Wow, can't believe a year ago I was checking RUclips daily waiting for the next how to make frame lock videos. Now here we are 7 designs later I have taken knife making further than I ever expected all thanks to you!
Looks like I’m late to the party on your videos. I’m a beginner and truly appreciate all the info you put in your videos. What an awesome channel and teacher.
Mate what you do with your videos is so cool! Really appreciate it and love your work! Keep it! It's such a great way to give something back to the knife community!
Awesome as always bro, not gonna lie you are one of the reasons I got into the knife making business, and even more so now starting my first folder projects. I really appreciate how well you present materials and the dedication to teaching man.
I really enjoy your videos, and have learned a lot from you. I like your instructing methods, and appreciate your humbleness and honesty. You're not afraid to admit your mistakes, and seem to enjoy teaching us how it's done. Your knives are beautiful, Mike! I hope I can get my skill level on par with yours one day! Keep up the good work! I'll be watching! 😉
I just bought a 1x42 belt sander and a cheap $150 drill press. and everything else I need to try and attempt to make knives. my goal is to make balisongs. but I also really want to make folders. and your videos have pushed me to follow my goal (dream) and has help me so much. thank you for the videos mike. I hope to meet you someday. (maybe blade show 2019)
great that u are back...just yesterday i started designing a folder with draftsight...thx to your tutorial it was easy n didn't take as long as on paper ...thx for all the work n time u put into your videos...keep them coming...btw what about ekimknives merch? a cap,shirt,...with your logo on it would rock
hello, when i sandblast something, i use a vacuum dust collector(don't know how it sounds in english) via a filter assembled to sandbox. there is no dust in air, when you work and you'll don't need clamp top of a sand box, because a vacuum holds it very tight. also when i need to satin a blade with a 600grit sandpaper, firstly i grind it up to 1200grit and then handrubbing it with 600grit sandpaper. this step allows you make nice and clean and straight satin much easyer. hope this helps you
Hey Mike! Brand spankin new knife maker. Been binge watching your vids and getting SO MUCH good info. Thanks! If you haven't already I think people would be interested in the business side of things. How you fix a price, where to start selling first etc. thanks again.
Awesome video !, can't wait for you to start distributing them so I can spend the money thats been burning a hole in my pocket since you started this !
Hi Mike, Greetings from Wales, UK. Complete newbie here... my question is, is there any reason why the relief you mill out for the lock to bend, couldn't be on the inside? Love your work !! Cheers. Steven
Hello Mike, I´m just watching your How to make folder series and it´s great!! I have couple questions about your disc grinder. What type of grinder is it and where you purchased it? What is the disc size and how do you fix the sand paper on it?? Thank you so much!!
In order to get tighter tolerances, and less issues with perfect centering, would it help to nearly finish the blade first? So you'd know the exact thickness of blade and then you would have a perfect backspacer? Or is the loss of material ( when you grind the surface with the 600 grit plate) so minimal that it doesn't make any difference?
I’m wondering this as well. Super confused how he can do this. Maybe the pivot just accommodates when you tighten it more. I would probably have the blade heat treated, and surface ground while fitting in the backspacer and stuff.
He changed the steel in like the 3rd episode because he didn't want to use the titanium hardware because it was just a prototype so he used a cheaper steel as well
I love your tutorials. I love the information you give I think it’s really valuable. I would just ask that when you are talking to the camera, can you not have the tobacco in your mouth while your talking to the camera. (If your not visible it doesn’t matter, but trying to watch you talk it’s very very distracting.)

Do you blast right over the detent ball? I assumed it would make the action gritty but it still looks smooth!
Muito bom esse canivete. Melhor ainda se você poder disponibilizar os moldes das facas que você produz...
Hey, what equipment do you use like milling machine and grinder stuff like that. Really interested and want to know how to get started! thanks

Another great video Mike, whats that flat circular sander your using?
9" disc grinder with variable speed controller.
He said 12'' at 8.02
He was talking about his bevels being done on the 12" wheel. The flats were done on a 9" disc.
Would you ever make a slip joint folding pocket knife instead of a locking knife
at 8:45 you said you will leave the blade finish as is but in episode 2 of this series you said the the blade steel was rose pattern damasteel
He changed the steel in like the 3rd episode because he didn't want to use the titanium hardware because it was just a prototype so he used a cheaper steel as well
lol my lil girl just said "he seems like a nice guy" I said I know right.
