    Just recently updated Windows/Nvidia driver and lost all my Nvidia/graphics settings. Gave it a shot resetting myself and was only getting 45 FPS max (Ryzen 9 (5900),Rtx 4080Super, 64 Gb Ram, HP reverb G2) for a couple weeks. Followed you guidance in this Video and was up to a consistent 90 FPS and looking great. Occasionally getting 10.0 and over of APP Gpu, so I might have to dial a few things back. Thanks !!!!

    Hello, what about using OpenComposite to get rid of SteamVR which is terrible? When I did so the VR is much better. Also I can get 90fps using AirLink. My Ethernet speed is 1000Mbps and I'm using the Linksys Hydra Pro WiFi 6e (it gives a connectivity of solid 2.4 Ghz). I use the cable INIU 16Ft just to keep the Quest 3 charged at 100%. I plug the cable in to the battery of the Elite Strap. I can play hours and no issue with battery because this cable has an USB-C where you can plug a cable from a charger so not using the PC USB which is not powerful enough.

    Ok, after messing with settings now for over a month, following every contradictory guide and YT video, I have hopefully figured it out for my system...maybe it will help you: 4070ti/5800X3D/32GB RAM/W10/Quest 3. I did have a 5600X, and it was fine too...the 5800X3D upgrade is HUGELY over-rated, and actually drops frames in some games from the 5600X. The very first thing to do is set it to VR graphics in the DCS system tab. Then go up from there, seeing if you like DLSS or MSAA. I settled on 2X MSAA/PD of 1.1 (in-game setting), textures both on HIGH, clouds HIGH, view distance HIGH, shadows MEDIUM (and Flat for objects), water LOW/MEDIUM. These are the big ones. There are other settings like grass that I just turn OFF because if it's on at all, you get micro-stutters on the terrain, even up high. The only thing that smoothed out the experience to give me a steady 72 FPS and no more stuttering was setting the Encode Bitrate higher in ODT (as he does in this video). I started at 960, and have dropped it to 500 now and I don't see any difference between the two, but I am still testing. Magically the stuttering stopped! OpenXR Toolkit/Tray Tool, all that nonsense made ZERO difference. The only thing nice about the Toolkit is the ability to adjust the picture (saturation, etc.). Turbo mode did work, but now it just freezes and crashes DCS, even when you set it in the menu before loading into a module. Do these things first before pulling your hair out trying to figure out the utter sh!tshow that is DCS VR and the clown comments you'll get from the no-life trolls in the ED forums.

    Hello one question I play pc/vr and yesterday I had an idea is it possible to put better resolution in your dominant eye and lower one in your non dominant, I think it would work because most of what you see comes from the dominant eye, so lowering the non dominant eye quality would be pretty much unnoticeable but it would leave more pc power for better resolution for the other eye

    Hi, Thank you for this tutorial. My computer is i9-13900K,64GB RAM, RTX 4090 card. I have a Pico 4 as HMD and YAW 2 chair. Before following the setup of this video, I couldn't even get DCS to run with Pico4 and YAW 2 chair. It took a long time for DCS to loadup and during the game there is a lot of stuttering. After overclocking the computer with your method, I finaly get YAW 2 chair and Pico 4 to function. Yet, I am only getting 37FPS. I went through the video three times, checking step by step to see if I missed anything. I stopped the YAW 2 Game engine just to see if that is the cause for me not to have a higher FPS. But, it didn't make any difference. My DCS is the stand alone version. I added the force OpenXR and force VR parameter. Is it because of the Pico4? Will it be better if I change the headset to other brand? But I saw in the comment below, some user with Pico4 can still get 70 FPS. Could you please give me some advice what to do next to get a higher FPS? Thanks!

    I consider making the same upgrade (3080Ti -> 4090) exclusively for DCS VR, is it worth it in your opinion? Can the 4090 achieve stable 72 fps with maximum settings, or do you also need to fine-tune everything with just a higher outcome? The rest of my system is 13600k with 64GB ram and game is installed on NVME

    • @PioFromFarFar

      the answer is in his video. He plays on 4090 and even though it has a lot of frames, the game looks poor without shadows. I play on 3080TI and I always have minimal shadows on medium. DCS has beautiful graphics and I don't see why not to use them. I'm using Meta quest 3 90hz 4064x2592 and I have 45 fps locked. I can't unlock it. I tried various programs, oculus try, openxr and it doesn't work. And strangely enough, everyone says that the game runs better on OpenXR. I don't see any difference

    I don't understand the 90fps magic number fever, specially with a 4090 and a quest 3. With quest 3, with the incredibly smoth ASW you don't need 90fps to have a butter fluid experience. It's like missing the amazing experience you might have with ultra settings and the same fluid experience in the combo 4090/quest (3 or pro)

      Hello and welcome, Firstly, launch DCS in 2D on your monitor and go to the settings icon. From there, check ✔️ ✅️ the box that says launch in VR. After that is done, follow the step in this video, particularly on the part where I enable my VR hands , and try to un-check your Virtual Hands. Also...if you are launching via link/ PCVR, please be sure to use USB 3.1 port and a compatible cable. Also, maybe unplug your HOTAS and try to launch DCS in VR again after those steps, just to try and troubleshoot the issue. I would try disabling any Bluetooth devices that could be interfering with the Sim and launching in VR. I really hope that this helps to alleviate the issue. If not, please feel free to comment again and provide all of the steps that you have tried thus far. Thanks for the view and comment, Please enjoy and Fly Safe 🦅

    Man, I need to get to tweaking, I suppose. I recently upgraded my CPU to a 14700KF and am still running my RTX 4070 and 32 GB of DDR4, but when I fired up DCS in VR the other night, I got a measly 60 to 65 FPS just sitting on the runway in the A-10 II GAU-8 tutorial mission. That was using the default "VR" profile and 80% res in OpenXR. I did manage to get IL-2 to run pretty great on this rig at 90 Hz (solid 90 FPS 98% of the time, even in single player mode), so I don't want to have to switch back to 60 Hz for DCS. And I'm not even sure I want to run it in VR, since I noticed that with my settings, reading the text on the A-10's HUD was near impossible, no matter how much I leaned forward... :/

    • @eggrovr2733
      @eggrovr2733 9 месяцев назад

      Hello there, If you use my latest guide ... you can easily achieve 90 FPS and stable, with that Rig , with some headroom for micro adjustments. In terms of visability to scope your mfd's , that should also be no issue. I just recently upgraded my HMD with prescription lenses by Hons VR , and the difference is night and day, at least for me ... to see my entire cockpit so clearly is mind blowing! That is if you are in need of Prescription Lenses / Glasses , then the upgrade is a no brainer. If you have any questions , please feel free to reach out again...I will always do my best to help out . Good luck, Fly safe 🦅

      @@eggrovr2733 Thanks for the reply, dude... I'll see if I can find your updated guide for some more pointers. Gotta admit that I hadn't tried DCS in VR before because I'd heard that it was a bit of a mess until recently. Not sure about the glasses thing... I do need reading glasses these days for small-ish text, but other than that, my eyesight's fine. This ain't news I think, but when I switched from the Rift-S to the Reverb, I did/do notice that the lenses on the Reverb do have a very pronounced sweet spot - according to other G2-users I know, this is normal with this set. Not sure if there are aftermarket-lenses that would cure this.

    • @eggrovr2733
      @eggrovr2733 9 месяцев назад

      @1SaG Hello there, I am absolutely positive that my latest guide will get you fired up! From there as a baseline, you can then make micro adjustments that will help you to achieve better results, based on your particular Sim Visual Preferance. The guide will provide a very stable 90 fps based on your RIG specs. If you are farsighted, then I do not think that Prescription lenses will be of any benefit though. Sadly, the only way to accommodate the small sweet spot on the G2 is to remove the Facial Interface Lense Spacer and get your eyes as close to the lenses, which will result in a wider FOV. With that resolution @ 2160 × 2160 Per Eye, this Sim looks fantastic! Please enjoy Fly safe 🦅

      @@eggrovr2733 Yeah, it's a bit weird how much all this depends on settings and tweaks. I was at a squad meet a few months ago where one of the guys had brought his brand new 4090/Pimax Crystal setup and he hadn't optimized his IL-2 settings yet. It ran great in MS FlightSim but when we fired up IL-2, that game ran worse than it does on my much less powerful rig. You'd think with that much computing power, you wouldn't have to dive too deep into the settings ... but apparently, you do.. :) Thanks again for the responses!
