This looks like it’ll be a cool project! It’s interesting to think about what clothing was worn by people who didn’t have easy access to current fashions. A lot of people seem to just go by fashion plates and forget that not everyone saw those as soon as they came out or even cared about them, so this project looks like it’ll be a breath of fresh air. Good luck and have fun! 🤗
Looking forward to seeing it all! I think any reasonably talented maid would be able to use the fabric from any hand-me-down, or gift from her employer, to make “new” items for herself in a more modern style.
Thank you! Yes, I think reusing old clothes and re-designing them is a good way to go, most girls would have had some sewing skills and especially if part of your job was taking care of your employer’s wardrobe 😊
Burning the midnight oil here in Minnesota, I unexpectedly found your "channel" and am delighted! Your presentation is wonderfully supported by your research as well as your family heritage, I think, in Norway. I'm excited to look at your previous videos and look forward to your new editions as well. Thank you for a much welcomed combination of fashion, history, sociology, all linked to Norway.
Here in the UK employers often gave servants fabric for making clothes as a Christmas gift. Perhaps your servant girl got that fabulous blue 💙 as a gift.
That is an exciting outlook on your plans, I am very much looking forward to the new outfit! Also, I love how you incorporate things you already made. The second option stays are so pretty 😍
I'd make everything except the stays and see how you get on for time and then make stays if you can. They won't be seen so if you're running short on time to finish you have something you can wear in an emergency and if they are too fancy can you make some sort of cover so they will look plain for the event but can then easily be returned to their usual pretty self or later use. I like both sets of stays to be honest.
Funny, I know there´s not going to be a new video for a week or two, and yet I stop by every day, just in case.. Seems you have me hooked on the poofy sleeves 😅 Also, I don´t want to miss you crossing the magic 1k ;)

Thank you! I’m super excited every time I get to experiment with working class clothing for that exact reason 😊
