    It is quite funny to be concerned with septic leaks at fittings, as a septic system is designed to leak. But, the holding tanks can't leak as they need to maintain effluent for organic sewage breakdown.

    Awesome. I have the exact same idea for my trailer. My trailer isn't really mobile anymore, so I'll build an outhouse over the first barrel with a 8 foot line to the trailer direct. I'm glad to see it works. Thanks.

    Happy Fathers Day David! (I don't have any kids myself - That I know of I should probably add 😄 .)
    You took Aron's Kubota - Well he has to get one of his own then, there's nothing else to it.
    I wouldn't have clue on how to build things like this, never done it. In my home country Sweden I think Septic tanks are the most common in houses outside the cities, but you can not have an infiltration system like this - You must have a slurry truck to come and empty it for you. Electric toilets (incineration toilets) did gain popularity some years ago but some politicians thought that what might come out from the chimney pipe wasn't good for the environment so they changed the legislation around them. Nowadays you need to get an environment impact survey done first and the cost to get that done is way to high and it killed off the market for incinerator toilets. It's a very complicated business to get your sanitation facilities sorted in Sweden, not as straight forward as you might think. Cheers / Mr_B_Dublin

    I had a similar system for one person lasted 15 years without any pump outs. Tore out the barrels - the primary Barrel had about 8 in of sludge.

      Wow, that's excellent! I'm the only one currently using this system, so it could last 15 years. It's great to hear 👍 thanks for sharing

    I am currently redoing a septic field system mainly for RV dump and hookup. Using a Kubota BX25 for careful excavation of PVC pipe and salvaging the drain rock for reuse. This field was installed by a previous property owner when all they needed to do was install a new d-box on the original 30 year old home system. This field was unused for the past 8 years, so reusing materials is feasible. Love the BX25.

    Currently doing the same system for an offgrid camp using 4 barrels then the field. Quick question? How did you compress the fittings between the barrel inner and outer ?

    • @daviddarling5611

      We used silicone sealer!

    • @nsdave

      We cut holes that fit the 90''s l, then used silicone to seal around the 90's and allowed for the silicone to for a shin around it.

    Привет Вам из России! 😊 Я планирую сделать подобную систему канализации в своем летнем доме. Площади у меня мало рядом, но грунт хорошо впитывает воду. По этому сделаю третью бочку с отверстиями вместо поля фильтрации. И в начале сделаю вертикальную трубу для вентиляции. Еще у нас продаются, да и у вас они наверняка есть, бактерии для разложения органики. Если их добавлять в унитаз раз в месяц, то в первой бочке фекалии будут разлогаться и откачивать придется гораздо реже. Но для этого на улице должно быть тепло. Всего Вам хорошего! Good luck 👍

      Thank you for the welcome from Russia! My home is a camper, so I drain my tanks once a week or every 2 weeks, depending on the use. I add a packet of enzymes to each tank after I've dumped it into my septic system! What's best about the enzymes is that they are lemon scented, which is better than the Borax! Thank you for watching my video. I hope to hear from you again soon! Take care and always have fun!

      Done this or very similar to this but used two old and Kleenex out 250 gallon steel house hold oil furnace fuel tanks.one difference was there was clean out access hatches in the top of tanks in 30 years I pumped out the first tank once. I'm going to now pump both tanks this spring. Just because. I have the same system on my shop. I have a strict policy with written signs saying. Please. No paper or feminine hygiene products to be flushed down this system. Thank you. This in system works with your suport. Thank you. PS I also have lined waist baskets in the heads. For the disposal of these products. That I burn in camp fire or the wood stove. However I believe you will benefit from the add clean out hatches. Rather than these drums you can use septic or sewage pump chambers. Like I say I have been using my systems for over 30 years and this design is very similar. ❤

    • @kevinoneill41
      @kevinoneill41 10 месяцев назад +1

      That's not Kleenex it's cleaned out 250 gallon furnace fuel tanks. With access holes cut out of the top with covers to pump out the tanks if ever needed.
