    Great video bro! I just bought a fresnel lens but from Smallrig, and it has a passive fan cooling system that turns on when the it starts getting hot. I bought it to have a visible light ray when I shoot an indoor scene with haze, but this case scenario you just explained is really cool too and I will give it a try. Also, that Nanlite FL 11 fresnel is co cute hahahaha heep up the good work bro

      Ohh nice, will have to check out Smallrig fresnel.
      Yeah, the FL-11 is super small compared to the FL-20G. I should have recorded my expression when I unboxed the FL-20G. The surprise was priceless. :D

    Nice video. A good alternative would be the new Godox ML100bi which comes with a mini Fresnel 15 degree attachment. If only you could attach barn doors to it, I think it would be the perfect small light with a fresnel lens.

      Much appreciated! True, the ML100bi looks good, though I haven't used it yet. I wonder how much difference in light output could be between these two.

    a lot of great tips and ideas in this video. i have gvm 300w and im planing to get a fresnel for as well as a larger 600w power bank to use it outside it should be powerful enough to lit at least 1 person

    • @MikusAusters
      @MikusAusters  6 месяцев назад

      Nice! Happy to hear that you found this video helpful! O yeah, that combo should be powerful! I have always wondered for how long those huge power banks can last. Hopefully, it gives you enough runtime.

    Excellent!!!
    A question about how or what is the wall power charger that you recommend to be able to have them connected all the time and they can work with 100 W, via USB-C I cannot get it, even with 100W PD USB-C cables as it says the instructions. Looking for a 24W charger on Amazon

      To be honest I haven't really looked for one yet, because mostly I have been using the power adapters. I took one from Molus X100 and it works well for the Cinepeer CX100. And for charging a lower power adapters will be alright. But yeah, to power the light using USB-C the wall power charger and the USB-C cable must be grater than 100W. I will look into it some time soon though, since couple of them would come handy.

    Is there any benefit over a spotlight with a lens?

    • @MikusAusters
      @MikusAusters  4 месяца назад +1

      One of the benefits for using a spotlight with a Fresnel lens is that you can increase the intensity of the light fixture. While the downside is that the projected light becomes much narrow and the shadows sharper. It's more like figuring out the right (and accessible) tool for the job.

      For what kind of light fixture?

  • @orcapodmedia
    @orcapodmedia 6 месяцев назад

    Hmm. I must've been doing something wrong because I could barely get any noticable light on my subject during an overcast day with my Nanlite Forza 500 and that fresnel. That was pretty annoying.

    • @MikusAusters
      @MikusAusters  6 месяцев назад

      Hmm.. I wonder what could have been done wrong because it really improves the amount of brightness. Hope you will get to figure it out because the Fresnel lens with the Forza 500 must be really POWERFUL.

  • @Krakenborn
    @Krakenborn 6 месяцев назад

    Pair the 20G with those compact nanlite FC-500B fixture and you surely can batte agaist the Sun, well, a little bit :D

    • @MikusAusters
      @MikusAusters  6 месяцев назад

      True. :D That seems as a great option. Have to figure out a good powering option for outdoors though. Some kind of huge power bank could be an option, only thing that remains is to do the math on how long such a powering option would last.

    • @Krakenborn
      @Krakenborn 6 месяцев назад

      @@MikusAusters You need a whole 500Wh Power Station (Max power need to be 520W and more) for it. Or 2 of 275wh V-mount batteries. Both solution give you roughly 50 mins of run-time at 100% brightness. I'm sure that you can pack those stuff in your big backpack.

    • @MikusAusters

    the size of the fresnel lens does not impact the brightness of your light! =a 60W COB with a mini fresnel has the same brightness (if not brighter) like the same 60W COB with bowens adapter and a big fresnel. also consider, even most of the COB lights share a bowens mount, the placement of the COB chips is different, so you will get different results from different fresnel lenses. best use the manufacturer fresnel to be on the save side
