    I hope someone picks up Cat. This sled looks like it’ll compete with Skdoo & Polaris NA sleds. First year engine growing pains. All manufactures have problems. Fingers crossed Cat gets you back on the snow quick. Congrats on the new Cat.

    Looking back, a 5 minute wide open pull with 10 miles on the sled may not have been a good idea. Musko had issues with the power valve linkage, might be your issue as well.

      @BackcountryAlaska  2 дня назад

  • @robgoffroad
    @robgoffroad 4 дня назад +4

    Regarding the sled problems.. the one down to one cylinder is likely due to the exhaust valve issue where the bracket needs to be tweaked. If you don't fix it, it keeps binding and cause issues with the cylinder. Did you see Muskoka's video where they put a new cylinder on his due to that issue? And as far as it not running great, remember you are in break-in where it's injecting a LOT of additional oil. It does that for 3.5 hours. A friend noticed his sled used half a tank of oil in his first 50 miles.

    • @BackcountryAlaska
      @BackcountryAlaska  4 дня назад +2

      @@robgoffroad extra oil injection wouldn’t cause the rpm drop I was experiencing. Also Boots sled the blue one broke the case, we found pieces of aluminum in the belly pan, like big chunks. Literally seized it up with a broke crank or rod. Defiantly not just an exhaust valve issue

      @@BackcountryAlaska When you get the engine fixed, I would put a clutch kit in it (wasn't back-shifting properly) and gear it down a little when the snow is deeper like this. The engine won't have to work as hard to get you carving. Those new Cats really like to stand up and that is handy in the trees for switchbacks. They seem to be a very playful machine. I would rip one.
