- We have spent the last spring and summer shifting the way we organize our animals and equipment. Now I have another challenge that may shift the farm's focus entirely.

-We do not offer farm tours or accept visitors
-We do not sell from the farm
-We do not ship our farm's products

I know what you mean Pete. Im going to be shifting away from Dairy and going into beef. I was diagnosed with MS. I want to keep going on as long as I can. I'm deeply saddened by the disappearance of the small family farm that makes it especially hard for me.
Praying for you and your family farm keep pushing forward god bless
I'm an old man now, but when I was a teenager I worked two years on a dairy farm, so I understand the amount of work involved. I really don't know what to say about your diagnosis, except that I and a lot of other farm loving folks on this channel will be pulling for you.
I'm 55 and have MS also. There are homeopathic ways to manage it.
@@angelzhomestead Thanks, I am 56 and learning. My Mother and sister are both RN's. They have been a lot of help.
You clean Alot of poo. I'm realy interested in your work.God bless.
As a retired owner-operator who did the majority of my own maintenance, I would go ahead and build a shop if I could afford it. When you get it up you will wonder how you ever made it without a nice shop. Love the channel and know you will make the best for you and the channel!!!!!!!!1
Agreed.
If there is a demand for a repair channel for these tractors, perhaps treat this like your retirement package? Build the shop now, while you're able to do these repairs and run the farm. Then you'll have it when you undoubtedly shift from the farm labor to other activities you can manage. I'm only 8 years behind you and have had to pivot due to health several times. One slip on the ice in the winter and you may not be able to do the physical labor stuff like you can today. Nice to have a fallback.
From what you've said none of your equipment is dysfunctional. Build the shop now, the equipment will endure. You never know what tomorrow brings. Run to your dream, you won't regret it.
The major draw to your videos for me is your personality and the way you capture your day. Whether you are farming or doing restorations you'll always be entertaining as long as you enjoy what you're doing.
I totally agree what a guy
Totally, as a non farmer or land owner. The way you tell the story is why I subscribe.
Please don’t stop the farming videos! I love all the animals!
You have to follow your heart , with that said I would miss the farm life videos I truly injoy seeing the chores and you and family working on the farm, you guys have such a great place . As always thank you for sharing your day and farm
Dear Pete & Hillary, I appreciate your videos. I wish you luck in the decisions ahead of you. My focus would be on keeping your channel in line with what has made it successful thus far. 90% farm / chores / animals etc, 10% mechanical maintenance. That's my 2 cents
I wish you well in whatever you decide
Best wishes 😊.
Agree for the most part. . . BUT. . . .as much as it is about the specific content that keeps bringing us all back, at least for me, it's even moreso about the content provider. Regardless of the topic of any particular video on just about anything, it's more about the message, intent and delivery from the presenter. Pete's simply. . . DA MAN!
@@seanoverton4581 Absolutely! I'm totally with you. I listen to him talk about his mechanical rebuilds while I am working on my hobby. (I'm a girl) It brings me back to helping my dad rebuild car engines. Love Pete & family and this channel whatever he does!
Pete, do whatever you need to do. Changing gears is hard for old tractors and people. But do whatever you need to do, and don't look back. We're just tickled to death to be along for the ride.
Farming is not just a job, it’s a way of life. Pete, you look tired and worrying won’t help you heal from being sick. We have a small farm where we grow corn and beans and are trying to get a house built so we can live on the farm. Everything takes twice as long as it should but our dream has been to live on the farm. We are both 72 and we aren’t very patient anymore. But, we can only live one day at a time, so we wait and pray that all the hoops are jumpable. Build the shop, fix your tractors up and enjoy your life. God has a plan, just let him work it out. Best of life to you!
Go ahead and "pull the trigger" on the new shop !! You'll be glad you did!! Looking forward to the next tractor project, whatever it is!
And the longer you wait the more expensive it will be
As far as the channel don't change a thing. Repairing equip. is a big part of farming. The shop you obviously need but you have to do what works for you. I enjoy every video no matter what your doing!
Regardless of your decision, you have a lifelong viewer in me. I cannot get enough of any of your videos. Farming, restoration, talking about farming, or walking around equipment auctions... it's all great to me!
As long as you explain what you are doing and add your personality to it, I'll be watching whatevet direction you take the channel. I enjoy the way you tell the story, I respect your principles, morals, ethics and dedication to family. It's the quality of the content and story telling that I enjoy. Seeing the farm life is a bonus on top of it all.
Pete, get some rest. You’ve had a busy month & you’re still recovering from your illness. You still have your sense of humor & keeping on track. Love your videos.
Just do whatever is best for you Pete and your family. Weigh the pros and cons of everything. Hopefully the pros will outweigh the cons and you and Hillary should agree on everything as far as the big projects go. We'll watch your videos regardless of what happens. God bless you all ❤️
Well said.
well said, with an addition, I'm in the 70's, my thought image you were 75 what would have wished you done, a decade goes in a hurry looking back,
but I would agree , peace and planning and with an eye on looking back at 75, how long will you be physically "active" with the ambition to "want" to do something, sadly, "time waits for no man", to me when I had a choice for a major project, I related, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it now and I was 58. Never regretted it, in as little as three to five years, later, I could not have done it, the mind says yes, ….the body says NO.
@leethiel5790 I totally agree with your addition, very well said.
There's one thing for certain be a farmer, you never have to worry about having nothing to do, and decisions to make. Enjoyed the video as always
@@markellis6727 so very true
Who are we to tell you what to do next? You be YOU Pete, pick the choice that will make you happiest 😊. Hilary and you have made awesome choices to keep your farm and RUclips channel going.,..... So we whatever you two decide, we'll all be here to cheer your on. 💕💓💞
Build the shop you want. I did and absolutely no regrets. The more years you wait the more it will cost. Things don’t get any cheaper.
I enjoy the video mix between the tractors, the animals, and the discussions on your thought process behind your decisions, or in the case of this video indecision. When you change your audience will change, but that should not be a factor in what is going to make you happy. As you get older it's nice to make life a bit easier. The shop would do that, and you have two large tractors with rather big restorations, so my vote is to get the shop done now so you can enjoy it. If you wait 10 years you'll be saying why didn't I do this sooner.
Hello, Pete. Never concern yourself with whether the channel will become boring because you choose to do one thing over another. I can assure you that, even if you decided to paint the side of the barn, everyone would find it fascinating. That said the success of your channel is because it’s authentic. You are doing what you truly enjoy and your family members are all contributing, not because they have to but because they want to. No doubt formal restorations are truly interesting but even simple pleasures are interesting because you were sharing them with us. In the end, do what pleases you, and I am sure we will follow anywhere you lead us. God bless you and Hillary, all the members of your family.
I really enjoy the fact that the cows come when called. That speaks to the fact that you have a personal relationship with them! That shows you take care of them.
It is hard to send cows to be processed. I have been there with you and know how it feels. You get attached to them while you are raising them.
For all you people who are watching these wonderful videos, this is as real as it gets!
I love the farm videos.. why i started watching. It gives us a connection most of us don’t have to our food chain ; and an appreciation for those who farm. Just my thoughts..
I really admire your desire to preserve the past (Tractors, implements, etc.) while still trying new things.
I'm 54 and I want to be like you when I grow up! 😉
Decisions decisions? I can't wait for the outcome. Will be here to watch!
Pete, you appear to be tired. I don't think you are fully healed yet. Don't force a decision just now unless you must. Love your channel.
Well Pete whatever you choose to do and how you do it we’ll watch and support ya. 656 will be a big project and don’t feel too pressured by all the viewers. Do what is right for you and your family. We’re behind you no matter what.
Ditto!!
@@RoadRunnergarage8570 ditto!
I love the farming videos, please continue. You could always make a second RUclips channel for the mechanical things. But please don’t stop the farming videos, that is what I’m here for
Seeing the two going into the pen right off the hop...buy yourself a lottery ticket!
I didn't rewatch the video, but I noticed a stronger energy around building the shop, knowing right where you'd put it. I live in Montana and debated whether building an insulated shop (vs an uninsulated smaller garage) would reap any money back down the road if we sold the place. I took my dad's inheritance money and began the shop, and every day we say, wow, so glad we built this shop. Winters are long and dark, but the shop has a cheery wood stove, bright lights, stereo, and it's inspiring to have a project to wake up to in the morning after chores. Turns out, it was a quality of life issue, not a financial or logical issue. Quality of life trumps saving all the pennies. My two cents. Maybe your quality of life dream isn't a shop, but whatever it is, you don't have much time left. I'm 66.
Build the shop! Whether you start the restoration or not, get it built now so it'll be there when you need it. As much as you enjoy restoration work on tractors, I think having a comfortable spot to do the work make you enjoy it even more. Love the farming videos as well as the restoration videos. I think keeping a balance of both is very appealing to your core audience. Keep up the good work!!
I see a farmlife vid, I click it immediately. I see tractor-work, I gather them up and when you reach the end I watch the whole thing in one long sitting. Not being terribly technical, it helps all of it make sense - plus, it’s wonderful to watch the thing get torn apart, tenderly worked on, carefully reassembled. It’s so satisfying.
The building can wait restore the tractor it brings home the money. We don’t know what tomorrow brings but a restoration of a tractor brings happiness.
Do what you love, love what you do. You know what you need to do deep down in your heart.
Pete, your knowledge of the IH/Farmall Tractors is invaluable. I believe you hosting a channel to keep them rebuilt and restored would be of great service to the farming and enthusiast community. You likely don't give it much thought about your tractor knowledge but it is something so many (especially youth) have no idea about. I've learned a great deal from your handful of videos showing your work on repairs and restoration. I believe the mix of farm videos showing daily life along with the Winter time restorations and major repairs would be a good mix. Your call but, know you will continue to receive support from those who have come to enjoy your sharing so much of what you do. We wish you and your family all the very best in all your endeavors.
Cattle 🐄 🐂 🐃 🦬 are so curious, seeing them poke their head here and there as Pete goes about his chores close to them, however, at the same time are so skittish. In the end, their curiosity wins out every time, they just can't help themselves, LOL. 🤔
I think you would be well served by having ONE new/newer/modern/working tractor that’s capable of meeting all of your needs while allowing for your passion for working with/ repairing and restoring older machines . When the new one doesn’t work, call the dealer that sold it to you. Build that shop and do what you like doing. It’s a no brainer. Twenty years will go in a heartbeat, especially if you like what your doing!
As far as you tube videos go, I enjoy the summer farming & the winter tractor work. It's a seasonal change we get to look forward to.
I agree love it 👍
Agreed..love the seasonal variety
Pete and Hilarie, you both, as a partnership, should decide what is best for your family, future, and happiness. That is all that really matters. I think one of the bigger questions is how much farming do you see yourselves doing in the next 20 years? What will be the scale and focus of your businesses as you age? Answer with your heart and head, the rest will fall into place. BTW, loved your book Pete❤
Pete, do what you want to do! The loader has to come off the 656 before it can be restored. If the 756 is sound why not put the loader on it to get by while you are working on the 656. Once the 656 has been restored if you want another loader tractor you could then buy and fix it up for the 656. Meanwhile using the 756 with a loader you didn't have to buy.
It was a pleasure to finally meet you... I came up on the labor day weekend but you were a bit busy with the morning rush. I wish I could have stayed longer, but that was not the day. I bought a pound of bacon and 2 ribeyes from you, and both of those items made it back to southern Mass with me at my wife's family clambake. We sampled the bacon along with our lobster and steamers.... and the next day we grilled up the steaks... I was pleasantly surprised and might consider the Dexters provided they can make it down here in the Texas heat..
Hope to see you again one day, in between getting our operation up and running, and work and life.. Your channel is the one I watch regularly. No sensationalism, no clickbait. Sure there is some "boring" and "repetition" but you are teaching others more than you think you are, and I've watched your farm evolve over the years. I've watched your tractor collection grow, and you try different things, make an analysis of how it worked for you, and make a decision.
We are just getting started... currently raising:
Red Wattle pork..
Layers
Doing our first few turkeys this year.
Next year will be broilers and starting up the beef herd.
Dave, from a small town in Texas you've never heard of (North Zulch Texas)
I'm not gonna lie, seeing Peanut on deck hits the feels a little. But I understand that's life on a farm. I also have to admit, your wrenching videos are some of my favorite content on your channel Pete.
One of the best things about your channel is seeing the restoration process done properly and then actually seeing it back in use on a farm as it was intended.
Pete, may you just take one step at a time. Start with the smallest and go from there. Maybe the 856 will be your retirement project.❤❤❤
I will keep interested and watching whatever direction your family choses. You seem to always have a great mix of content.
My starting idea Pete is to make a workshop addon like you did the barn. You can do both tractor restoration and farming as you have always done. For me who is working toward a small farm, helps me. For my mom, she loves watching all sides and parts to farming. Thanks as always. Have a blessed day and the family as well. Until next time.
For what it is worth, I come to watch the farming videos. I'm not into the restoration stuff, but I appreciate that may be your passion. Do what makes you happy, and the viewers will follow because they are drawn to your enthusiasm. I love seeing you raise the pigs too. Gardening, harvesting walnuts, and all things farm life are enjoyable to watch.
Decisions, decisions. That is one thing I am constantly wrestling with. A happy medium works for me.
All your videos are great, but the tractor restoration are my favorite by far!
Pete my husband Dave and I love your videos. As far as your channel goes, do what’s best for you and your family. No sense in going back to feeling the way you did when doing architecture. You never have a dull moment so there should always be content.
I understand the shifting, You are indecisive.
I would terribly miss the farm videos if you chose tractors
I just enjoy everything you both do. I wait for the videos , I search for the new one if I was busy.
I love your interaction with the vocal cows. And your pigs are also enjoyable
I honestly can't help you make a decision because I love everything
Sorry🥰
Thanks Jeanette. The farm videos will continue no matter which way we go. But as Hilarie and I age, we expect to have fewer animals.
Time passes quickly when you are having fun. Contentment, a feeling that guides both of you. Keep that in mind and you cant go wrong.
I like you are on a daily bases looking for the newest video. Something about the charm effect
The tractors are huge part of your operation and on this channel. However, the whole reason I watch your channel is for the farm and animals. I am voting for you to build a shop, so you have more room to do what you so love to do.
To be honest (though I may be a little bias) I would build the shop first. I'm also a very hands on guy doing all my own mechanical work for many years. One of my biggest regrets is not building a good shop for myself. Even though I did take all of my gear from home at one stage into a rented premises to run my own business, I'm now back at home without the shop that I really should have built years ago. While I don't like having regrets in life, that is certainly one of them. Many of us love your channel the way it is, the farming & the odd bit of tractor resto work, I personally feel it goes hand in hand. When I was farming I too restored, modified or even built my own equipment, it just seemed natural to me being a farmer I repaired my own gear & still do! Just do what is right for you.
Pete it’s been a true pleasure watching your farm grow, but I found that building more space to store things leads one to buy more things. ❤️🚜🎥
I can't tell you how much I enjoy your channel. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Just expand on the shop you have to cut some expense. Your heart is in restoration and we love seeing it on RUclips.
No matter what you and Hilary decide to do,I will always watch your channel! I love the way you present your self and your family, weather you are farming or restoring.
I would really miss the animals and the farm work if you went totally tractor in your focus. I'm a girl (well a 59 year old girl) and I never knew I would enjoy hearing about tractors and the different types and uses for each and of course the maintenance. But I really tune in for the animals and farm work. It's oddly relaxing!
Crazy It seems like just last winter peanut was locked in the pen next to the pigs. It never ceases to amaze me how much I follow along in the portion of your life that you share.
Stick with animals I like the piggy’s. What ever makes you happy that’s what you should do.
I love watching the farm videos! I love your positive attitude and when I am having a bad day I am always excited to watch Just a Few Acres! And keep telling your jokes!
1st-build the shop.
2nd-over the next five years wean off of and wind-down farm work videos (cause of work load and age).
3rd-over next 5 years slowly increase mechanical stuff videos.
4th-we all love you guys and don’t stop creating content, no matter what you decide, we will be watching!
I always say if it's not broken don't fix it, meaning your doing best of both worlds now w/ about 500,000 viewers. I love both animals and tractor work, I am 66yrs. Young .lol .
I just like the way yours and Hillaries life styles are. Farming!! I Crack up everytime Orden speaks like he is disgusted w/ the girls. Lolol. Always look forward to your videos. Thank you both and family for sharing your world with the rest of us!! Blessings 🙌 always ❤😊🎉 Marion
Continue to follow what most stimulates your passions! Keep it simple, plenty of time to think it over. Thanks for reaching out for comments.❤
All I know is that I’m at peace with the world when I turn on your channel and watch those cows, steers, chickens, kitties and pigs. Moving things from here to there in those wonderful old trackers of yours. Nothing bothers me and It doesn’t matter what it is your showing, I know I’m gonna like it, no if’s or buts about it.
Thank you Mr. Pete and Ms Hillary for the enjoyment of your company🌹
Pete needs a plan of action to totally rebuild that old tractor. I guess a start would be with mother nature playing a roll. A lot of cold rainey days, snowy days and a warm place would go a long way to see this tractor 🚜 all dolled-up again as it once was. 🌝
Restoration videos would be awesome but as a farm kid who grew up on the farm and now getting back into farming I truly love watching all your content. It is very inspiring.
Pete, I just started watching this year but now I’m hooked and eagerly await each video. I’m a farm boy myself but went into the military as an aircraft mechanic. Now retired and 56yrs old I have learned to do what thrills you most as time and death are fickle. Build the shop so you have a proper safe place to overhaul your tractors. Small spaces crammed with heavy parts are inherently dangerous and you don’t need to put yourself out of commission trying to “make do”. Live life to its fullest now. Tomorrow might not come. Keep up the awesome videos whether it’s farming or restoration I’ll be here waiting for each one. Cheers from Alberta Canada. 😊
Thank you for sharing all that you do. I am a 61 year old farm boy living in a city. Life choices took me away from raising sheep and baling hay! My Dad was a gentleman farmer/collage professor who didn't understand machinery thus I repaired the equipment. Many, many years ago! Watching your youtube is relaxing and brings back memories! Thanks! Its a great mix for me! Your right there is nothing like finishing mowing hay. The smells are awesome.
I get to watch your amazing videos for another 20 years. Life is good.
Please don’t quit the farm videos. I wait and check everyday for new ones. When it’s tractor restoration I groan and try to watch, but it just isn’t the same on my end.
Keep doing exactly what you have been doing all along. It is great. The mix makes it more interesting to me!
Please do not change your farm videos. We love watching
Get your shop going for inclement weather and your pleasure….that’s my vote. You are a master spokesperson to deliver intelligent methods of farming and the maintenance programs. Your nature and your family…perfect.
Love the farming videos and the restoration videos. My husband tinkers with old tractors. He said ‘yes! Build a shop!’ You’ll be glad you did! And ‘yes! Restore the tractor in the new shop!’ Love what you do!!!!
I was going back over some of your videos of the past 4 years , and watched how you guys have evolved on your videos , when you guys are debating change in your videos and farm journey I hope you go back over these older videos and all the messages, and memories you and your family have made for yourself and your viewership, and know you have made a difference in this person day , as I am Sure many others, thank you very much
I await your videos more than I do the TV shows that air on network tv. Doesn't matter the content. You are a storyteller. You love what you do, the animals, and you love sharing it with us. I will watch whatever you post without hesitation. This channel is pure entertainment and it feels like I have a best friend in you! Even if you don't know me.
Figuring out the questions is the first step! You all are so smart and thoughtful that answers will come and then maybe more questions and then more answers.
Never thought I’d enjoy watching tractor restoration, but here I am.
I’m your same age born in 1969 and I’m still figuring out what I want to be when I grow up, too.
Spent 20 years leading corporate HR. Now I have my own tiny farm and this is the time of year to do a “tear down” of this year and figure out what’s next for 2024.
Much love to you all!
If it will take 2 winters to do the 656, then start it in the old shop this year and finish it in the new show next year. Love the winter time tractor restos even if you don't get them all done in one year. Plus leaves viewers something special to look forward to.
This is the spouse of the picture.. keep breathing.. You are doing good.. The cousins and I got pushed all the way out of farming over this last generation.. Glad you are in a blessed predicament.. Hard work.. Hard choices.. Good work.. Good choices.. Keep sleeping on it until it comes.. 👍🙏
Pete, I'd watch you guys do just about anything! I love your personality and perspectives! Just keep sharing whatever it is that you're doing! Thanks!
Pete The variety that you have now is great. It catches the interest of many different areas.
You and Hillary are great examples of how to treat other people, and to take good care of animals. As if that wasn't enough you have shared your wisdom and common sense about how to do things and how to be good stewards of your blessings.
Pray about your decisions and ask the Lord for His direction.
And keep wearing that Hawkeye shirt!
Blessings
Two is one, one is none. Currently you don’t have a backup ready to go. Pete, I’d recommend starting with the 756 while you continue to use the 656 since it’s still working. Once completed you will have the 756 is great shape and don’t have to rush the 656. Not a small job, but the least amount of risk and well worth the peace of mind for the years to come.
Smart money says you should get your shop done. Make sure it is a little bit bigger than you think you need. You won't regret it.
I enjoy watching both your farming videos and the tractor rebuild series. Started watching your videos because i like seeing and hearing the old tractors run but i kept watching because of you. Your kindness and upbeat attitude is not only refreshing but also inspiring. I'm sure whatever you decide to do, people will watch.
Change is difficult, especially when you're not feeling your best. You and Hillary take care of yourself. I enjoy your channel and have learned a little about farm machinery from you. At 71, I don't feel that I'll ever have a need to use that info, but I enjoy learning.
I had to take some time out and work on my own health this year. I hope that things will be better from this time and I look forward to watching more of your channel.
Prayers for health and safety!!!🙏❤🙏
My dad always said… the more things you own, the more things you have to fix. It never stops.
I always enjoy seeing the farm from the sky. It gives such a nice overview of how things work. I am a warm weather person more and more in my old age. I enjoy, spring, summer, and fall. But winter, while the snow is beautiful until you have to work in it or move it. Then about 2 weeks of that and I'm ready for spring again. Unfortunately, it seems winter drags on and on while spring and summer are quickly passing. But the point is, life is full of change all the time. Maybe the word is "ADAPTATION". It seems we constantly have to adapt to the circumstances in life. I think the worst thing we can do, especially after we get older, is to bite off too much at one time. I always enjoy how you and Hilarie seem to have the ability to analyze and plan and then adapt to most any situation. There is nothing better than a good cup of coffee and a video from you folks. Well done!
Pete, I have been following you over the past couple of years. I have enjoyed all the content you have created. As it relates to what you asked feedback for, my thoughts start with planning for the future. You are not getting younger so… #1 continually working to simplify your operations (and remain profitable), while simultaneously #2 taking steps to build your new shop (you need this sooner than later), and finally #3 taking only absolutely necessary steps to repair equipment. Concerning the channel content…I prefer the mix of every-day farm life and tractor restoration.
Pete, you don’t need me to tell you , but you know you will not be content until you redo do the 656 International and the 2000 loader. You can put it off but it will always be on your mind until the rebuild is completed.
You are right.
Just found this channel. Not everyone is good in front of the camera but you guys are naturals. Keep the good stuff coming.
DON'T STOP ON THE PIG'S! that was such a great direction you started going when you planned the expansion to the quality pork production.....your farm depends on a steady income and the pork added to the quality beef is vital to the overall longevity of your utilization of the "JUST A FEW ACRES FARM"..... good luck on your decision.
I worked at my local zoo for a few years, and Orden sounds just like the male lion, getting ready to roar! Makes me nostalgic 😊 Patty always reminds me of a donkey braying too! Much love from Oklahoma!
I love the well rounded, all encompassing, busy day to day minutia. The sights, sounds of the ALL of the animals. The manure. And If it ain't broke don't fix it. Keep doing what you're doing. I look forward to every animal moving day and all of the head scratches. Please don't stop!
Pete and Hillary… whatever you feel is best is the right path. Thank you both ❤❤
"everything's searching for equilibrium on a farm" stuck with me. thanks Pete and hope you find the equilibrium :)
4:45 it’s nice to see cows in the new part of the barn.❤❤❤❤
I totally get the shifting part for the farm. We did that just last year by selling most of the cattle and going into grain. Its a nerve wrecking choice that hold a ton of uncertainty but looking back a year later, we are quite happy. My father who will be turning 60 wanted a huge shop all his life so he could do wood working and restore tractor. After the last few years of pricing out a 40 by 50 ft shop, he came to the conclusion that the price to build it just does not make sense. So he shifted his plans and turned a bay from one of our pole sheds into his restoration shop and build a small addition onto his garage for much less. It might not be exactly what he wanted with all the fancy stuff but he is happy with it. That is one thing you could do too. Take the last bay of your shed and turn it into a heated shop. its quite cheap and not too much work to build it since the tructure is there. Just a idea.
I like your idea. I was thinking the same thing.
Pete, your restoration videos are second to none. You are Norm from New Yankee Workshop for farm machinery. The best part of your videos is the explanation of how it is supposed to work and what it will take to get there. There are many many many farmers or kids that grew up in farms (me) that have very fond memories of these horses. We had a Super M that we used daily to run the grinder mixer. Then an O 88 eventually a 656 hydro. My opinion is that you build a shop for restoration videos. Start a new channel called “This old Tractor” (my dream, not gonna happen). Include interview of guys that worked these horses back in the day. History lesson. What was going on back when they bought them. How hard was it to acquire…… How they paid for them. How they used them. Restore anything farm related. Machinery, different brands. Everything being restored to use for you or someone else. Go go go.
Plan for what you will be able to do when you are 75, so that when you get there, you can do so with ease. One of the best people around that can help you on this is your dad.
My business is a completely different one, but I totally agree: any shift or change takes a lot of thinking while you do the daily chores!
Being ill changes our perception of our world and our life. Don't make major decisions when you're sick or recovering.
I really like your winter restoration and summer farmlife format.
Keep recovering and take care of yourself, Pete.
Pete life goes by so fast and you won’t regret spending money on things that make happy. Building a shop won’t be any regret as we get older. You asked for our opinion this is mine keep the videos coming as we enjoy trip along the way with you whatever it is.
Move round bales next to winter feed rails. Push on with big tractor. Buy a restore square baler. Rent (trial sponsor?) a big tractor to clean out barns if your big tractor breaks down. Work on your own big tractor and attachments over next 12-18 months.
