amzlv The canvas tote actually reminds me of the Hermes Garden Party too. Thanks for making this video to suggest more budget friendly alternatives. love it!
Corey, Nice job with this review. I appreciate how you held each bag to give an idea of how it looks and carries. I also appreciate the description of the types of leather and how they will wear. Your showing how much each bag holds was also very helpful. Of all the reviews I have watched (I may be obsessed with this thing) I feel yours was the most beneficial.
So great to see a comprehensive review of both sizes! Thanks a ton for posting this, it really helps to be able to get a side by side review! made up my mind.............
Excellent review. I really appreciate that you wore both the medium and large to show how it would look on the body. It's been hard trying to figure out how the large might look on me until this video. I may have to go with a medium now instead of the large.
Nice review; these are great bags but expensive and should be considered more of an investment rather than just a purchase. Your video helped out a lot!!!!
I think it's important to realize this face about Saddleback gear. Dave is a big, tall, rustic and strong man who travels a lot and wants something durable and tough. He doesn't care if something is a bit heavy and bulky if it means it will last. He's the one who designed these things from his own ideas of what he considers important. Are the bags for everyone? No. If you don't like the weight, then perhaps another brand is better. Personally, I don't mind the weight so these bags are adequate for me.
Excellent question! Actually it was the original owner that removed them. He said that they got stuck under the seat in front of him while flying and took them off to remove that annoyance.
Finally took the plunge and got the L coffee brown bag. When you said mobile office and weekend trip you basically described what I needed. Lol I really wish a shorter person did a review on these bags (I'm a 5'9 man). But its all adjustable so it shouldn't be an issue.
I’m still here! Don’t post much, but still am active on YT. Can’t believe it’s been 9 years since I posted this. In the nearly one decade since I have used this bag a ton. On some occasions it’s been an overnight bag, but mostly it has carried laptops, notebooks, and electronics as part of my corporate job. This bag does everything I could ever need except be my lightweight option. When I want to travel light I use my Large Round Satchel. Please let me know if you have specific questions! Thanks for watching!
I have the older DCB medium briefcase in suede lining with lobster clasp. I travel alot and I prefer the lobster clasp because I can operate it with one hand which is more convenient when I need to rush in the London underground.
Thanks for the review! Like others, this has helped me decide on the coffee brown... Whew, I was close to getting tobacco - while looks great for some people, this showed me that it's not my style.
+Markus Iesonmann Hi Markus, thanks for the insight. I did end up going with the coffee brown, and I absolutely love it. Getting better every day :) I bet that chestnut will look great too. Cheers.
There are many SLB BC reviews on YT, so thank you for saying that mine one of the best. I have a 13" MBP from 2012. When it is in the sleeve it fits in the Md bag with no room to spare, but fits in the Lg with an inch or two to spare. I hope this helps! The SLB customer service is also very good if you have more questions regarding sizes of their products.
Hi, I really enjoyed your video. I'm 5'9'' and about 200 pounds but the deciding factor for me was that the large size seemed comically large when I was wearing it. If only the medium was just a tiny, tiny bit wider it would be perfect. Cheers
awesome video! Very thorough but not boring at all (not being sarcastic)! i got my bag almost a yr ago and it's very true about the weight thing. It was super heavy at first then with the laptop in there...I started reconsidering it....but I got use to it fairly quickly and absolutely love the bag even more now :) Hope to see more reviews soon!
The hardware is actually high grade stainless steel as Dave had said himself on one of his vids. So better than nickel plated. That's why i'm getting his bags
It's interesting you mentioned pig skin lining. I bought a briefcase from www.leathercompany.co.uk they don't do pig skin in their products as they said it's a cheap leather and absorbs moisture. I bought the classic three gusset briefcase from there, it's beautiful. I like those briefcases too in your video but don't like the backpack loops too much going on imo
there is another version (Cool Cowhide Leather Multiple Laptop Backpack Day pack Travel Bag Stachel) yeah... really long name lol.. may i ask you, where did you bought it? is it "polare original website" ? also, this back you are reviewing is the same as this time model (2016) and i can't find any reviews on the first bacpack i mentioned
I love the fact that these bags use real straps and buckles to close the bag. I hate those straps that use the metal tabs to make it look like a strap and buckle is closing the bag. Those tabs are obviously fake and have all the style of a clip-on tie worn by a grown man. JM2C of course.
+Markus Iesonmann Excellent information! For my needs, the medium briefcase and messenger are far too small. I load the up the back section of my BC with books, notes, and occasionally my laptop. The front pockets are filled with stationary items. The side inside pockets usually hold a flashlight, knife, and leather. The front section hold my lunch for the day, sometimes an umbrella, and other miscellaneous items. On many occasions, I've used my large briefcase as a weekend bag. I can fit 3 or 4 changes of clothes in there depending on the climate and my toiletries. It fits well in a car seat or in a plane's overhead storage. At this time, I have no need for any other bag. I do have the leather addiction and am looking at getting a Satchel and Page Slim Mailbag. Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked the video.
+Markus Iesonmann I think you could get away with using the Medium BC. I would caution you about weight. Remember, it's not the bag that makes your load heavy, it's what you put in it. I can walk around all day with nothing in my bag. If I load it up with books and a laptop, I want to sit down all the time. If you pack smartly, you can probably get away with a Medium BC. If you pack lightly, you can get a Large BC and it won't break your back. Also, the Large BC is going to be much better when using it as luggage (in my opinion). You can't go wrong with either one. If you can, I'd recommend buying both and returning one.
One of the best reviews of these bags....great job.
Thank you for your kind words!
PrometheusLoire I really appreciate your comment! This motivates me to do other videos!

Fantastic review! The comparison between the sizes is exactly what I was looking for.

Dude, now THIS is what I wanted to hear. I travel much by motorcycle and I don't mind a heavy, durable bag either. I'm sold. Thank you.
Thanks for your kind words!

Great! Did you get it yet? I'm curious what you think of it.
Any update mate? Would love to see your thoughts if you're still around. Much love thanks for the review

This is a good video! Extremely informative and helpful in deciding on the right size!

Great review, Corey. I've seen a good few saddleback reviews as well. Keep up the great work.
I agree completely! I'm glad my video helped!
I have had no problems! I've heard the complaints too but they've never given me any trouble.
GREAT REVIEW by the way :)
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked the video! I definitely would prefer suede, but the pigskin doesn't bother me so much. Take care!

Thanks, Andrew! Wanted to do this bag justice!
Nice presentation!
solid review, Thanks much. I'm days away from dropping $600 on a SB bag...

I'm glad you liked it! I'm planning some Frost River videos in the future.
I appreciate your input/video.

Great video, I want one so bad
Thanks, great video and good looking wear on the lighter one.
Nice Review, Recently got lucky on a Daves Deal Chestnut XL Classic Briefcase in Suede for 25% off.
Super useful video.
I'm glad to hear it. Thanks!
it would be nice to have a link to where we can buy this stuff
Great review. Love the bag, however, I think that it is too pricey. One day I'll be able to buy one.
Bloody excellent review. Thanks!
Great Vid man, very informative. Large it will be for me, when the time comes. Thanks my friend
Thank you for the kind remark!
Just out of curiosity, why did you remove the outside straps on the Med TB bag?
Glad to hear it!
very informative, thanks
Very informative!
Thank you very much!
When you were wearing it, was the strap set as long as it goes?
Well done video!
great video
Dan, no. The strap still has 13 more holes, which I guesstimate to be 13 inches.
Thank you!
Well done!!!!!!
Thank you!
really nice, just too expensive for me.

nice man
Got to love Saddleback. Wrote my own review here, too: www.weftyandmash.com/2014/05/spring-saddleback-update-post-travels.html

intro song’s title pleaze
It's an original song called Punishment by RUclipsr 666WinkMuffin. I don't think he has it anywhere online.

4:41, your legs are of alien quality
Made in USA or communist china?
Neither, the company is based in Texas but they do manufacture in Mexico I think.
Thank you very much !
