@@eggrovr2733 much appreciated! I think my only issue now is memory.. I have no idea if the game is installed on the solid state drive or not (I’ve heard that helps it load MUCH faster), but I know it definitely takes a bit to load any mission I load or make. After your video though it’s barely a concern right now, I don’t mind waiting because it’s so smooth right now
@@spitfire4sergi Unless you have an external SSD or an additional HD you've most likely installed DCS to your SSD. It is recommended to run DCS using an SSD 👍 for better load times / read-write ect. Although try not to download more than 50-60 % on your SSD as this will degrade your SSD's lifetime. Also another great upgrade for this Sim would be to install another couple sticks of Ram from 16 GB to 32 for even faster load times and faster rendering. If or when you decide to upgrade your Ram, make sure to research for compatible RAM for your CPU & Mobo compatibility ect. Fly safe Serg 🦇
@@jasonforsyth5015 Hey Jason 🤔 Sorry to hear that this is happening. May I ask your system specs, which OS that you are using and which cable that you use for PCVR Link?

I'm not going to lie, when you get to 10mins and show us the flat graphics capability of this game.. It's pretty dire! Looks like something from a PS3 2006. I bet it doesn't look £2000 good.. Great video! thanks you for the time you put into it. Hope it helps with my 20fps XD
Hello and welcome ! The GTX 1080 is still a very good GPU in my opinion . This Sim is always evolving and does require pretty beefy specs to run very smooth at near max settings. With your specs I believe that you should be able to hit a solid 45 fps with the settings provided with ASW enabled and set @ forced 45Hz from within OTT and Hags off 👍 I will eventually upload another video that is more relevant regarding recent updates (2.8) ect and how to use OpenXR / Open Composite with mid spec H/W on both the Q2 & G2. I wish you the best of luck Joe Fly safe 🦇 and please try these settings provided , plus lower Textures to Medium in DCS for a better fps .

@@johnwalsh1879 Hello John 🙋♂️ I would recommend my other tutorial which would favor your specs atm. There have been a few changes from updates since I posted this video which at the time worked well with my old rig. This guide does work wonders with my new rig (3080 ti - i7 - 12700 k & 32 Gb Dominator DDR5 5600 Mhz Ram but was struggling with my previous HW. Hello and welcome 😁 Dual 1070 is a very decent GPU combo ! I would recommend my other tutorial though as it is more suitable for your setup. I was rockin the RTX 2060 Super when this and the other vid were uploaded, but the other vid is more up to date with regards to previous updates ect. I have been using OpenXR as of late and I am VERY impressed by the results with the same settings / same maps I am comfortably sitting at 90 fps , which you could get as well with a few tweeks of your settings in both DCS and OpenXR . I will be uploading a video very soon, which I am certain will convince most people on the fence to switch from Steam VR. Best of luck Viper ! Fly safe 🦇
I have an issue in VR mode . The view is all the time in the middle of the cockpit when I move forward the cockpit go to forward and is the same when I move left or right side so I can’t move and zoom to the avionic in the cockpit . Maybe something is not in a correct position in the DCS setting for Vr or steam Vr . I have a reverb g2 .
Welcome Pierre 😁 This may be a silly question but have you binded the re center HMD setting to your Hotas ? If so and this problem still persists , I would validate DCS and Steam VR. Next I would try resetting you WMR HMD boundary and be sure there is sufficient lighting in your play area. Try these out and hopefully this helps to fix the issue 👍 Good luck Pierre Fly safe 🦇
Interesting things to check. I have a RTX 3070 , Intel i9, 32gb, SSD and HP Reverb 1 headset I lowered the refresh rate to 60 (from 90) and saw frames smooth out. fpsVR shows I am doing about 45 fps but after an hour or so of multiplayer flight, I get some serious stutters and loss of FPS. Temps are good, so I'm not sure what the choke point is. I wish I could run MSAA and Textures at HIGH but the card is so low on RAM, it just chokes out.
Very nice specs btw 👍 Have you tried lowering your VR Bitrate ? Also are you connected to your wifi / router ? I found that I was having similar issues in the past which I was was able to remedy with a router upgrade 5g (connected) and a few tweeks to VR Bitrate to 1.3 from 1.5 and possibly lowering Anisotropic to 8 ×. If you have the time , try this tutorial and let me know as to the results. Good luck 👍Fly safe !
@@WhereNerdyisCool You can access VR Bitrate from the DCS settings menu . First go into DCS and click the gear icon, next go into where it says VR settings at the top right corner. There at the top of the menu will be VR Bitrate. I watched some tutorials suggesting to have this @ 1.5 but I started to run into issues with stuttering so i lowered that to 1.3. You may even find that lowering this to 1.2 may be more suitable for smoother gameplay in VR . Also maybe instead of running the headset @ 90 Hz , try to lower this to 80 Hz and work your way up to the sweet spot 👍 I found that after I moved my 5g Router into my Game Room and hard wired to said Router, frame drops were nearly a thing of the past . I've also heard issues with Steam's DCS from other folks as well. I will look into this further as there usually is a fix somewhere ! It's one thing to have frame drops on your gaming rig/monitor and another in VR. Where stuttering in VR can cause anyone to feel nauseous. I've had this experience ...It is horrible . Oh I forgot to ask you which SSD are you using? The reason that I ask is that I recently was having issues with stuttering only to find out that my SSD was starting to fail . Maybe check memory health as well just to be sure. Good luck 👍
@@eggrovr2733 I don't use Steam DCS...I have Steam for the WMR/HP Reverb to work. I'll look for that bitrate stuff. The SSD is a Samsung. And finally, I think an ethernet connection might help!

I found that I lowered the MSAA to 2 and the anisotropic to 8< notice a big difference going from 16 this time in smoothness. I did a performance in the Nvidia setting and the rest of the options default. I'm able to go high and ultra on most options in the game shadows medium mand default or flat. Didn't impact turning grass up. Turned the distance down because it really goes way too far lol. But I did get a blue screen after landing in the Jungle setting on the Mariana islands last night after switching to Steam open XR drivers from Mixed reality open XR. seems more stable in Mixed reality Open XR after getting the blue screen. Smoothing is set to on. seems like a long way to go but was smooth last night.
It really is a tricky Sim graphicly that is :) I found the same deal with dialing MSAA back to 2 also anisotropic to 8 as well ! I also found in Nvidia control panel if you set V-sync to use global 3d settings as opposed to off or G-sync fast really hit the spot. Also I created a save checkpoint so that if I really screw things up lol..I can always bounce back .I still have not tried Marianas yet but plan on checking it out this weekend. It took so long to get to this point where micro stutters in game happen less and less. Thanks for the heads up:) I'm always micro adjusting the graphics for that perfect experience too! Hence the checkpoint :)
@@lordofweed I'm using an RTX 2060 Super atm and CI7-9700 with 16 GB of Ram plus 500 GB SSD . It's my humble setup but it works perfectly for what I need ...but I plan on upgrading to 32GB of Ram plus a 3070 in the near future !
@@eggrovr2733 I dont recommend you to switch to the 3070. I m looking to get into dcs world VR and me and a friend have the 3070. My friend got a Reverb G2 and he says it runs terrible. Sometimes it runs very well and often out of nowhere he get very bad fps drops. I have also read that some other players having problems with 3070 and 3080 and even some 3090 users are concerned from bad optimization. So i think i will stick to headtracking, unitil one of 2 things will happen: rtx 40xx series will come out and will be affordable (we both know that will never happen)... or ED gets their optimization done... :/ I think i know the Problem. Just watched a Video, where Steam Home uses nearly 3 gigs of vram on its own while rtx 30xx users have only 8 i guess. At least 3070 has 8. So effectively you get around 5 gigs of vram in dcs or even less, which is a big problem. So on Paper the rtx 3070 is much better than the 2060 but i am sure that this wont apply to dcs VR. If i were you, i would wait for the rtx 40xx series, which will be announced soon. The specs are leaked soon and they will get 10gb vram +. So with one of those you will probably see a very big performance boost compared to the RTX 30xx series.
@@lordofweed Thanks Lord 👍 I was tossing the idea of the upgrade to 30 series but I've read alot of the same posts. It seems that waiting for 40 series will be my best bet . Hello Conan 😁 I am still using last gen specs with an RTX 2060 Super / Ci7-9700 16 GB ram 1.5 TB SSD. Your specs are fantastic and should work wonders in DCS VR. If you are getting micro stutters I would first try to dial back Pixel Density to 1.2 maybe 1.1 from within DCS settings @ the top right VR tab. Also try a screen shot of my Nvidia Control Panel settings , these settings seem to do the trick for me on Windows 10. Some other issues that I ran into in the past were that I had to reset my 5g router. I really hope that this does the trick as stutters in VR can be nauseating. If the issue still persists, hit me back so that we can try some other settings. 🦇
I can post you a link for a VR specific optimization video if you want, it help me get ride of all the stuttering and improved my frames Also you can lower your resolution in your monitor if your vr has lower res, lets say you have a 4k monitor and a 2k vr, you can lower your monitor resolution to 2k, that will greatly increase performance and you wont notice any difference in your sim experience
Thanks Novo 👍 I'm always down to try some new optimization. Although this guide has served me rather well so far, I sort of enjoy tinkering with my graphics for the perfect VR flying experience in DCS World:) I have not been able to fly too much as of late because of a failed SSD and a BSOD but since that is fixed now, I have not had much ..if any stutter in DCS. @@simulatedpilot3441 I'm very sorry to hear that. This Sim is not so fun in VR with frame drops/micro stutters. Have you tried running MSI Afterburner to monitor your GPU/VRAM percentages? Also memory and CPU usage during gameplay. I recently ran into a similar issue with micro stuttering which in my case was due to a failing SSD. After replacing , the issue was fixed. It is a curious issue especially with your specs. If not already , try running MSI/Rivatuner overlay to check for any anomalies that may be present in gameplay. Also maybe check memory status just to be sure. If you have the 6900 XT on order , Honestly I would hold off for the next gen Gpu lineup instead which from some leaks doesn't seem to far off. The RTX 3070 that you have now is pretty close to top tier atm and I would be surprised if you card is damaged from mining for that amount of time. On the other hand the 6900XT is Top Tier along side the RTX 3090 ...for now,and would provide a significant difference in PCVR for DCS. Good Luck 👍 hopefully this helps with locating the issue.

Is the Grenelli Designs F-22 considered to be low fidelity compared to full purchase price DCS planes? I realize it's free and beggers can't be choosers really but I know they distinguish planes as either "low fidelity" or "high fidelity". It looks like it would be great in VR so I'm gonna give it a try for sure. thanks so much for the video ! SUBSCRIBED !!!
Huge thanks Harpoon & no worries, I really enjoy making these vids:) I would say that Grinnelli Designs F-22 is more like mid fidelity although the interior of the cockpit is High fidelity and nearly fully interactive like most of the paid Mods. Good luck! let me what think of the mod if you choose to Download it👍
The -22, compared to other full fidelity modules (aka Tomcat, Viper, Hornet, Warthog...), is really low in quality, but it's still working well. You just dont have tons of servers to play on. Just remember that, for now, it's way more a mod than a module 😉

Hello Bratcher :) I recently starting having a similar issue with regards to recent updates and in my case, I am still using last gen hardware. I found that lowering my Pixel Density from within DCS / VR settings down to 1.0 from 1.3 & keeping MSAA @ 2× also from within Nvidia Control Panel / Global Settings (Vertical Sync) Use the 3D application & VR pre-rendered frames @ 2 . Try setting Power Management from optimal to prefer maximum performance as well as a minor adjustment on the Oculus App / try 90 Hz / 3264 × 1648 . if you are not using Oculus Tray Tool or the Debug Tool ..i would consider trying these / either will do. I set Default Super Sampling to 1.0 using OTT - Default ASW Mode to 30 Hz and OVR Server Priority to High all within game settings on Oculus Tray Tool. Next on OTT, scroll down Oculus Link option Distortion Curvature @ low / Encode Resolution to 2912 & Bitrate to 250 then save and restart along side the Oculus App running and upon restart Launch DCS VR . These settings provided worked magic for me and I will be uploading new content to share the results and new and improved DCS VR settings Tutorial (Very Soon) 🦇 I really hope that this helps you with your settings & if you have any questions I will help you out 👍 Fly safe my friend 🦇
Sorry to hear that ..If your using a Quest 2 , I would try to lower anisotropic filtering down to 8 from 16 and drop from 90 hz to 80 hz . Hello Bubs :) I am truely sorry to hear that ! Are you by chance playing this on Air-Link? If so , I would consider switching to a cable . There are plenty of affordable options from Amazon. If you are and this issue is still happening / make sure that your GPU Drivers are up to date / Windows is up to date ect . You may have corrupt GPU drivers and may possibly have to use DDU and start fresh with a clean driver install. There are tons of Vids to guide you through this process on YT. Also My previous video would be best suited with regards to settings to pair with your system specs / Stutter Free Optimization Guide . Is it possible that you have faulty hardware Aka CPU / GPU / Ram / Mobo or PSU ? Also are you using Windows 11 ? If so maybe consider rolling back to Windows 10 as from my experience Windows 11 did not play nice with DCS VR at all. This issue that you explain is a bit vague and is hard to diagnose based on what you have provided ...but what I can say is that your GPU / Q2 worked very well for me as my previous RIG. That being said there are a few things that I can recommend such as / turn off Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling to start and dial your DCS settings to lowest possible and work your way up . Maybe pull the GPU and clean it with compressed air or an electric duster and Dust out the entire chassis / pull your Ram and re-seat both of the Ram and GPU ...also maybe monitor your temps during gameplay on any triple A title that is considered taxing on your Hardware . This could give you an idea of where to start to get this Sim working correctly for you . Anyways I wish you the best of luck Bubs !

An excellent point.
Can you elaborate, and perhaps link some data to back this up? I’m interested
I'm not going to lie, when you get to 10mins and show us the flat graphics capability of this game.. It's pretty dire! Looks like something from a PS3 2006.

Great video! thanks you for the time you put into it. Hope it helps with my 20fps XD
Hello and welcome !
The GTX 1080 is still a very good GPU in my opinion . This Sim is always evolving and does require pretty beefy specs to run very smooth at near max settings.
With your specs I believe that you should be able to hit a solid 45 fps with the settings provided with ASW enabled and set @ forced 45Hz from within OTT and Hags off 👍
I will eventually upload another video that is more relevant regarding recent updates (2.8) ect and how to use OpenXR / Open Composite with mid spec H/W on both the Q2 & G2.
I wish you the best of luck Joe

Dual 1070 is a very decent GPU combo !
I will be uploading a video very soon, which I am certain will convince most people on the fence to switch from Steam VR.

why can't I find the FA22 or 35 in DCS? HO and thank you for fixing my system

This may be a silly question but have you binded the re center HMD setting to your Hotas ?
If so and this problem still persists , I would validate DCS and Steam VR.
Next I would try resetting you WMR HMD boundary and be sure there is sufficient lighting in your play area.
Try these out and hopefully this helps to fix the issue 👍

@@eggrovr2733 no in fact it was the calibration steam VR for the simulator you must perform the static calibration.😉
@@eggrovr2733 Where's the VR bitrate? I am using a 5G wireless connection. I also think Steam acts up sometimes and whammies me
@@WhereNerdyisCool You can access VR Bitrate from the DCS settings menu . Good luck 👍

Of course 👍 I use an RTX 2060 Super for a GPU and CI7-9700 for a CPU with 1.5 TB SSD & 16 GB of Ram for now although future upgrades are looking pretty good 🙂
I found that I lowered the MSAA to 2 and the anisotropic to 8< notice a big difference going from 16 this time in smoothness.
Which System specs do you have?
So i think i will stick to headtracking, unitil one of 2 things will happen:
rtx 40xx series will come out and will be affordable (we both know that will never happen)... or ED gets their optimization done... :/
I think i know the Problem.
Also try a screen shot of my Nvidia Control Panel settings , these settings seem to do the trick for me on Windows 10. Some other issues that I ran into in the past were that I had to reset my 5g router. I really hope that this does the trick as stutters in VR can be nauseating. I can post you a link for a VR specific optimization video if you want, it help me get ride of all the stuttering and improved my frames

Good luck! let me what think of the mod if you choose to Download it👍
The -22, compared to other full fidelity modules (aka Tomcat, Viper, Hornet, Warthog...), is really low in quality, but it's still working well. You just dont have tons of servers to play on. Just remember that, for now, it's way more a mod than a module 😉

Can’t get this game to run on my quest at all. It has a seizure every loading screen on the quest and when I manage to start a mission I can’t even look around without it stuttering to the point where it’s completely unplayable
Edit* I am using a nvidia 2060super with my quest. Everyone seems to be able to run this but me. It’s literally unplayable
Hello Bubs :)
I am truely sorry to hear that !
If you are still having issues , get back to me with more details and I will do my best to troubleshoot with you .
Thanks for the visit :)
@@eggrovr2733 I appreciate the reply but I figured out my problem and it’s kinda embarrassing. Apparently I didn’t have VR mode turned on and that’s what was causing me so much issues😅.
Virtual Reality pre-rendered frames - I don’t have that position. Does anyone know why? My graphic card is Rtx3080
Hello Davidos 🙂 This is an issue that I have never run into. Have you tried rolling back your drivers? I would try this before uninstalling/reinstalling Nvidia Control Panel...
@@eggrovr2733 Thank You for Your message, just found that option. It was just different named in my language. Thanx again!
@@davidos622.3 No worries at all Davidos 🙂 Any questions are welcome here 👍
Good job brother - caveated with 'your preferred' settings - quite right too - everyone's system is different. FWIW, i made this video on a 1080ti. I still fly with these exact settings on a 3080ti - enough said..

Thanks Flex 😁 Sorry for the late response ! Fly safe brother 🦇
The USAF are now gonna get rid of the F22 now....lol
🤔 Not entirely true ? They're just retiring 33 F-22 leaving 153 or so in operation , which 20 are primarily used for training purposes. Manufacturing was halted due to high cost of the aircraft.
Also works for 1070 ti GTX?
I would think so ,considering pound for pound the 1070 ti is on equal footing as the 2060 Super regarding performance👍 😁
Although if this does not work for you , my last upload will. There have been some updates since I uploaded this video though 😬which favors higher tier hardware ect..Good luck (Fly Safe)
This is more complicated than starting the A10-C
Hehe 😬 I agree...Sometimes I miss the console days aka (Plug N Play) Hope this helps you though. If you have any questions I'll do my best to help out 👍
