our manufacturing has to go up. Just the state of Victoria is the same size as the u.k but it's 7 million population compared to 60 something million. So we have room. We are also isolated so we can bring in more people that are legal immigrants and not illegal immigrants. I'm just saying the evolution of Australia is to have more people and more manufacturing and in all of us would be richer than u.k which has the 5th highest GDP. I want to not get ripped off for our resources and also have a GDP like a g7 country. We need a higher population with the right people. I'm surprised there are no billionaires that want to turn western Australia into Dubai or even if you travel the east coast there are a lot of pockets which are beautiful but the houses and the area looks incest. Australia has the potential to be even richer and the only way that is is with a bigger population. If we don't where just gonna run on resources what has done us just fine but like we are we got to start making things here and have a better posture to the world. For example some Australians invented wifi but we sold it, they get kick backs but America can claim it. I just think it's time to boost manufacturing and the support that goes with it. To do that we need more people. Once this year is over or mid next year and our economy is back to normal I'm all for keeping our ideas here and our resources here. We can't do that with 25 million people.

Fire management , marksmanship , reconnaissance , ambush , patrolling & armoured vehicles hunting packs ect . anything goes if it makes it past or flanks our professional forces.
This burns inside of me , I want this to be my hobby ! It already is my hobby but I’m doing it by myself, IMO it should be a totally normal thing & encouraged & rewarded with tax incentives on equipment bought.

Because those guy’s had work ethic & bush skills & a pride / honour that’s lacking today.
AND basically most men already had CMF pre training & school cadets , had been shooting rifles since they were young boys.
Not like the gender confused, soft entitlement people of today.
And yes as a citizen militia rifle that works inside most state laws a Lee Enfield is basically a perfect platform.
A few minor changes & different cartridge , better sighting attachments , stock & length is a fantastic.
We are so far behind the 8ball ! a volunteer service with flexibility of peoples work / life arrangements
Would certainly bring forward the proud & passionate people, supplying their own kit & own rifles & open cartridges to compete against one another. That would eventually hi light the best rifles , cartridges , tools & kit ect . That would also inspire business to start producing locally manufactured products, and create handloaders out of everyone that remotely serious. This is what we need for a in-depth onion ring defence of Australia IMO.
I ‘ve seen the passion in the people playing gel blasters , decked out in all of their gear spending thousands of $ on only QLD allows that hobby . I couldn’t help but think of the lost & wasted resources in these boys & girls, they have drones & radios & work in teams .
Instead of all of that money going to China & all of that gear being Chinese crap . For very little more that could be proper battlefield ready kit & equipment.

LOL don't be fooled - if you go in as an OR ( aka Pvt) - you have NO choice on ANYTHING. You will be posted/shafted to wherever they need soldiers. If you are married - you will have no real choice on where and what house you live in. And when it comes to future postings - it is totally based on what unit needs soldiers. So for 99% of soldiers, you will have no choice on where you get posted. The ARA in the next 10-20 years will NOT be in a position of war, so all you will be doing is stupid war games and exercises. If you are in a "frontline" unit say 1 RAR or 2 CAV etc you will spend 3-6 months out on exercise - away from family and wife. And when in "barracks" - you will be doing bullshit boring stuff. If you honestly want to join the Army - then try as an Officer through RMC Duntroon or ADFA. If you don't get in, then seriously think of another profession. The Army doesn't give 2 schitts about you - just look how over the last 20 years how all the veterans from the Iraq/Afghan war have been treated by both the Army, the Veterans Affairs, and the Government..... They ( the soldiers/veterans) have been treated like scum. SO look at how they have been treated before you join the Army. The only soldiers that are treated well are officers. Don't waste your life. There are a tonne of better options for jobs. The Army sucks. The person 1 rank above you can make your life hell. You have NO CONTROL over anything. And being promoted, or getting on courses etc ( ie: to further your career ) is 100% dependent on if you are in the good books with your CPL or SGT and LT..... It is a massive gang and 99% of the soldiers are stupid, non educated idiots, and extremely immature. The Army is mostly 17-25 year olds - super immature, and idiots. They only care about going out and effing women, drinking and acting like idiots. They act like kids and the Army encourages drinking - alcohol and spirits are cheap on base. In a nutshell - unless you can become an Officer, do NOT join the Army. Do not waste 4-5 years of you life. The Military couldn't give 2 schitts about you. And yes I served for 13 years.....

So much of the army will now be on foot going into battle. The so called defence review is just a means of shuffling money around and fudging of numbers to hide the labor's virtual spending cuts. There was no new money for defence in the budget, which is strange when in the review paper said we are facing the biggest military threat since ww2. 2% of GDP is not enough. It sucks because other countries inflation we can't get anything until 2025. Himars, better missiles for our jets and navy, 150 tanks, apaches and black hawks.
I hope we don't just throw away our attack helicopters we already have when we get the new choppers, we can get software upgrades and the taipan and tiger I think are ranked 5th in the world as attack helicopters go. I just think Australia is so big, helicopters are a huge deal compared to tanks, especially that we have bae systems Australia has made helicopter drones to fly with helicopters, also we have the f35s it's time to start making the Boeing ghost bat drone fly with the f35s. Also hypersonics we can be working on until the procurements at the top in 2025. In other words before 2025 upgrade software to our choppers, hypersonic research and combining drones with choppers and jets should be our focus for the next year and a half.
I do think we should have a course like Ukrainians are given. With slightly less restrictions. civilians should be allowed to do the same course. The Ukrainians for example who are getting trained are over weight, criminal records, mh issues and are too old. I think it would be a good course for Australian civilians to do now who don't tick all the boxes for the regular infantry. It's better for civilians to learn some combat experience instead of waiting until it's too late.
Also now nioa owns barrett why don't they make a gen 3 Barrett recc7 in creed more. Barrett makes an awesome AR and assault rifle and our special forces are still using a m4 with a troy rail and kac accessories when an Australian owned company like Barrett can make a better m4 type gun.
