The RLM boys were wrong, Dennis is the best. The glasses, the smile, the showmanship... I could watch this for an hour, not just 10 minutes. This is going on loop for my Christmas music this year.
The RLM crew was actually very fair and respectful to him - yes he had to took a few harmless jokes but that was it, they mostly critized the "production values" of the video. It was Billy B. who was the villain of the night and got rightfully slaughtered!
@@KatarnCrusader That's true, I think they were fans of Dennis too; I just think it should have won. Dennis isn't giving sexy looks to the camera, that's not quite the right way to put it. He's just charismatic, loving what he does, and loving to perform.
The fun, camp, and musicianship! This is exactly like my piano teacher, who always loved holiday concerts above all. Maybe it's the legacy of Liberace?
Turned this on as a gag for the family tonight instead of something like a Yule log in the background while we opened gifts. We all had a blast laughing and having a great time. Thank God for Dennis and his amazing talents
We put this on while decorating the house and trimming the tree. It is a beautiful combination of camp and sincerity, and Dennis is an organist par excellence. Mr. Awe will make several more appearances in my house this holiday season. Thanks for posting!
Troy Carlson - I am pleased that you’ve enjoyed the presentation so much! This VHS comes out every Christmas ‘round our bit. We even dig out the old Ferguson Videostar to play it on! (That’s an old VCR from the UK - one with the clunky, push-down keys. Still works as well. They built things to last in them days... eee, by gum!) This is one of those beautiful little diamonds from the wild, wild days of home video. So unironic and earnest. He seems to have jumped out of a Daniel Clowes comic and would be perfect for a Beyond Vaudeville Christmas special.
Glad Dennis is getting the recognition he deserves. Hope he’s still alive… he’s a super great organist. Had this on while we decorated the Christmas tree this weekend.
There needs to be a Slenderman style urban legend about this. The faint haunting sound of organ music in the trees, slowly getting louder. You must gather all the Christmas presents by dawn or face the wrath of Dennis.
I was wondering the same thing. I mean I know they have to condense their discussions through editing for time, but you'd think they'd have brought this up! All through their breakdown of this, the name was mentioned twice, and I kept wondering who the hell was Ralph.
