This was told to me way back when I was about 12 years old by a man that took a boy whose father did not hunt under his wing. I got to hunt caribou in Alaska in 1999 and shot mine on September 10, last one in a party of four to take one. A hunt of a life time. Thanks for the show.

Thanks for the kind words. They are called "century grasshopper stove" most of the ones we have are real old. The newer ones are built a little cheaper but still work great. They put out a real flame so you can actually do some real cooking on them. The new ones are $35 online.
I am so surprised those boo's were not startled by your movements with the camera and when you were walking to that nice bull. They have excellent hearing and eyesight

@@wesleymonske8103 just not possible in remote Alaska to build some sort of cart. Besides Alaska Frontier gear packs are awesome, does wear the legs out though 😅

@@oldie4210 they’re used to lots of movement and noise when traveling in herds like this. So you can usually get away with a little bit of both!

When I go on a hunting trip I have a tent that 4 people can sleep in with a small wood stove just in case of cold weather and to keep my boots dry ❤
