Penny's IQ was still relevant after his athleticism was Stripped. He still was a match up problem in the lowpost and a lethal stand still shooter from outside. Kobe was just so raw like a combination of 60% Jordan with 40% of VanExel's handles hesitation dribble moves and both their elusiveness.

@@ButtZilla He got the micro fracture surgery after their 2000 playoff run ended. That pretty much took away all the athleticism he had left.
@Shove This L Up Your Ass Would had been an all star reserve, barring injuries. He was better than Finley/Stockton. He peaked in the second half of the season

The Suns clearly got robbed on that game with a clear foul on Hardaway on the drive before the game winning shot by Kobe, but the Lakers would have won the series anyway as no one could stop Shaq
If penny was 100% healthy, even prime Kobe would have a very tough time to guard penny
