A buyer said, Eye contact with horses is very important when u choose...Never heard this before...Everyday we are on learning path...Nice video clip. I like ur very sharp voice. Thx 4 ur videographer/Editor of this clip...
+NathaPushpa de Silva You're welcome! I think eye contact shows your confidence and intention. With some animals it can bring either aggression, fear or permission. That's my take at least. 😊
U r quite right on that...it works for all the scary dogs too..if u r a loving kind to dogs..they wont harm u..i am telling this by experience...they know who u are when we come closer and the way we talk to them kindly....
- Ugh, this is so cool. Going out to the sticks...away from the majority of the tourists...and exploring/experiencing the culture, in my mind, is what it's all about! Love it!
+Edges Of Earth Thanks. Ironically it didn't feel too far in the sticks because the camel/horse camps aren't far from town and is populated with the farmers, buyers, herders, locals etc But I know what you mean. It still felt worlds away from the festivities. 🐫😁🐫
Nice post, thank you. I loved the camel fair. I was there a couple of years ago and the walk around the lake and through the part of the city attached to it is spectacular.
+Mara N I actually went when the festival was probably out it's quietest. Trading days are mostly for the traders and buyers. There's still a lot of tourists at this time, so it picks everything up a notch. Thankfully it's not manic like going to a rock concert tho.
+MyLifeIsABeautifulDisaster -A.Y. This is in November. It looks hot, because I'm filming I the desert part on the outskirts of the city but it's not unpleasant. 😁 Rajasthan is arid and deserty; but clothes wise colorful and more reknown for palaces and royal history.
ooh I thought u shot it in May and it's like hottest month now, yes it might be comfortable to travel there in Nov yeah Rajasthan is one of a kind and unique, so far I have seen it through images and videos, will definitely experience it
Wow! Really enjoyed this one Christine ! Here is a question. To protect yourself from the incessant touts who detract from the experience of your day, do you think it would be possible to hire one of them as a 'guide' so that he could then fend off others that try and sell you things? Not sure it is the most cost-effective way of having a tout-free day, but it might be worth it once in a while maybe...? Just a thought.
+Scolopente guides help in that they shoo touts. It's different when a local scolds vs a tourist. Lol. I feel mixed about hiring illegal guides bc I never know where they might lead me and if creates a different problem. Either way, no guides offered themselves. It was mostly children begging and camel ride touts.
you know what Christine. I really hope someday by accident, I can meet you out there some place on earth and be in your vlog haha:))) you're so inspiring to me, love ya!
+MyLifeIsABeautifulDisaster -A.Y. Yow! 😳 For that kind of money, you'd think they'd at least put up tents for the camels or better tents for themselves.
GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kaaloa I think that as desert is home for camel dudes, they are accustomed to the heat and people usually keep them open outside their houses, and it's exactly opposite in case of horses, as observed in your video they were protected under tents.
I feel bad for the camels. Did you feel bad for the camels? When I'm in Thailand I always go to one of those non rider rescue sanctuaries and massage the elephants. Do the camels need to be rescued?
+Exposing Liars I did feltreally bad for some of the treatment. Not all handlers are ethical or caring; while some take pride in their stock. It's an industry of livestock trading.
Thank's for Comeing in India

Please put many more horse videos
Great video Christine and best wishes for the future of your channel. I hope you hang in there.
+Tim Gat Thank you! ❤️
Oh my goodness, but I miss India sooooo much!
Also, yes the persistent sellers were why I did not enjoy the Taj!
Very good video and you're so biuty ful
Absolutely cool, Chris! Those horses- never seen those before. Did they put eyeliner on some?
Merchants can dress their livestock to make them more attractive. That was serious liner. Beautiful though.
incredible video~ :) love the vibe, colour and info :) !!
I am so wanting to go to rajasthan. I live in delhi. And i make travel vlogs. On my youtube channel. I am so happy seeing all these pushkar videos
Amazing, where are you traveling nowadays?
Thanks, this is fascinating!!!
+ISITVAINTOSAYIMPRETTY it was a pretty big bucket list festival 😁
another amazing video. Good Job Chris :)
this seems like a place where I'd love to go to because of the market/ trade but woahh the touts were intense for that few seconds of them :o
+Leah Luna Yeah, the more festival people there are, the touts unfortunately get more aggressive. Otherwise, I hear the town can be pretty quiet.
Christine, Are you back in india? when did you leave china?
Would headphones prevent some of the solicitation? It's my strategy during my commutes in NYC at least.
+leleiskindofcool I'll have to try that idea out. 😉
great! thank you!
You're welcome! =)
Wow that looks super crazy!
+The Veggie Passport It felt mindlowing. 😉😉
OMG! Super Interesting but looks crazy and kind of annoying. thanks for sharing this. :)

Well done very good
are you wearing that head covering to blend in, to protect from the hot sun, or were you required to?
+Gato All of the above. The beauty of a scarf in India.
I would love to go to pushkar, but definitely not in summer ,it looks so hot, I have never been to northern part of India yet!

Do you travel 1 country twice? Christine?
If I love a country, I return to explore more. I'm a firm believer you can never "do" a country. Not 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years... ;)
you know what Christine. I really hope someday by accident, I can meet you out there some place on earth and be in your vlog haha:))) you're so inspiring to me, love ya!
Good video. how much do camels sell for?
+alteredillusions100 I don't know that. I wasn't in the market to buy one😁
alteredillusions100 They sell it for 60000 rupees to really healthy and good ones for 100000 rupees ( Usd 950 dollars to 1500 dollars)
+MyLifeIsABeautifulDisaster -A.Y. Yow! 😳 For that kind of money, you'd think they'd at least put up tents for the camels or better tents for themselves.
thanks for the info

Were those albino horses?
+Exposing Liars They sure looked albino-- so powdery white.
SO COOL!!!!
You would make a great traveling buddy. At least since we both know how to handle Chiang MaiRam Hospital. That was scary.
Very nice
So nice
v nice
What did that fair smell like? So many camels I can't imagine very nice :|
+Health By Napoli I actually didn't notice the smell as anything powerful. 😁
GRRRLTRAVELER | Christine Kal
What was the price of the camel? Any idea
I'm currently in India and the constant selling does get draining Hahaha 😅
How many times can you nod NO or say it? lol
+alex stubbs Good luck. Patience can be tested.
❤️
Nice video.... We have also uploaded Pushkar Video recently, just a try. Hope viewers like it.
