I’ll keep ya posted on the strength of the stock subframe mounts. 86 fiero 3800 swap is currently making 500 whp on pump 93 with a VSracing 6766. But it’s running a complete fuel tech with flex fuel and just swapped in a more efficient intercooler while doing the f23 swap. Should make a bit more now on e85. So far there hasn’t been any structural chassis issues on street launches but things could change once the car is on slicks and a prepped surface.
I hung a great big turbo off the back of my 3800 without removing the trunk. So I still have somewhere to put tools and stuff when driving and/or going to the track. But as you said in a previous reply, you car is just going to be race only. So who cares for the trunk? Except the Fiero purists! 😄😉
@@JuryRigGarage Yeah, without the trunk, you have all the room to make your custom exhaust. I'm not a Fiero purist, but I try to keep the car as much as stock that is posible. Here in France, a road going car has to pass bi- annuel inspections. Cutting out the trunk is too obvious for the inspector. And would not pass!😒
I would keep the heat honestly, even still for defrost and things like that while racing. Comfort in the winter. Its almost no cost to have it. Awesome stuff though!
And to be fair, most of the rigidity comes from the rear subframe/engine mounting into the vehicle. It would be a good idea to lose the rear bumper and make a stronger/ lighter tube steel bumper for room especially if you end up having an exhaust that exits in a different location.
New favorite RUclips build. Such a good job y'all
Thanks!
nice im a big fan of you guys and the 3800, im tearing out my sc3.8 for the third time. keep it up you guys rock 🎉
Im glad that I finally got caught up with this build. It’s got a ton of information that hopefully I can use to make my own fiero build someday
Pretty cool build can’t wait to see it finished 👍
Another awesome Pontiac with 3800 power! You guys rock!
Currently working on my own Fiero build, been following you guys for a while nice to have these tips!
The second blower motor was to bring fresh air to the coil and the alternator

Having the trunk for storage would be useful but also removing the trunk for ease of servicing is nice

Those f23 mounts look good. Hopefully I start my ls4 swap this fall.
Thanks!

The rear bumper bar is allready pretty light. I don't think you be able to make anything lighter.
Stronger yes, but not lighter.
Any update on when your next videos gonna drop?
Are you still working on this 3800 swap.
i need cables...
I ended up selling the cables already. Check out rodney dickman's website or california push-pull
