ikkaku’s bankai reveal is one of my favorites in the entire series and the anime really did it justice
Arrancars only have one release form like a shikia no second. The 1st is like their true form and gives them a lot of power

Kenpachi said "Zaraki no Kenpachi", which translates to Kenpachi of Zaraki.
It will be explained much later in the story.

Arrancar Zanpakuto releases are called Resurrection, they don't have Shikai or Bankai, they just transform into their True Self which are still pretty OP.
Ulqiorra is an exception.

TBH, we do not know if they have no shikai or bankai, knowing that visored are supposed to be arrancars as well, just done from the other side and that visored have shikai, bankai and resurreccion (tosen, also Kubo confirmed any visored could do resurreccion)... Then Arrancar should be able to do shikai and bankai as well. Maybe they need to be given an asauchi and merge their zanpakuto with it... maybe they need to infuse their more shinigami-like energies in their existing zanpakuto until a zan spirit is born... we don't know, but it stands to logic that they should be able to develop shikai and bankai eventually even if it is as hard as developing a resurreccion is for a visored.
If Ikkaku had used his Bankai he would have slapped Ichigo in Soul Society

Till this day Ikkaku Bankai is still the most unexpected thing to be seen 90% of the Fan back then had no idea he had one until the pose and the music we where like does this guy actually have a Bankai? specially knowing his a seated officer its wild that he had train to this degree without most Not realizing this

actually kenpachi of zaraki is the right subtitle. kenpachi is a title which is given to the strongest. zaraki is the name of the region where he came from. so he called himself "kenpachi of zaraki" but nowadays he's just zaraki kenpachi in short.
Not exactly, he used to call himself Kenpachi of Zaraki before he became a shinigami of the gotei 13, because he was the strongest of Zaraki's district. He then became Kenpachi Zaraki once he killed the previous 11th squad captain.

"Kenpachi of Zaraki" it will explain later on the latest arc
It was explained already in Kenpachi backstory in previous ark. "Kenpachi" is a sorta nickname for a strongest shinigami in generation and Zaraki is a name of Rukongai (place where poor sools lives, unlike shinigamis in Seiretei) district from where Kenpachi from. U mistaken by a bit different information)))
The subtitles weren't actually wrong there. Back in soul society arc kenpachi said that he didn't have a name. And he wasn't joking or anything maybe he didn't have parents but nobody ever gave him a name. Kenpachi is a title thats given to the strongest soul reaper in each generation and zaraki is the name of the place where he used to live. So he just took those 2 names as his name. Kenpachi is his first name and zaraki he took as his last name.
For the little girl yachiru its the same. kenpachi gave her the first name yachiru after the person he admires most. and her last name is kusajishi which is the name of the place where he found her. She didn't have any name either.
People are saying it will be explained in future but it already said all that back in soul society so they can just explain it themselves.

little hint, Zaraki isn't kenpachi's last name, but the place he comes from, the zaraki forest. In japanese he calls himself Zaraki no Kenpachi which means "the kenpachi of/from zaraki".

Kenpachi is a title given to THE best swordsman in Soul Society, he had no name so using his title and the place he is from, Zaraki District, he gave himself the name of "The Kenpachi of Zaraki", which took as a his own name as Kenpachi Zaraki after becoming Squad 11 Captain.

Probably one of the most fun Bankai scream in all of Bleach...after that, Ichigo and Unohana are also fun !! Probably not one of the most powerful, very slow to get full power but fits perfectly with Ikkaku's style !

[Tidbits & Clarifications]
- Bingo! the 11th Division are selfish, they prioritize their own ways over logic. Kenpachi did the same thing when he helped Ichigo's team, it wasn't smart but that doesn't matter to them, they do what is best for their life and enjoyment.
- Another interesting thing about Squad 11 is that the seem to keep secrets, Ikkaku was hiding his Bankai and Yumichika also did something back in the Soul Society that he was hiding and that we still don't know.
- Kenpachi of Zaraki is correct, he doesn't have a real name. Kenpachi is the title for the person who loves battle most in a generation and Zaraki was the district he was born in, he just put them together and used it since he has no name.
- Ikkaku being Renji's Tutor makes sense, when you think about it he and Renji are the only Lietuenants we've seen to have Bankai
- Yep, Ikkaku could have destroyed Ichigo, this is a good way to do power scaling. This doesn't take away from Ichigo's achievement, just shows that a lot of other circumstances cam into play for his Victory. Just like if Kenpachi took him serious from the jump Ichigo would have lost same with Byakuya (who was still standing after that fight).
This tells us that Ichigo isn't quite on their level, He has the spiritual energy of a Captain but he's mostly won thanks to luck.
Bleach has some of the best fights, backstories love it!

While Bankai is necessary for 99.9% of Captains to have, having one doesn't automatically make you Captain-level. For an example, look at Renji. Though yeah, Ikkaku is really strong, don't misunderstand. :P
It's not a mistranslation. It is indeed "Kenpachi of Zaraki". Since it's used further in the future.
And yeah, Ikkaku is not just blindingly follows Kenpachi. He's really doing what Kenpachi asks him. Be stronger up until he could kill him. He just developed a feeling of respect to him too so he's also loyal to Kenpachi.

Not really, Ichigo always has higher spirit energy than Ikakku since he is Noble , Ikakku has Bankai but not well trained that why his Bankai broken here when he used it..
@@peyton5322 He'd still destroy him. He almost won with his crappy shikai. One hit would obliterate Ichigo at this point. I mean some plot power would probably make Ichigo survive but saying it broke vs this guy so it would break against early SS ichigo is silly. Ichigo was super weak at that point.
