my cousins and their family live in the UK since they were a child because their parents work in the UK, when they cameback from UK they speak British not Indonesia, they've been silent almost all the time because my family speak sundanese and they never heard about it, and they kinda forgot Indonesian words a little bit because they usually speak British using British accent fluently- they're so lucky.
I was so lucky to have lived in the UK (Cambridge) for 7 months, I lived with a 100% English host family, and I tell you, I always ate dinner with my salt shaker and ketchup bottle near me. The meals were, not bad in taste, just lacking on it. I remember my favorite savory meals were "chili" and rice and when the side dish was beans!! OMG, amazing (I guess in comparison) and for the life of me, I could not get their obsession with peas... more unflavored stuff to go as a side dish on almost everything... :( salt and ketchup... my best allies for meal time.

All the examples were the worst examples of food consumed here, we have some incredible restaurants and dishes, but we also have some terrible examples, like anywhere. We are next to a huge variety of small but culturally rich countries and a lot of food from these places heavily influences what we eat. So traditional British food is falling to the wayside, though Fish and Chips, Roast Dinners & Pies (sometimes with Mash) remain very popular.
The thing is, I am fully 100%British but when I'm alone I switch between 1,000 accents a minute. ( I no it's exaggerating but I'm Bri'ish wo can I say ) idek why I do it, I just think that the British accent is the most bland and boring accent so it is rly easy to switch it to whatever our hearts desire! 🤣 And even weirder, I do it accidentally when talking to anyone and sometimes they think I am actually from the place where the accent originates from like America or Australia. I lived in London for six months. It was easy to get good food as long as it was from someone who wasn't ethnically English. People from the UK have no idea how much their BBQ sucks compared to that of the United States.
The government will normally cover it if your teeth are bad enough to impact your health. But if you want braces purely for cosmetic reasons, they dont cover it just like they wouldn’t for like nose jobs, or hair removal.
At my school a lot of people have them even if their teeth aren’t too bad. It’s not that you’re teeth have to be horrible to get braces but they just have to be a bit out of line. But say if only one tooth is a bit wonky, that’s when you can’t get them for free, but it still isn’t absurdly expensive if you want to buy them for fixing that tiny wonky tooth
Given that they don't have universal health care for essential services in the US, I would highly doubt they have dental coverage. It's not covered in Canada. If you're a student, you have coverage through your university, or if you're working and have a decent job, dental care would be part of the benefits package.

Our food doesn't rank among the world's best that's true, but it's nowhere near as bad as it's made out. Our problem I think is that we don't have a big food culture compared to places like Italy. Lots of people don't really cook and aren't that bothered about food quality. They eat to live rather than live to eat. Our food doesn't rank among the world's best that's true, but it's nowhere near as bad as it's made out. Our problem I think is that we don't have a big food culture compared to places like Italy. Lots of people don't really cook and aren't that bothered about food quality. They eat to live rather than live to eat. But if you look at what we actually do have in terms of produce and recipes, it's actually really tasty when cooked by someone who knows what they're doing. for example:

Toad in the hole
Bangers and mash
Fry up
Cottage and shephed's pies
Hot pots
Cornish and other pasties
Scouse
Cawl
Rarebit
Black pudding
Kippers
Mince and dumplings
Haggis
Sausage rolls

A multitude of meat pies and puddings like steak and ale, chicken and tarragon, mince and onion
