He has been confirmed for the sequel, as well as Kung Lao(I assume he'll be brought with the mechanical eye and Kung Lao will be a form Shang Tsung takes to fight the heroes).

I knew it was too early for anyone to die, yet Reptile seemed dangerous enough to kill any one of them I think thats a pretty good scene considering. The flare was cool kinda like in the THING.

The gore in this movie did not make it good. There are way too many flaws that cannot be overlooked. The R rating and gore only made it a cheep cash grab. The '90s movies focused more on the lore than this "Arcana Cole Young" garbage.

Lawson played this role so well. The way he talks, fights, and acts strongly resembles Kano from the video game franchise. And I’m looking forward to the sequel!

Mortal Kombat has hundreds of characters. I doubt they’d bother to bring back anyone but Kano and Bi-Han.

The worst fatality came from the writers and what they did to Reptile.
To be fair, Reptile was a straight up lizard in MK Deadly Alliance. In fact he has gone through so many altercations in many MK games. This is just another version of him which im fine with. Reiko on the other hand...oh ho boy!

@@akilcharles3473 Do you even know the definition of faltered? Deadly Alliance takes MANY years after the first Mortal Kombat game, which this movie takes place before.
After Shao Kahn's defeat in MK3 and Reptile's banishment to the Netherealm , he started to lose his ability to look human. Reptile was going mad from not having the guidance of a master to serve and Saurian co-dependency. This took a toll on his body as well as his mind, ‘de-evolving’ him as time went by to become much more animalistic and losing more and more of his human appearance. This doesn't happen until MANY years later down the road.

Did really think in your small mind was he ever fully human to begin with!? Even in the first MK movie (while great but also flawed) played around that.

No, reptile has always been a reptilian humanoid. His appearance was similar to sub zero and scorpions’ because it’s easier and cheaper to just copy and paste than to make a completely new character design. Especially since reptile was a bonus character in the first game anyways, but he has never been Lin Kuei or Shirai Ryu

Sonya actually saved Kano
Binge watching these fights only from the movie makes them all stand out and feel great, they might be short but they do a lot of the moves and correct things from the game. Reptile goes invisible, uses acid to melt the knife, uses tongue move to bring Kano closer, claws them all. Invisible sweep move to take down Sonya. Rewatching these on youtube and pausing etc to find everything makes these better. I remember seeing this scene in the movie and it felt like he died before he could really do anything, but he does a lot of moves in just 2 minutes. Original reptile lasted longer and had cool fight scene, yes, but what moves do he use from the games in Mortal Kombat 1? Reptile doesn't use a single move from the game in that first movie besides punch and kick. I like that this mvoie at least used a lot of moves from the games, and Cole character made this movie shit. But at least appreciate everything else besides Cole. I also read a comment that there will be a sequel, so hope it gets done and is even better than this and it learned from it's mistakes.

In all honesty, Reptile & Kano are my mains and favorite characters in the series, so I'm fine with Kano being the one to kill Reptile. And still, at the same time, I'm so fed up of Reptile being a jobber. He was awesome in the 90s as a mysterious, dark horse ninja who could still whoop ass. And this movie pales in compassion to the 95 movie.

such a shame they killed off Kano in this movie, but i guess they thought that with Johnny Cage coming in for the sequel there wasn't going to be room for TWO loud-mouth self-obsessed assholes (although watching them interact would have been fucking gold). still, I hope they do the classic Mortal Komabt thing and just find ways to resurrect dead characters so they can bring Lawson back to play Kano again
