Amazing at many levels - skills, innovation as well as lateral thinking…
Brains, beauty and grit make you a very complete person. Brava!!! 💐
This has got to be the most interesting method I've ever seen to make a bowl
Glad you think so. That was the challenge!
Some one needs a sponsor to send her a larger band saw and a lathe. You are truly inspiring. Great job.
That would be awesome. Ha! Thanks so much!!
I need a sponsor for that too
I didn't watch the other videos in this challenge...but I don't care. I'm awarding you first place!!!
Haha thanks!
Congratulations. You are one persistent, deep thinking young lady.
Haha! I’m definitely persistent.
Very talented with the jigs
Ingenious use of the cutoffs. I’m a fan.
Thanks!
WOW!!!! This is incredible. It looked like a heck of a lot of work but it was so worth it! Very clever techniques. Thank you so much sharing this and for participating in the challenge. 👏👏👏👏
Thanks so much Keith! It was a ton of work! Thanks for including me on this!
the extent of my woodworking is a building of one set of cornhole boards. that's it. but i still, on occasion, watch a woodworking video and fantasize about doing something else. that said, this is def one of the better woodworking videos i've seen. great narration, great editing, great anticipation of audience. couldn't be more pleasant.
Awesome. I really appreciate the feedback!
I love how efficient you are with our time - you pack a ton of info into a short amount of time. Thanks for not making it longer than it has to be just so more ads run. It’s why we keep coming back.
Awesome to hear
I'm jealous. I have all the tools because I lack the ingenuity and creativeness to do things without. This turned out awesome and I still can't get over how perfect it looks, all without a lathe.
Thanks! I couldn’t believe I was able to get the walls so thin
The beauty of poplar is highly underrated. This turned out great!
Agreed! Thanks!!
I think we have a winner here!
☺️☺️
You have given me inspiration to make a jig for a curved back of a dining chair. Thank you!
Awesome! That’s what it all about!
That was very smart and clever what you did with the table saw using the angle like that to shape the bowl.
Thanks! It was a bit scary. But it worked!
Just watched every bowl without a lathe video I could find on youtube and your bowl is by far the best.
Ha! Awesome
I know poplar is not considered a premium species of wood, but the color of that bowl turned out great, in my opinion. And of course, great job doing so much without a lathe!
Thanks! Yeah. I’m always on the look out for special poplar pieces like this
Hi Tamar! You always surprising us!
You are a genius!
I felt my brain make another fold. I learned something and went "whoa". Awesome job.
Wow. You just made my day. Thanks for that.
Great work. Much better than a segmented bowl. Congratulations.
Thanks so Much! I’m very happy with how it came out
Clever as hell! I really like the tablesaw trick for the outside shape. You could even make the outside more of a curve by changing the tilt of the blade each time you move the bowl on the jig.
Thanks! That would have been cool
Next on the list to watch? The SG cutting board. That thing is SWEET! ❤️
Hope you enjoy!
That's the most turned on a lathe 'no lathe' bowl so far. It's gorgeous:-) You are the router jig queen :-)
Thanks so much! I don’t know about that though....
Well that was a hell of an adventure!
Haha! Thanks
Morning coffee with Tamar!....Go-Fund-Me for a lath!...this video concept was so helpful...I need to make a curved dish with 15ft radius for glue up of a ukulele back and braces...curved sled for the router & spin the MDF...Love your channel!
Haha! Glad it was helpful!
Nice. Love the commentary. Woodworking= adapting
Thanks!
Great ideas in here! It really does seem it was turned on a lathe. Cool!
Thanks so much! It was a fun process to figure out
Very creative! Yes, I agree, it looks like it was made on a lathe. I love your persistence and creativity in adapting the tools you have.
Thanks! I don’t know if it’s persistence or craziness. Haha!
You are the definition of "amazing".
☺️☺️
Beautiful! Really well thought out construction and I love your creativity with the jigs. Also really admire that you are not afraid to highlight what you see as mistakes, we all make them and if we share them it helps us all to grow. 👍🏻
Thanks so much! This challenge was so fun. I love seeing all the different ways ppl will tackle the same problem
Well said
Love the resource minded approach!
This is crazy! Makes you really appreciate the invention of the lathe haha
Seriously!!
Holy smokes, absolutely fantastic! If I ever feel like I can't do something because I don't have the right tools, I am going to watch this.
Thanks so much Shaun! Glad I could help! I hate when people say they can’t make something because they don’t have the right tools!
Fantastic jigs, the bowl looks good too.
Thanks! This was fun to figure out
the two things I love about this 1- it does look like you used a lathe and 2- you still had ten fingers at the end, happy woodworking
Haha! Both good things. Thanks!
first of all the bowl looks great and you are one more smart woman,,,keep the videos coming
Thanks!
Tremendous effort with great results. I would have been nervous cutting that angle on the table saw too! Great job.
Thanks! Yeh. My husband was watching as I was doing that cut. The look of terror on his face was priceless.
That seemed like a lot of work to make a bowl, but at the same time, that seemed like ULTRA satisfying work to make a bowl. Well done!
Hahaa! Quite the conundrum! It was both lots of work and super satisfying
I love the creative way your brain works, Tamar. It is so fun and so inspiring to watch your videos.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Very clever stuff. I think we're all going to really know why lathes are a good idea but that was the challenge and you did it with an excellent result.
Thanks! Yeah. I didn’t really know I NEEDED a lathe until after I made this. Ha.
Nailed it! I’m a woman learning woodworking and I’m glad I found your channel!
Awesome. I hope there are going to be more of us!
You are totally awesome . That was a incredible the way made the jigs and shaped it all out !!!
Thanks so much! It was really fun to figure out
I remember watching this when it first came out, I thought that is an awesome bowl. I just watched it again, "reruns", that is an awesome bowl. I truly love how you over come set backs in your projects, very inspiring. Keep up the wonderful videos,
Awesome job! "Turned" out great! ✌️
Ha thanks!
This woman is brilliant.
Very well done. 🖒😚
Haha! My teachers would laugh if they read that. Thanks!
Great job. Like the way you rose to the challenge. Smart use of the tools on hand.
Thanks so much! It would have been so much easier with a lathe though. Ha
You really dug in deep and "turned" out a great bowl! You're jigs worked fantastically well! Thanks for the video!
Hahaha! Thanks! Jigs are sometimes better than the finished product! 😂
Oh, don't get me wrong -- I really, really like the bowl! It turned out great! But I also like how you improvised and came up with a way to create the jigs that you used.
KSFWG thanks so much!
Watching the work being done and the choice of tools might give the impression you do not know what you're doing, but in reality this is the work of an inspired, creative and talented artist who knows her tools. The final simple beautiful bowl do not render justice because ignorantly one might say 'That's easy to do on a lathe!' True. But doing it without a lathe. That's a different story. You're a true artist.
I really appreciate this. I never really considered myself an artist but I always knew I loved to be creative
@@3x3CustomTamar That is the way it should be.One considers themself a painter,a sculptor,a pianist,a craftsman. The title of artist is to be bestowed by others onto your work or talent,I agree with DMZ.
Larry Daniels ☺️☺️
An absolutely ingenious process. RagandboneBrown is already on my subscription list, and now so are you. It's lovely to see women with workshop skills... Keep up the good work, ma'am.
Awesome! Thanks so Much!
Best hair of all the RUclips woodworkers👍 and the bowl shows great ingenuity
Hahaha! Thanks!
The jigs are brilliant!!! Remind me of the mechanical drawing classes in first yr of engineering.. parabolas, cross sections of cones etc.
Thanks! I wish I took engineering classes. I probably would have enjoyed that. Ha
@@3x3CustomTamar you would have aced them! Btw i was watching the video of the keyboard stand you made. I haven't seen all your videos yet but I think maybe sometime you could make one introducing all your non power tools and jigs.. or maybe the top10 most useful ones? Just a thought..
S G interesting thought.
I'm a learned something new in this video. Great project and I much appreciated your ability 👍👍
There ya go again Tamar.....being oh so smart and and doing such an awesome job !!! Thanks for sharing !!!! Excellent job !!!
Haha. Thanks!
I think the poplar worked really well for this project because the dark/light contrast makes it really unique. Nicely done!
Thanks!
That's fantastic and clever. And a good looking result. Nice!
Thanks so much!
Another superb project. I would never have thought of making a jig like that to shape a bowl. You're the queen of jigs 👍
Haha! Thanks!
Impressive work! You show that if you have skill and creativity, you don't have to have every expensive tool in order to get great results.
Thanks! I’m happy you got the point! Ha!
Wow. Ingenious use of a router
Thanks!
Man, that was work, girl!
WOW Tamar!!! That is PERFECT, you are very creative!! EXCELLENT job.~ Jay. 👍👍
Thanks so much jay! I really appreciate that!!
Clever design and execution. Nice work!
Thanks!
That was brilliant. Really inventive.
Thanks ☺️
You're amazingly full of great ideas! Love it. Thank you.
Very modern feel to it, well done, I don't think I'd have the patience
Thanks! It definitely took a good amount of time.
I recently saw a video where a guy made a bowl on a table saw, using a jig that arced the piece over the top of the blade. He went back and forth until the inside was done and then used a different jig to do the outside.
I cant find the video to share with you, but you get the idea.
You did a great job. You're very talented.
Thanks! I think I saw that!
Wow very well done! Some good tips in this process.
Thanks so much Jimmy! Really appreciate that!
Thats a really cool way of doing that. You really think outside the box and get stuff done with the tools you have to work with,Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Brilliant! I think it “turned” out great!
Hahaha! Love a good pun. Thanks!
Scary to watch in places, but what an outcome, I would NOT have thought of doing that 👍👍👍👍👍👍💖💖💖💖
Haha yeah. It was a bit crazy.
Very interesting how you figured out all the techniques. This does convince me I need a lathe. lol
Haha me too..
- The challenges of the "creative mind" have no limits. B R A V O ! ! ! Great job.
Haha! Thanks!
Very clever and the result is beautiful.
Thanks so much!
A lot of ingenuity and work went into that bowl. It turned out great.
Thanks so much! I think of these jigs while I’m cooking dinner or playing with the kids. Ha!
wow, something out of the box. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
totally looks like it was turned. looks like a 45degree board bowl, great job
Thanks so much!
Super well thought and re thought Tamar excellent as usual, great initiative!!!!
Thanks so much!
Very nice! A very unusual technique and you ended up with a result that looks turned.
Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised with the end result
Very clearly you have talent. Looking forward to following your progress. Thanks for sharing.......
Thanks!
That turned out great! Thanks for sharing.
Turned. I see what you did there. Ha! Thanks!
I'm so impressed from the way you've done it!!! That was incredible and the result stunning!
Thanks so Much! I was pleasantly surprised with the result!
Y’all, this lady deserves some sponsors! Anybody have any connections?
I have some. I’m good 👍

Eres lo MÁXIMO Tamar!!!
Gracias por compartir tan excelente contenido amiga!
Saludos desde Reynosa México!!!
Very informative narration, when I need to take a course I want someone like you to be the instructor. Great job, thanks for sharing.
That’s awesome to hear! Thanks so much!
Very cool, does look turned.
Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised with the end result!
The ball looks amazing! Thank you for giving me an idea!
Awesome! Thanks!
Sheer genius! I like the way you thought out the jigs and met each challenge in uncharted territory! I hope you are able to have a lathe and you deserve be able to have any tool you desire - as your work will inspire many, many people.
I really appreciate that! Thanks! I hope to get a lathe one day.
You are welcome, I made myself a rudimentary lathe years ago with a washing machine motor and adapted items of discarded industrial machinery. The problem was getting a set of reliable speeds but the challenges were fun. I wonder if you have a scrapyard where you are that takes in commercial obsoletes or maybe an ex-forces supply yard. You certainly have the imagination to see where a piece of equipment can be adapted. I bet these days there are even You Tube films showing how to do it! The internet was not around when I made mine!!! :)
The following may at least inspire you;-

Maestra carpintera le quedó muy bonito felicitaciones gracias
Beautiful bowl! I really enjoyed watching you problem solve and figure out the best technique as you went. Good job and keep up the good work!
Thanks so much mike! This was a fun one to figure out
I hope you had a big bowl of ice cream after all of the hard work. Great ideas!
Haha! You know it!
So cool! Really dig how you approach this.. might mind first went to power carving since a lot of people are messing with the arbortech stuff now. That stuff is cool, but it's way more fun to see a really creative approach like this! Way to stay at it.
Thanks so much Caleb! That’s where my mind went at first also. But I really wanted to try to make it as perfectly round inside as possible. I’ll def have to try that arbortech stuff some time though!
The result is wonderful, the process however convoluted, shows remarkable flying by the seat of your pants to overcome tool limitations. This project will also instill a sense of priority in the way you start to tackle each one,a lot of time can be saved when there is an orderly plan of action.Planing the boards first, then cutting into 4 identical squares and making sure the glue-up was aligned would have saved a few steps.Maybe you can make another sled for the blade set at 45,would much rather see that, rather than twirling the bowl with the blade fully extended at 45,super-scary!All in all, never cease to amaze.
