I know this video is old and you might already do this now, but you should put links in the descriptions of parts one and two to the other respective video. I found this one pretty easy by searching "Jay Bass" on your channel, but I did have to search for it.

Hey Kev, great video! Being a fellow bassist, I was wondering if you know of an affordable bass guitar midi controller, much like the You Rock YG-1000, but caters more to bassists.

there is no explanation for anything. saying i think it should be 32.8 on dry wet (which sounds stupid) doesnt help

it saves time, but right you are there is no experementing in the vid to say sentences like that ;) I just wanted to see how the signal processing would be, fx and so on. How I tweak it my ears will decide.

I'm rather in for a loop as to why u never used the "Bass Pro" in the rig.......

Wasn't helpful at all. You didn't tell me why you turned"this" up and "that" down, you just did it an expected your students to know why. We need to know the "why"!

Thanks for your honesty and your great comment. It's comments like these that give me feedback of how to make better videos. I should have started this video with an overview which is....
The fundamental key to a great (studio direct) bass sound are 4 things - midrange punch, deep warm lows, smooth highs and a bit of ambiance for realism. In hindsight I should have stated this first.
2:50 - I explain that I am going for a "direct" studio bass sound so I chose control room pro since it has a DI for "direct" input. Here I was clear and specific.
3:31 - I explain why I chose the custom EQ and what it's role is. Your comment is valid here, I could go a bit in depth as to what this component is. The tone control acts like a standard tone control that allows you to brighten the upper end of your sound. The freq control selects the center frequency that will be cut or boosted by the scoop control. The scoop control engages a frequency curve that looks like a dip or a "scoop" if you were to look at it on a graphic equalizer.
4:29 - I explain why I chose the EQ shelving and what it's role is. Your comment is valid here as well. I chose these two frequencies because they are the equivalent of a bass and treble knob on a bass amp. I chose 6db boosts because the average ear can't hear a tonal change until it's boosted by at least 3db.
5:03 - I explain why I chose the Reverb unit. Reverb programming is a masters degree unto itself so to keep the tutorial short I need to just give settings. If you want to go deeper I recommend viewing a reverb tutorial.
The final compressor and EQ are just mix tricks. I explain their role in this but compression is a deep dive so I need to just give settings here as well.
Thanks again for your honesty and thanks for watching.

I appreciate Kevin accepting criticism. I did find it helpful but I like someone who helps people understand. Thanks and more videos like this one please. Especially on bass. I just ordered Komplete Ultimate 11 and wanted to see how people where using this
