hell yeah got the damn trailer paint matched to the chevy! Lookin slick!
I've been there. And it scares the shit out of you. Especially at night.
When ice is booming and singing it is growing. Quiet ice is what should concern you.. it’s not growing and if it’s not growing it’s slowly melting from the bottom up. I have been on building ice that has jumped over a foot and settled.. pucker factor of 10😂😂😂
Better get some new undies too bud😂
How do u get there?
@@Dowers_chris Felix creek is just north of the fox general store on the steese highway. Fairbanks area
If the ice is white it's alright,if it's black stay back. Dark spots indicate thin ice.
That’s just the sound of making ice, when ice grows there has to be a way to relieve the pressure it’s called a stress fracture sometimes it feels like a mini earthquake 😁
it made a circle...so cool
I've had ones like that sound like a gunshot blast next to your ear finished drilling through and the water was 2 ft below the hole the ice was about 30 inches thick the lake level had dropped a long ways
Having so much anxiety, ecen after reading so many comments about how peaceful and safe it is.... I think I'd cry, then nope outta there.... Although its currently 37°C right now, and it looks alot cooler there. 🇦🇺
Was -40c yesterday!
That’ll make your butthole pucker really quick! 😂 ! The ice makes some gnarly sounds !
I used to live on a lake in Northern Wisconsin and loved listening to the lake ice talk as I fell asleep on a cold, cold winter night.
That sounds pretty peaceful.
Is that a frozen wave in the background or a rip in the matrix?
lol who knows
I remember my first time
Lol
Looked like 2 inches of ice. No thabks
Pretty close
I love ice camping when the ice is noisy! Helps me sleep! Beautiful sounds of nature!
Oh jeez I think it’s scary
Man summons the Kraken.
Basically
Nothing happened at the end or otherwise.
The echo returns from the other side of the lake
Bam Margery is lookin bad these days😳. I thought he was gettin better🤷🏼♂️
lol
I used to love tapping a penny on the metal gutter of the local pool. The sound it made underwater was awesome!
That would be cool
Let the skinny guy drill first😂
Lol
24 thousand for junk
@@Sonjaorleans you must mean Canadian?
@BackcountryAlaska no I mean by the time someone pays it off artic cat should go back in time and build a 700 snopro m700 2004
Too bad they arnt greased hubs
@@mavericmillhone5936 too bad? Oil bathed is the way to go. That’s just a few minutes to change oil and you change it every 10,000 miles
@BackcountryAlaska your kidding right? We got semi trailers and they all are grease and they go 300k miles without being touched, even if they were oil the only time we would change the oil is if we had the hub off for something
That sounds means it's making ice because it's expanding. Well, in Vermont anyway 😂
Could be
Would love to get down that way eventually and ride!
@@AbsurdAutomotive it’s a pretty awesome place
@ you looking to collaborate at all I’m up near Northpole but will travel
For those who don’t know this is actually a good sound. It means that the ice is getting thicker it happens a lot when the temperature is dipping rapidly and you should be really relieved when you hear it if you’re on the ice.
It was about 30 degrees this day. Not sure if growing ice was the cause of this sound
Wow. I have never been sledding with zero trees. You can really hear it struggling @16:04.
@@UTBanjo sure can
One of the scariest sounds!
Right!?
I had to wear 52lb diving in the pacific I’m in my 60s now but still have gold fever can’t wait to find a place hear in the Fairbanks area I mean out and I mean way away from everyone have a 4”and a 3” have been dredging for for 40 years recreational I love it
@@garycraig4277 I just staked my first claim this winter!! Looking forward to having my own spot rather than the public areas
We have got to go get my dad. Oh no wait let me walk back over there and see if I fail in.😅😂
Lol
@youknowtherules 😂😂🤓
Lol
The hoo doo mts (summit lake) its endless, can ride for ever
Sure can
Ice booming like that is a good thing. The cold makes thicker ice, and with that comes pressure. It's pressing against the shores with nowhere to go, so pressure is released by cracking in the main body of the lake. Water expands in its frozen state up to 9% its volume. Lol funny reaction though.
It was only 30 degrees this day, so I’m not sure if it was a good sound or not
Just saw the same sled and the exhaust valve on the cable was not working and taking out the cylinder.
@@kenlane5011 yeah could be an issue for sure
😅
😅
Maybe Arctic Cat should go back to Suzuki and see if they can build something great again! Back when they had Suzuki engines they were reliable and was running great!
Very true!
On that ice you can drive a big wheel louder
Ok lol
Polaris products are full of problems, recalls, and stop-rides
This is the way
@BackcountryAlaska Yes, so said Din Djarin.
We're in Alaska is this
Harding lake
@BackcountryAlaska thank you. I was born up at elmondorf AFB chugiak highschool and lived in eagle River also . My Aunt Sherry Jo owns Guinys old Alaskan restaurant on spenard Rd in Anchorage. I sure miss Alaska Camping n fishing along the Russian River
Break in periods naww full send
🤭
Pretty kool,iv not even seen snow you guys are pretty lucky
This was earlier in the winter. Lots of snow now
Would it not be safer to use a core bit than an auger bit?
Not sure
Is it turboed?
Yup
😂😂😂
Lol
Anyone think the change in how this unit is running has anything to do with altitude? Running rich?
@@spookyfizz it definitely ran better at lower altitude
Cool vid guys. I don’t like Elon Soros But other than that video is great.
Glad you liked it, cheers
You know, this is fantastic visage for sure!, but man, I was so nervous about asking 100% throttle from near 0 miles is asking a lot for anything brand new, and tight with NO BREAKIN what so ever! But, as a FIRECAT owner (2004), I am PROUD of Arctic Cat!! Long live the CAT and hopefully, someone will keep the company on the map ! Thanks for taking us along for the ride! 😊
@@garysmith8455 a little WOT never hurt nobody hahah I had an 06 F6 as well. Got a 24ZR as well got a video on that on my channel
@@BackcountryAlaska Thanks! Do you have a vid of the F6 ? Mine is an EFI F7, spring special Night Fire. Yeah, I liked the ALL blacked out Cat too, it was very unusual at the time. My last ride on it was Feb. 2008. Low snow here in New England. That is also why it has only 840 miles showing on the OD.🙄
@ nah no footage of that sled. Sold it 10 years ago probably
@@BackcountryAlaska Oh, ok....
Nothing to worry about. The Lake is just making ice. 😊
Eh ice was pretty thin
Looking back, a 5 minute wide open pull with 10 miles on the sled may not have been a good idea. Musko had issues with the power valve linkage, might be your issue as well.
Ehhhh it’s fine!!! Hahah yeah it could be, however when dropping elevation it started to run better. That’s why it’s got me leaning towards clutching
I did this on a lake that was actually a river with rapids at both ends. I got through the ice and then realized that I was on a river. By the time I got to shore, 25 feet away, the whole area was under about 10 inches of water. Note to self: do not do this again!
Lol
