..more proof of how great Sco is!..when I went to Berklee back in the day he and Bill Frisell and other super guitarists would play at this dive bar in the Northeastern University campus area near Huntington Avenue..it was an incredible time period in Boston..jazz lives..stay strong and stay safe..New York February 18, 2021..
Mr Scofield is just as instantly recognisable playing acoustic as he is electric. Great!
Was thinking the exact same thing!
This truly reflects the acoustic nature of electric instruments... and Mr. Scofield's mastery.
Acoustic guitar player: not frequently. He is mainly electric guitar player.
Very Beautiful ! these scofield's licks keeping the swing, wonderful !
Wow.

Hola!
Saludos!
@@FrancoGrimoldi Que pena! Material raro e extraordinário, como dizes! Gracias
Its the archer not the arrow.
Does anyone know what this video is from? And how can I find the full performance? ;)
I wish I knew!!!
I used to watch it frequently from another RUclips channel until it got removed. I've then searched the web, found this version on a rusian website and uploaded it to my channel, for our delight.

I love ART tatum version
What Martin’s guitar is that?
Who cares! :)
I do. 🙂
00-18 or 000-18?
I don’t really know...😅
Interviews with Sco confirm the guitar was made in ‘41, but Sco didn’t know the model. It is likely a 000-18 given the shape and mahogany back/sides. This video includes more detailed closeups of the same guitar: ruclips.net/video/SwOqPTGb4iM/видео.html. You can also see how LOW Sco keeps the action in this linked clip.

Sco is as good as Sco is great
A masterpiece no doubt and yet I'm afraid this is the kind of music that make girls leave the room, the flat and our life.
Jaajajajaaa... I think that's the wrong type of girls, at least for us.
And can you play Nothing else matters?
Was “traditional” the production team’s admission that they didn’t bother to look up who actually wrote this song?
Well, you’re right.
Or if they don’t have the name, say ‘standard’. But let’s not beat up on this fine channel.
Beautiful playing.
But I do prefer this, and all standards, to be played on an electric.
Scofield proving once again how the term “jazz box” is a ridiculous misnomer for an archtop guitar - as if that’s only designed for that music. It’s not the guitar. It’s the musician playing it.
You are wrong. Different tools are made for different things.
@@DS-yg4qs Tell that to the legions of country players who have used archtops or the jazz guitarists who have used solidbodies. Certain designs are MORE CONDUCIVE to certain sounds, but not mandatory.
@@spb7883 yes, you can fly without a plane but it's more regular and conventional to fly with it.
@@DS-yg4qs That doesn’t hold up. Not an accurate analogy.
@@spb7883 ok.
