This episode made me put my American Girl doll (Kit Kitteridge) in my closet. I used to sleep with my doll hugged to my chest as a little kid, and I ended up swapping to a stuffed bear. Then I switched to a duck, then I switched to a dinosaur, and now I sleep with a Benny the Bigfoot squishmallow. I looked JUST LIKE Kit when I was 9. My hair was cut into a Bob, it was naturally blonde, and I have blue eyes and freckles. So I really looked just like my American Girl Doll, and I had nightmares from this episode 😂 Oh yeah can we talk about the thing with the girls mom for a sec? That really fucked me up. She started treating the doll like her daughter and even the dad was like “Wtf?”. I remember being scared that parents would actually do that (I don’t know why I didn’t worry about my mom doing it. Probably because my mom never would 😂)
