Great video thank you I was having problems with the trunk it wouldn’t open at all this video helped me a lot showed me how to unhitch the back seat to open the trunk also helped me how to replace the trunk hitch. Very detail thank you again!!!!
Battery dead in TRUNK, without thinking shut trunk lid. No power no release and no latches to fold down seat, there inside. Can't remove seat back, again seat has to tilt down. This really helped me out of a jam! Thanks for the video and one I could actually see how u did it.
Trunk usually doesn’t open when I press the button but it’s also completely silent. When it does open it usually won’t close unless I press the button again while open. Only then do I hear it unlock, even though the latch is visibly open all along. I keep getting my stuff stuck in there.
So I installed the part. It works when the part is not touching the car but it just clicks when it’s attached to the car. Do you know what that could be?
I bet you know! I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu Maxx. The rear gate had an accident, I am waiting to get the metal work done. It was working (locking and unlocking) fine. But starting today it wont lock. What's up?
Did it work ? My was not closing either unless I clicked the button more the once and then today it didn’t want to open did changing the latch fix you problem ?
i wouldve liked to seen you shut the trunk lid and see if it stays shut at least after you changed the latch. you never closed it after you changed the trunk latch
I don’t know why it doesn’t have a trunk release inside? Just another reason to dislike a Chevy. Next car is going to be a Toyota where the people thought of very difficult addition of an interior trunk release lever not a button with relays and fuses😢😢😢😢😢if I can run a power cable to the trunk for an amplifier then I can surely add my own manual trunk release cable towards the front seat.

Easiest fix, this applies to 2017 Chevy Cruze, Gen 2, as well... 15m start to finish....
if i were to disconnect that single cord connected to the trunk lock would it interfere with anything other than electronically opening the trunk?
Is it the same for Chevy impala 2017?
Yes it shouldn’t be far off
Thank you so much my man

How much does the part cost?
Check the link in the description
Had an auto shop tell me it’d cost $550 to replace an actuator on my 2013 Malibu.

It keeps the trunk secure in case someone gets inside. Smash and grabs will break a window but if you put things in the trunk they are safer.
