Most citizens abide the law and those that don’t will get guns illegally and if we give good guys more gun freedom, there is a higher chance that a shooting can be stopped as people will use their guns against the criminals

Honestly same, I just always call myself an independent or just say I don't choose a side, because I have some views that are more democratic, some are more Republicanic, and some are just a mix of each other in a form of my own logic. I'm also for abolishing the two party system too lol.

@@stretchopotomus2385 Umm... Biased videos usually lie or misspeak and confuse to try to get you to their side. This video doesn't. It's purely informative. It's awesome. It gives you the right information on point.
As a 21 year old deciding which political party I favor more I can say some my issues and opinions are equal to both parties. I believe who ever has a better mission to carry out the country and it’s people should be the one who stands as president. Though I am glad I steer away from the traditional “what my family stands for so do I” factor because it would be oblivious to claim something you aren’t educated on.
@@MrPabgon I understand that bias can lead people to use those strategies, but I already expect that and I can tell the difference between fact and biased fluff, so it doesn't really matter. The reason I would rather watch the biased videos is that I want to find out what real people who actually hold these views think, believe, and want. This one guy trying to speak for everybody seems like a great idea, but it's not actually helpful. This video feels like a "safe" way to learn about ideas you disagree with, but we should have enough confidence in our own opinions, and at the same time enough open-mindedness and enough respect for one another, to just listen to people who disagree with us.

I like that this is unbiased and simplified for easier understanding. It actually made me realize which party I agree with more on certain issues in a general sense. Though, if I agree with a party's ideals I don't always agree with their course of action which complicates things.

I guess it explains how people get duped into voting for those people, but the politicians don't care. All of that rhetoric is to keep people voting for them. All they do is try to get re-elected, cause they want the dough. They'll cheat, lie, and murder just to stay in office.

Noah Januschka intolerant political system we have, it’s been poisoned for a while but it really was poisoned in Obama’s presidency by both the DNC and the GOP.
It’s true that political parties have polarized the country in many ways. I don’t think it was intended to be like this though. I hope it’s something that can be fixed if we elect the right people who can help close the gap between the two parties and unite this country.

This is the most refreshingly honest & unbiased comparison I've ever heard! Just wanted to note that since Trump, tons of center left/moderate liberals shifted to the right a little due to the toxic culture war & extreme political division in this country. So they support gay marriage and are more often pro-choice. That's what happened to myself and large numbers of my friends.

Great Vid! My family members are Democrats and my girlfriend and her family are Republicans. I'm very neutral because I'm not as knowledgable in politics as they are. The purpose of a republic is to protect us from democracy.
I don’t get why people lump all republicans together on same sex marriage. Most republicans/socially conservative people I know( I know that doesn’t apply to all) don’t want gay marriage banned, and don’t want to enforce their religious beliefs on others. We see it as wrong and as a sin, but we see it as their choice. We don’t hate them for it, we just disagree.

it's difficult to side with a party when one side only supports half of your beliefs/ideals while the second side supports the other half. Yeah I feel you I would say I’m mostly conservative and I vote conservative because the left wing ideas I do believe in I can’t trust the democrats to actually in act those policies I mean I would love it if they would tax the rich in order to fund more programs I would love it if employees owned a portion of the production similar to socialism just not to that extreme of a degree that it’s completely employee owned production but I’ve always thought that if employees received shares and were given more shares the longer they stay at one company I’ve always thought that would be a great way to help the average person beat inflation but unfortunately I know the Dems will never fulfill those policies because unfortunately they work for the rich so instead I vote Republican because if u can’t tax the rich then the next best thing is less taxes in general for everyone also just the extreme of the modern democrat is to much for me they need to be a bit more moderate before I could vote for them

I'm a Democrat, but I consider many Republicans great people who love this country very much. I hate how divided this country is politically. One of the reasons is because both parties have lots of politicians who have become very liberal/conservative. As the Democratic party gets more liberal, and the Republican party gets more conservative, that makes Democratic and Republican supporters more liberal and conservative. Case in point how this country continues to divide. From what I've seen, Liberals generally judge too emotionally rather than logically. I've also seen lots of Conservatives who run businesses, and are all about money. They'll do whatever it takes. A good amount of them are assholes. Liberals seem more open-minded than Conservatives, but at the same time seem a little looser and unsafe. Of course there are going to be the religious people who believe the bible and therefore think Democrats are evil. We have to stop the expansion of major Liberalism/Conservatism if we want to stop dividing and unite.
I've never met a liberal who was willing to allow me freedom of association, or freedom of religion, or freedom to carry a gun. Liberals are much more willing to
try to force me to do things they want than are Conservatives.

I would love for you to go deeper on the topic. Show what kind of specific policies these parties have supported (historically), you just might find that your description of each party changes. Furthermore, and this I feel strongly about, please differentiate between the Party's POLITICIANS and the Party's VOTERS. See if the voters actually have the same values as the politicians they vote for. You may have to make a separate video on that alone, and take a survey on people, but I think it will be very interesting. Thanks so much.

First of all I would like to say thank you, just thank you for this beautiful video. Second, historically it’s important to know that Republicans didn’t always support conservative ideals and democrats weren’t always so liberal. It started off actually as the opposite. But overtime it gradually shifted. As Republicans progressive ideals gained more ground, they became more conservative to maintain these ideals, well democrats, who were initially conservative, because more liberal, in order to move things even father in either direction

Good video, but there is one thing I have noticed that is slightly inaccurate the donkey logo. The reason General Jackson used it was actually supposed to be a joke. One of his opponents called him a "jackass", Jackson then used the donkey as kind of a middle finger to that person.

I think you're wrong on that last part. Dems and Repubs haven't "compromised" on much since the turn of the century. Oh, sure, a FEW things...but, for the most part, they've both been, "I'm right, you're wrong, suck it!"

cwolvie that’s the way it should be. When they do come together to do stuff 90% of the time it does nothing but hurt the US citizens. Our government was set up in a way that supposed to keep them fighting with each other. That keeps them out of our lives. The central government was never meant to be this big strong. Local and state governments were meant to be the main players in our lives. And that’s because they were closer to home and we would have more control over them.
I agree that we do need both the democratic party and the republican party but a bunch of democrats hate america

I recently had a discussion with my friend about our views on certain political issues. He has this idea that I am a Republican when I actually associate with the Democratic Party. I feel like both of us were out of touch with what both parties support and just exactly how they differ (thank you media). @@sophial7261 I am a Republican too, but also do not mind same gender marriage. I think that should be the choice of the person getting married not the government. It is not something that affects me, or my taxes, so why not let people just be themselves and be happy! Not all Republicans are "bad" or "heartless" "homophobic" or "racist" or all the other labels we get labeled. Just as not all Democrats are everything they are labeled.
