Great video for showing how the plane flies. What I like best is that you kept the ground in view most of the time so we have a reference. Most flying videos zoom in too tightly on the plane so you can't really tell what the plane is doing relative to the ground. Thanks for the video!
Even thou I have a fair bit of different style learning planes but not high-end planes and just newly into the hobby and getting used to RC planes along the lines of the volantex RTF series style Warbirds and also a little larger RTF style rc setups I'm definitely considering pulling the trigger on this Hobby zone Cub because it's such a solid structured well made beginner plane that allows you to really step up with confidence flying a plane that will allow you to have the best of both worlds in safe and on its own so nicely and efficient. Many videos showcasing this RC plane all seem to say how great this plane is for not just a beginner pilot but also intermediate and advanced pilots still enjoy flying it. Just taking in this video here and watching how you're able to just really slow down significantly and still are able to maintain such stable flight in and out of safe mode really makes me feel a heck of a lot more confident as well. More so if one wants to step up and push the envelope when gaining more confidence you're most certainly able to do it with absolutely no issues. Lastly the price is magnificent I think I'm definitely considering getting this next to utilize all it has to offer not only because of its characteristics it has in flight but also the amount of RC plane for the price. I truly did enjoy watching this video and am now confident knowing that you can't go wrong with purchasing this trainer RC plane.
Whassup Gary! Can’t wait for the weather to get good here in NY. I just got my first RC and it’s the Aeroscout S. Really enjoy watching your videos. HFTA! 👍
Thank you for this video, it helped me get over my stress of flying my Aero after a crash and I rebuilt it. Love your content please keep up the good work! Wish I knew how to send you the video of its "re-Maiden"
Thanks so much for talking about the controls as you flew. Do you think you could do a video to walk us beginners through takeoff, flight, and landing the Aeroscout? It's way easier to understand while watching and hearing. Thanks!
Hi just got my Aeroscout and replaced the receiver with my Futaba receiver so I could add flaperones. Can't wait to get out to the field and see it in the air.
I fly at a field West of Phoenix with a bunch of retired guys like me every M,W,F. Mostly foamies. During each session someone yells "Scout flight" and we race them around the pattern. To see 6 or 7 Scouts ripping around the field is amazing. I tape a crepe paper ribbon on the stabilizer so I don't start flying some other guys plane...lol.
I just hit this plane and unfortunately the nerves got the better of me and a crashed it..😢fortunately I was able to piece her back together, glad you had better luck, I'm watching for tips lol😂
Gary, you have the flight timer set to turn on and off at about 1/4 throttle. That's why your radio keeps saying "timer start", "timer stop". You can set it to only trigger once, so you don't keep hearing it. Just an FYI =) Nice flight of course, with one of my favorite planes.
Scott, I actually prefer it this way. I will attempt to remember to turn the volume down before my next video. I didn't realize it was bothering anyone. I barely notice it because I always fly this way. 😀✈👍
Gary, if this plane came with flaps I'd be 100% sold on it as my next plane. Having flaps on my UMX Turbo Timber has spoiled me. I'm thinking now that for my 77th BD in August I'm getting either the Aeroscout or some STOL like bird... maybe the Carbon Cub, the Maule or one of the Timbers?
I absolutely love the Aeroscout I got the T 720 trainer it flew great first several flights then the elevator servo went out so I swapped the rudder servo to the elevator and it worked good for several more flight's now the elevator servo went out so no more flying for me till I can order some better servos Wish I would have just saved my money and got the Aeroscout but I wanted to fly so bad I couldn't wait lol Great flying Gary I enjoyed it very much
Thanks for the flying lessons, I'm yet to fly a fixed wing solo. Question: What transmitter are you using? I heard constant "hyper stop" and "hyper start" in the background. Due to slow speed? Thanks for your answers...
Thanks for watching Michael! I have invested in the Spektrum IX12 because I do fly so often and have so many planes. This IX12 has a huge memory and is able to save all of my models.
New flyer here, just bought one of these. I found that on my first flights the beginner mode is so restricted in the rates that it's hard to make a turn. Got pretty worried that it was not coming around for me, rudder is necessary to turn it this tight for sure.
Could flaperons be programmed into that particular reciever with a DX8 gen2? I have this same plane but havent been able to do it because nothing in the planes manual and the DX8 manual isnt specific that I can see.
It sounds doable. I would think you just need each of the ailerons on separate channels and the rest is done in the radio. Sorry I can't help more but this isn't something I have ever done. 😀
Adding the streamer to the tail of the plane, does that help you with visibility? I’m thinking of getting into RC Planes and thought the streamer is a great idea.
Hi Gary, thanks for these videos, I replaced my rudder servo after a crash and I lost the first tiny screw that holds the servo arms down. you have any idea where else I can get that screw? they are back ordered on horizon hobby. Thanks HFTA
Sorry JP! I normally just pull out an older servo and steal the screw out of it. I realize this is likely your only plane. Did you check the box to see if the new servo came with any?
Would this go ok in say 8 or 10kn with ridge lift ? I've ordered one as my first rc plane, hoping to mimic where I used to paraglide. Obviously there are better dedicated gliders, but be nice to fly with very little throttle over our local ridge. :) thanks
The DXe is considered a full range transmitter. I would think it is the same as other Spektrum DX transmitters. I always say it will reach farther than I can see.
After maiden-ing several of these, & not having one of my own, I bought 1 last week. Got bored fast on 3s, so I thot modification time had arrived. 1st was a 4s. HUGE improvement, but definitely NOT for 1st time flyers! Next up, 100a esc, & 6s lipo. (More to come. . . 😁)
Great video. Im new to flying planes (fpv quads 4 yesrs) My aeroscout is very docile in safe and difficult to turn even with full rudder and wing flaps. Have you adjusted the servo throw? Cheers, great flying!
People are always saying this plane doesn't look like a real plane, personally I've seen quite a few ultralight aircraft that look very similar to the aeroscout
Worst trainer ever! I used to manage a hobby shop, I've owned both gas and electric airplanes. Bought this plane to help son learn to fly. It is really fast and you need a large area to fly. I would say it's an intermediate to expert plane. Parts are really expensive to replace when you break them also.

Lovely flying and very helpful commentary.
Slow, low flight requires more accurate flight inputs, it's a good exercise. Throttle and rudder control is probably the most overlooked controls
Thanks,I enjoy your videos! I just ordered a aeroscout. Looking forward to flying it!!! It will be my first "large" plane.
Fantastic skill Thanks for sharing
Love watching the AeroScout; still trying to find the time to maiden mine.

Nice flight and great landings!
Just bought an Aeroscout... wow, nice plane!!

best beginner plane and still super fun to fly.
Wow you’re a great pilot! 👍
Thanks Manuel! 😀🛩💯

I appreciate that!

Sorry to hear that! I did finally sell this airplane but it was pretty awesome while I had it.
Awesome video!
Getting one
Thanks!
Glad I could help!

saw you in Urbana Ohio a couple weeks ago thanks for the stickers
It was a good little fly in. I'm glad you like the stickers. It was my pleasure.

Make sure you are in high rates during beginner mode. 👍
Why not a spring load nose wheel on this plane???
Great video as always
I believe they skipped the spring because the strut is so short. I'm not sure that it would have helped in this setup.

Sweet landing 4:45
nice flying. I've got the gear off of mine. Pretty sporty for a pusher/trainer :-) ...
Adding the streamer to the tail of the plane, does that help you with visibility? I’m thinking of getting into RC Planes and thought the streamer is a great idea.
It is mostly just for fun.
That looks like Charleston SC?
Nope, Marysville Ohio 👍

I think so. It flies very well and stable.
@@IJustGotHere Thank you .. I think I'd have to be very very careful as a new RC pilot. Having 100kgs in 15knots is very different to
Gary, what is the typical range for the rtf transmitter
The DXe is considered a full range transmitter. I would think it is the same as other Spektrum DX transmitters. I always say it will reach farther than I can see.

How was it with the 4s battery? Was advised not to go any bigger than 3s because of the room. Interested to know the difference
Nice information. I
Useful commentaŕy.
what is the size of your propeller and motor kv?
I believe it is a 2306 - 2250kv motor. As far as the prop goes I'm not sure but it is original to the airplane.
@@IJustGotHere thanks i wanna build like this someday, if u have time check me @ mekaniko rc
i build rc stuff just like you i love rc

why does your plane say RC Saylors
Nate and Abby are good friends of mine and they have provided a lot of support over the years. Great people for sure. 😀💯⚓
Ummmm… waiting?

Get rid of some weight. Not the plane, but you.
