  • Honda Accord 1996 4 cylinder, hesistates, stalls, p1382 CEL on, idles low 400 rpms, EVAP purge flow CEL on. Cleaned Idle air control valve, EGR valve, fast idle valve, EGR passages, replaced PCV valve, cleaned throttle body, replaced spark plug seals underneath rocker assembly as oil was getting into spark plugs. But the problem was still not resolved. You press on gas and it would hesitate and some times stall. Also replaced distributor assembly and spark plug wires, and guess what? The problem was ECM

Dude I did every single bit of this too!!!! Before I saw this video!!!! Sure wish I had seen it sooner lol. Eric the Car Guy ftw for sure. Mine ended up being extremely dirty fuel injectors from a busted pcv, Evap, EGR, new distributor, plugs, wires, seals, injector seals, both O2 sensors, tried and returned ignition coil, even a new battery. And I still have a misfire in #1 lol. I’ll get it figured out.

thx a lot mine its doing pretty much d same, What's even worse it is that my car wasn't doing it before" the low rev /stalling" until I plug in my alternator correctly. But now I have an idea what could be d problem since I have done almost all of it except the distributor and egr cleaning and I don't have a check light on. But ur experience definitely gives me an idea on what to go for now.

Hey fellas I had a similar problem with my prelude just shutting off while driving randomly and no check engine light but all power gone! I put car in neutral and turn key and it starts right back up! Start car in park then after 5min car completely shuts off so I went on some forums and found out about “main fuel relay switch” I popped that in and car is running fine now! This part seems to “intermittently” work and eventually shut car down randomly while driving or parked! Part is under steering column to the left on prelude or right above brake or gas petal up under steering column area on an accord! I just unclipped relay switch which is a little tight and put new one on and left old one in the bracket and tucked switch under plastic steering column area so if I need a new one again I just unclip and plug new relay in if needed again!! Hope this helps! that “main fuel relay switch can also set off codes and a check engine light that are “false” readings! Peace fellas✌🏾

This is an awesome video brotha! I have been having the same issue on my 1995 Honda Accored Ex Manual transmission. All the work you have done on your Accord, I've done as well this year. I just swapped out my ECM yesterday. The car ran good until today. I was driving back home from work and the car started stalling on me as well while I was on first gear coming off a stop and while I was coming to a stop the car died on me. Im very frustrated and dont know what it can be now. Do you have any ideas? I've put a new distributor as well, my spark plug wires are three years old, my spark plugs are about a year old, my throttle body is clean (sort of new, bought off someone on ebay from the same year and model that had less miles than mine), so is my IAC valve, Egr valve, fast Idle valve, put on a new oxygen sensor as well, new battery as well this year. I changed my fuel pump and fuel filter back in 2015 so I doubt it would be that. I dont know where else too look, does anyone have any ideas, or advice!??? Thanks, what year model is your car? If your car has the key immobilizer, than the computer will need to be reprogrammed or flashed. That would cost around $70. Because if it has the immoblizer the key is programmed to the computer, so if u swap the computer the key u have right now would not be recognized by the new computer and it won’t start.

all the time? or after warmed up? having similar problems but my pcv
valve and breather box were gunked because it had a bad head gasket and
was driven for a while so the pcv valve was clogged but im having the
same type of issues as you except the check engine light.
