They're all going off lease for now awaiting a new TOC. Good news is that the class 317's take over the Stansted Express services again so if you want a bit of extra classic traction before the 317's go to scrap now is your chance. Soon they'll be replaced by the class 720/745 fleet unfortunately.
So that’s why most of my local trains have been class 720s. What company will they go to? Also you said class 317s will be on the Stansted Express services, aren’t they worked by class 745s?
True, but on the GEML, most of them are 720s coupled together. But on the WAML, they have only ever been 5 cars, meaning we our services have reduced carriage numbers from 8 to 5
Why were they heading for warm storage?

Aren’t the class 720s meant to be 10 car?
@@instinct_yt281 . The order was changed before production to all 5 carriage units.

Would be good on southern tbf. If money is willing to be spent to convert them.
It's a possibility, suppose if the leasing company thinks it'll be viable I guess
@@Faulty720 it's a new unit relatively speaking I'd say it may be worth it.
@@bb-3653 you'd have to speak to the person responsible at the leasing company :)
@@Faulty720 haha true, ar least that's what southern would have to do isn't it. Or GTR.
@@bb-3653 personally I'd prefer it if they rebuilt the Deltic fleet.
