@@WaveFlightSimulations TAG-E is a unit/squadron of 2CDO that is also maned by members of the RAN CD that have passed the CDO selection course. TAG-W is a unit/squaron of SASR. Special Forces Training Center (SFTC) is the training center for all ADF SF units other than the SASR so it will be active so long as we have special forces (SF)! Members from 2CDO and SASR rotate in and out of there TAG units every few months or every year or so giving all members of these regiments the responsibility and experience of the role. Whilst in TAG, members don't deploy on international operations which is why they rotate members in and out. The TAG units don't deploy on operations like this as they are an anti-terror response element on Aussie soil. They are a last response after the state tactical units and the AFP TRT. That's why we don't hear anything about them, because TAG doesn't deploy on international operations.
@@TheMegaAsh I hear some guys from 2CDO and SASR after passing SF selection also do the CD course and become an SF CD rather than a normal CD that supports TAG or SOCOMD
@@WaveFlightSimulations Nah, RAN CD are the ADF specialist divers but anyone can become S.C.U.B.A qualified in the ADF. The CDO and SASR are S.C.U.B.A qualified but it has nothing to do with the CD other than the CD are the ones who train all ADF personnel in S.C.U.B.A I believe. Clearance divers are underwater EOD as well as Commercial Divers with the occasional Maritime Counter Terrorism but CDO & SASR are trained to dive just as another way to get to an operation location just as they are trained to jump from a perfectly good air plane! Whilst I'm sure there will be those in CDO & SASR who specialize in areas such as explosives for breaching and minor obstacle demolitions, they have soldiers from SOER attached to them for any major Engineer related duties such as EOD or major obstacle demolitions and if they know they will be needing underwater EOD capabilities on a dive they will probably take a CD along.
Now you suddenly extol masculinity when you need it. Lol. A for effort, but the past cannot be undone by a few media campaigns. It's a well made advert though, worth the money.
2nd commando is not at all like 3RAR was lol ya gotta remember 2cdo was 4RAR. 3 RAR lost it'd paratroopers status because we didn't need it, and the attrition rate was super high, and there was a need for a special forces unit that can could carry out large raids, direct action, with a heavy focus on CQB, they can also operate effectively out of vehicles, helicopters, on the water, and in many different environments. He'll 3RAR have some battle honours and a great unit, but it never was geared for high tempo ops like this lol
We as Australian's we need a year round military presence on Norfolk island, Maybe build a military airfield an put dedicated anti ship missile there Norfolk needs a permanent garrison on it
Norfolk has an Army Cadet unit and a few ARES members....we have broached the subject on a permanent base there and Christmas and Cocos Islands...Labor covered it in regards to a QRF force being able to deploy around these means...not sure if China is going to only land a " few heavily armed" or a few battalions...maybe time will tell..?
Felt like a short to a new Tom Clancy novel turned film... well done !
Haha
TAG East or 2CDO ?
likely 2DO, Tag East is largely manned by them
@@theltlexay Yeh and TAG West is SASR right, don't here about TAG much in the news but their special ops trainin cenetr is still active

Possibly build new correctional centre too - lost of rocks there to break.
@@RobertLewis-el9ub good idea could be used as free construction labour or a military penial battalion on our off shore islands
Norfolk island, has had it too good for too long!
About time Australia showed them who's emu, their wambats koala bearing!
Excellent idea
