I’ve had mine for over 2 years. To this day I enjoy shooting with it like it’s the first time I ever carried it. So much fun with incredible image quality. Have fun!
This is the most hardcore unbox Leica I’ve ever seen lol when you threw the box it shocked me. Btw I like reporter version as well especially the m10 one.
I got the Q2 for almost the same reasons. I travel for work a lot and wanted to have something (other than my phone to force me out of my hotel and conference rooms to explore the cities around me). Well done.
I thought long and hard about a Q2. Finally decided to pull the trigger. Walked into the camera store and walked out with a A1 and a 35mm GM. Best decision I’ve made. Nice camera tho, enjoy.
I cringed when you tossed the box - ouch. I have a Q2 Reporter as well - love it, a Q2 Monochrom and I just sold my X100V. Sold the X100V for more than I paid new!. The Q2 is wonderful - enjoy!
3:03. I really want to thank you for this. It is a contribution to humanity. I've been watching a lot of videos about a Canon M50 I have, and a Sigma 16mm I want to buy, that's how your video was suggested to me.
I have a canon m50 I use as my main, and it does incredible work for the price point. Great bang for buck. I do still want to upgrade, but there's not a lot to complain about on the m50.
@@mallorydavisphotography It's a crop sensor camera, and I've had enough experience to know it won't be a 1:1 competitor, but for RUclips, social media. and semi-po work, it's more than enough IMO. I'd love to see a rundown though!
@@corbinpearce7686 It is a great camera. But when I bought it, I had no idea what a “clean HDMI output” was, neither did I know that it would go dark after 29min59sec. It doesn’t serve me good for streaming. Now looking to upgrade to mark ii, for this exact reason, it was perfectly improved for this purpose.
The lens cap is felt lined. My only recommendation is to order a Otect Q-cap to replace the original lens cap. I did and it works great. The problem with the felt is that it will loosen or tear takiking the cap on and off
So far so good! I plan on doing a follow up video soon, but the big thing I can say is my Sony cameras feel automatic in terms of adjusting settings while shooting… the Leica is just different! Still trying to get comfortable with that aspect but the photos have been 🔥
@@mallorydavisphotography excellent. The lens is amazing and the colors are great. I was able to shoot handheld at 1/10 of a second. I left my M11 at home and just used the Q2!!
Incredible camera built like a tank! I have the regular Q2 and I’m very happy! I also have the X100V, also great but the Q2 feel is incredible! Be safe, Cheers..
I really want this camera, the reporter edition. You wouldn't happen to be wanting to sell yours, would you?? 😅 Kidding, but sort of. It looks so snazzy and the lens alone is worth it. I've downsized my whole kit but still need more than what the iPhone 14Pro offers, especially since I travel a bunch.
Hahaha I have zero desires to get rid of this baby!!! It's been such a powerful addition to my every day carry. Couldnt agree more - the 14Pro is AWESOME... but still not fully to a dedicated camera. Thanks for watching, Larry!

What a cool camera. Would love one of these but that price though! I would like to know your thoughts on the camera after using it for a while. If you could compare it to your a7 3 with a similar lens that would be interesting. I have owned my X100V for the last 18 months and I couldn’t be happier. The film simulations are a lot of fun (I have 4 custom recipes to emulate old film cameras). The build quality on the x100v is excellent as well and I have thrashed it to get the photos I need in the tropics. ND filter helps for long exposures. I’m still learning the features of it as it is definitely a pro camera. Good luck with the channel, you have a new subscriber following closely 👍

I know that you don’t buy a Leica for the best “bang for buck” but it would be good to see how much extra you are getting for the additional cost. @@NorthOz You can use crop lines and shoot like you have a 28, 35, 50 and in a real pinch, 75. It's sort of like a digital equivalent of the tri-elmar 28-35-50. I don't know much about the x100v but doubt you could do that even in Lightroom because of the lower resolution and small sensor size. That's also seems to be against the intent of the x100v. That's probably the only meaningful difference in functionality.
I've very intrigued with the Q2. Still using my Sony RX1 as my go-everywhere; but like many, gear lust sometimes overrides reason. That said, I have no doubt that the Q2 would be very nice upgrade over my 10 year old RX1.
My RX1R still surprises me everyday, the picture you can take with F2 full frame is so satisfying when the camera actually follow your command, with my smartphone I can only hope the automatic does what I want.

Because I researched the Q2 as an option for eight months. I debated between this camera and the Leica Summilux 28mm f1.4. Interesting to see someone have almost the same thoughts 🤗 I had the X100V for a few weeks because of the hype and to be honest, for me removing the emotions out of the equation it was not that much better compared to my Sony ZV E10 with a Sigma 30mm 1.4, if you look at the price difference. Sold the X100V for a small profit and got Q2 Monochrome. Tried it out at a Leica store and was impressed. Wanted to try out this low light beast and got a very good deal used with full warranty. I’m curious what your experience will be with the Q2. Happy shooting 😊

@@mallorydavisphotography Can't speak for the V but I had and loved the OG the T and the F lovely cameras. I couldn't get a V in NZ so went insane and shelled out for the Q2, sadly stupidly killed it in 14 days, in that time loved it aside from the noise at 3200 pretty pants. Can't wait for the Q2 to get back from German hospital.
The Leica is a wonderful camera but it has become dated and needs some serious upgrades. I have the q2 and the a7rv. The leica takes wonderful pics but if you are going to use crop to do up to 70mm then it needs higher MPs. It also needs a faster processor. It's starting to get long in the tooth and needs a major update to compete. The q3 is hopefully coming out soon.
I hear you! As a new Leica user it has felt great to me for most cases, and selfishly I hope the Q3 doesn’t come out soon as I JUST grabbed this thing 😅
Slowly saving for the day I can afford a Leica, but until then, the Fujifilm X-T4 with the new 18mm f/1.4 prime gives me the closest & best results to a full frame 28mm on any mirrorless platform. It's funny how there isn't a single good full frame mirrorless 28mm lens from Sony/Canon/Nikon.

@@mallorydavisphotography No worries! Audio quality IS very important however sometimes (as in this case) content trumps any quality issues. Btw, I think you meant "onbody" mic, not "inbody" (unless you were born wired for the digital age) 😁😅!
I would have watched more of your video; but your audio is terrible. At least get a lapel mic cabled to your camera or the new DJI wireless setup. Good luck.
Ok I hear you! And part of me wishes I’d picked that one up, but I just can’t get over the feel of it. Like it feels SO different than the other alpha bodies (material wise) but I do love how compact that little thing is!
@@mallorydavisphotography for me sony just need to put front dial and ID be happy with it, it's still build solidly, way better than A7III was, (esp on the doors) and I care more for portability anyway. That's exactly why I decided to pick an RX1R instead of an A7ii way back in the days.

Enjoy it! I had the reporter with me when I was back for one month to Europe last summer. Didn’t feel like I needed any other camera.

RX1 is wonderful!! I’m still trying to determine if the price tag is justifiable… I plan on doing some head-to-head videos soon… so more to come!

Great question! I think they pushed it to the limit, but I’m not 100% sure!
