    I was right in front of Jimmy during this solo ..and my jaw was on the floor..it was one of the most amazing nights of my life ..if only they showed the solo in the SRTS movie...did I say right in front...all these years later and it all seems like a dream

    My favorite JP solo. Such a variety of styles, and chaos, and mastery, and sort of neurotic energy. I guess that's what appeals to me.

    Say what you will about how guitar technique has exploded since 1973, but this kind of stuff is still way harder to learn note-for-note than some of the faster, more linear, technical chops that are considered difficult today. All those in-the-moment-bends and short bursts / flurries of muddled notes. It's a feel thing.

      @@stevenbayron5645 sadly I never made any tabs or transcripts. I think around that time I couldn't leave the house, maybe pandemic times, and so I just sat down with it and memorized it as note for note as I could get. I should have created a tab though while I was in the thick of it.

      Just learn it by ear and slow it down with the RUclips playback feature. It's really fun to pick up some of these Pageisms and then they naturally come out in your improvisation

      @@braydenkissell9247 I can't remember the amp settings. I think everything was set to noon or close to that but it was a Kemper profile of a Marshall 1959 HW 100 watt.

    In your room setup, did the Tele sound better than your Gibbo for this?

      No I think the Gibson would have sounded better but I was just feeling it on the Tele that day. Fender did a nice job on that remake.

      Great solo, and what memory you have! Jimmy surely improvised the majority of the solo but you learnt it note by note. That's very impressive. Congratulations you did a fantastic job 🤘🏻

      @@diegolopezlira3267 thank you. I tried playing it live like that and it came across very stiff and unauthentic. It was a cool project and I learned a lot but it's still better to improvise to sound more like Jimmy. Thank you I really appreciate it😊

      Since I've been loving you, Kashmir, I'm gonna crawl, trampled underfoot, Rain Song, down by the seaside are a few that have great organ/keys. A lot of In through the outdoor is great for JPJ

      Jimmy Page vintage Tele pups. They come stock with the Dragon Tele (Mexican Tele) that Fender started making a few years ago.

Was watching as I just started to look at how the solo was built compared to the recorded version, just watched this clip ruclips.net/video/4gIkyHj1qrU/видео.html&ab_channel=StichMethodGuitar and then found yours. More D minor pentatonic region noodling than I originally thought, thanks so much

    One of the best solo's of all time! Spent years working to get the tone right on my LP neck pickup. Finally got it. Alnico 3 mag in a PAF style PU.
