I remember when ever I asked my grandfather about when he was in the war. He would always cry when talking about it. When I here this song it makes me think of him and all those who fought in the war what it must of felt like leaving their loved ones behind.
American soldiers were usually from their families for roughly two years, The other allied troops were gone for up to eight. The trouble people rarely think of is the home-coming. There was initial joy. However, the men not only suffered from physical wounds but psychological also... How to find a place back in the family when the wife had been "head of the home" for so long, most also had PTSD which made building ANY relations VERY difficult....
viva algeria .......wow .......this is a song.......ah ya daniya ....en ..1988.....jé écouté cette chanson .........pour l embrasée ......wow ...wallahi cé la vérité ...danya l kahba .....pardan .............o avé un rendez vous ......a 20h00....meci khinks .....for a gold moments..........chokrane djazilén
I live in the Republic of China in Taiwan and when I was young, military service was mandatory. I spent two years 1991-1993 in the army as a drill corporal. My works were training awkward civilians into combat-ready infantry within two months. Some of my trainees were sent to Kimen or Matsu islets, roughly 10 km off the coastline of the authoritarian People's Republic of China(PRC) which repeatedly threatens to invade the democratic Republic of China with force. The two islets aforementioned were bombarded by PRC with heavy artillery from the 1950s to 1970s and many fatalities resulted from the artillery attacks. So I really understand what the lyrics " I watched a bunch of soldiers heading for the war , I could hardly even bear to see them go. " mean.
Chris sings for his own homeland. WE, G&T/Cypriots, can sing the same song for our common homeland. "...Dont let go, WE want to know, That you will wait for US until the day, There`s no borderline... No borderline, no borderline..."
This is about escaping Nazi Germany. The sequel song, _"Say Goodbye To It All",_ starts with this one's ending lines and is obviously talking about WW2.

This is about escaping Nazi Germany.
The sequel song, _"Say Goodbye To It All",_ starts with this one's ending lines and is obviously talking about WW2.
