I came here to write something...but I just don't know what to say. I don't know what I'm more flattened by...that Jimmy Page created this solo that dreams are made of, or this man for giving I would bet was a large portion of his life to bring it to us here as faithfully and honestly as this. Thank you forever, gad dad.
Incredible rendition 👍 Wow that was amazing 😳Now just imagine WRITING that. The phrasing, the note selection. That solo is the very essence of Page’s incomparable genius.
One of the 2 or 3 greatest guitar solos in the history of Rock. Page pulls stuff from deep in his extensive repertoire. The tone is amazing. Genius.. i have heard this solo a thousand times and it still gives me a rush. Never gets old
Practice Practice Practice. You start off with a couple chords then you learn harder faster stuff. Takes Hours, days, weeks and years of practice . You must love the guitar and music.. Oh and the gift. He has the gift for sure .
Only hard part, i think, its memorizing a million notes, one by one, there's mostly no distinct melody, so its just notes notes notes. once they're memorized, months later, then you just go throw the motions until its fluid
This solo has to be one of Jimmy's best - it elevated the whole song to a different level. Also consider that Jimmy rarely if ever played things the same way twice so a lot of this was probably improvised on the fly.
Not just Jimmy, all rock guitarists "improvise" their solos live. However, their ideas are not really improvised. It's comprised of ideas they have practiced many many times.
Jimmy Live, it is sort of " Semi Improvised "... I've heard a few versions from this "73 tour"..A lot of the same licks are used on different nights but they're in a different order or point in the solo..Same with the Stairway solo..Some licks he'd omit on certain nights, sometimes he'd put them in and not often the same place twice...A lot of the licks in this No Quarter solo, albeit Pentatonic, are VERY HARD to execute .While 'Metal Heads' will argue that genres solos are a 'faster bpm tempo' the licks here DO NOT sit under the fingers nicely .Some notes in fast passages are played twice in a row etc which throws a player completely off balance, in contrast most metal solos are a much 'friendlier' 3 notes per string..In this context, this Solo is extremely difficult. Well done to the player here..Nice Job.
@@Allan-et5ig D Dorian mode solo....I explain and replicate Pages Live 1973 Tone on my channel for enthusiasts..It's interesting no mainstream pickup winder has worked out his unbalanced pickup set.
This is my favorite guitar solo! In my opinion this is the highest level playing. It seems like only a few nuances away from the original:)! It takes a LOT of practice to do this! Fantastic job!
I can’t believe it. You’ve done it. This solo is so amazing. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end. It’s iconic. That tone of the bent strings hits me everytime . It must be so satisfying to walk in the shoes of a master. You blew me away.
Absolutely flawless. I doubt Page himself could hit that note for note. What really shines is your bending and vibrato, the thing that really shows you how good someone is as a player.
Hands down this is the best guitar solo covers I've heard on youtube. You don't just sound like a facsimile of Page, you managed to play like him enough to actually convince me that i was listening to page improvising on the spot. Remarkable! More please!
The 9 people who gave the thumbs down on this are imbeciles. I have seen the movie hundreds of times and you literally did not miss a single note. Also, your tone is exactly like Jimmy. I almost cried watching this it is such a thing of beauty. Always hated we didn't SEE this solo in the movie. Thank you
Spectacular is all anyone could say!! Maybe the best cover of this solo that I've seen...To really really nail it, smoke a few dubbies, a couple lines, a pint of jack..perform for an hour or so, then play it standing while moving around.... The genius of Mr. Jimmy " magic fingers Page"....
Even the introductory notes of the solo are amazing and how they are played, where did that come from ?. Pagey must have had some jazz influence. Or was it just his interest in Crowley's magick ?. Well done and cracking LP sir !.
Thanks for letting us watch the whole Jimmy Page No Quarter solo from TSRTS; you don`t get to see it in the movie. Well done sir you are quite talented !!
Yeah those camera man were not guitar players and totally sucked, the whole movie is almost worthless as far as being able to watch Jimmy work his magic. The stupid camera man kept focusing on his face more then anything else. I get so frustrated with that movie visually.
Remember that huge chunks were filmed in England afterwards as the actual live footage was useless. So Jimmy would have had a huge say in the direction.
@@jstar1000 There's a Classic Moment in Dazed and Confused where the cameraman ' going for a close up' , accidently steps on (and engages ) Jimmys Colorsound Wha Wha..
