    I regret not having done my research on how to properly care for my daughter's hair earlier. She unfortunately lost all of her back hair between the ages of 6 and 9 months. Thankfully, new hair is growing now, and this video has provided me with valuable insights.

I've mistakenly been washing her hair every day and for moisture been using just regular coconut oil so looking forward to try these products. Aww! You're so welcome Sarah. I didn't know what I was doing either with my first daughter, so it's all trial and error. You're doing great! You definitely don't have to wash her hair everyday, but if you feel like the coconut oil is enough for her hair, then that's okay! They still don't need much at that age. But I just knew Amori's hair needed a little more love, lol. Yes, I am hoping to get her updated routine recorded soon. Life has been busy though. Haha!

    My daughter is 3 weeks old. When she gets to your baby’s age to put just a extra product in what moisturizer do you use? We use the Shea moisture raw Shea chamomile & argan oil & coconut oil as of now. I didn’t do a lot of research with my first born and was just doing stuff lol but I actually want to get this right with my second daughter lol. Thank you for this video as well 🤍

    • @blendedfields
      @blendedfields  3 года назад +4

      Aww!! Congrats on your baby! 🥰 Right now, I added in Shea Moisture Kids Spray Detangler and Kids Curling Butter Cream (both from the coconut & hibiscus line)! I love Shea Moisture so I usually just stick with their company for a lot of things! I started added it in when she was about 4.5 months old or so. I would have held off a little longer since babies hair doesn't need much, but her hair was staying dry a lot. So it's all dependent on your babies hair. It's definitely so much better now with the extra products. Thanks so much for watching Mariah! ☺️

    Hello! I'm not certain u will receive this message being the vid is a yr old. This is my 2nd time watching, once while pregnant, and now my little girl is here {she's 2months} and what I am only using once a week is coconut oil after her weekly shampoo. I only comb and especially brush her hair at time of oil application. I didn't know if I should between. My daughter is bi-racial, so I just thought to leave it be in between 🤷🏾‍♀️ Ur sharing is so beneficial. If you have any additional knowledge of this please I Am listening

      @blendedfields  Год назад +1

      Hi Yosonda! Newborn hair definitely doesn't need a lot during that time, so you do not have to add any additional oil in between washes. But if you feel like your babies hair is getting a little dry or needing more moisture, you can absolutely apply some! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

      Aww! Twins! You must have your hands full. Lol. Congrats! But yes, babies don't need much done to their hair. Now that's she's older, I actually use my finger more too. I don't use the brush as much unless I'm detangling after the shampoo. I'm learning her hair more and more as it's changing.

    My son is 2 months and I’m having to relearn this cradle cap all over my first is 10 he didn’t have it. I’ve been using virgin olive oil and water with the comb that comes in the cradle cap kit. But for some reason it’s bringing his hair out where the cradle cap is . What are the best African American baby hair products to use?

    • @blendedfields
      @blendedfields  2 года назад +2

      Hey Tiffany! Amori had some mild cradle cap, and I used the Mustella Shampoo Mousse for her with the Shea Moisture Coconut Oil. It went away after a couple of washes. I think it is normal for some of the hair to come out when your trying to get off those flakes. My first daughter had it really bad and I ended up needing to consult her pediatrician and get a prescription shampoo. So you can try what we did but if it doesn't help, consult with her doctor!

    My baby is 4 months old and seems like she might soon have my hair mixed with her daddy’s hair. My hair is like 4a & 4b type of curly and he has soft, but thick textured waves. Our baby’s hair is starting to finally show waves that are tighter than her dad’s, so…. Is this still ok to use on babies that do not have very curly hair?

    When showing the products your using. Place it in the camera longer and let the camera focus. When you just flash it, it’s not very helpful. granted you put it in the comment sections but for people to verify they got the right one it would be nice to see the container. Outside of that, great video! Very simple and I definitely plan to try it out.

      Hey! Thanks for your feedback. I just looked back at the video again, and the product was in screen for 5 seconds, I think that's long enough for people to take a quick screen shot. Regarding the quality, it was in focus. I know sometimes you may have to change your playback settings on the video to get the highest quality on YT. But like you said, it's in the description box and it's also in the thumbnail. So I think all around, people will get the right product! Anyway, thank you for your support! If you do end up trying it, let me know how everything works for you!

      Hi there! Sorry for my delay, but I would try to focus on getting extra moisture in those dry spots in the hair. It's more than likely the friction that is caused from the way babies sleep. Hopefully this routine can help with moisture!

    Hey mama! Just a little friendly advice. Coconut oil molecules are too big to penetrate the hair shaft and so it really just sits on the hair and causes buildup and the temperature it would take to properly wash out coconut oil from hair is actually really damaging, which we obviously cant use those high heats on our babies hair so its actually not moisturizing their hair its really doing the opposite and drying it out and it’s causing buildup preventing the proper moisture from breaking into the hair! Definitely not coming for you just giving you some friendly advice because a lot of people are misinformed! It just feels soft and moisturized because its sitting on top of the hair (:

    • @GirlBooSwerve
      @GirlBooSwerve 2 года назад +1

      I just seen your updated routine and that could explain why her hair is dryer than normal! Look into different oils that their molecules can penetrate the hair shaft and just swap them out and you will notice a HUGE difference (:

      Hey!! I am so late replying, but I wanted to say thank you for the info! I am all about growth and trying different things, so I appreciate your comment! I actually don't use the coconut oil on her hair anymore (every now and again I will grab it, lol). Do you have suggestions on other oils that are better? My favorite lately has been Jamaican black castor oil.
