Miss the 321 & 317's, so much better than the 720's :(
Smart :) 🚂
I guess the water spray damps things down so that sparks don't start any fires?
@@maisiedogonline correct :)
Should have used 2 X Class 90s in the first place.
This was before FL used 90's completely on these diagrams.
@@Faulty720 Fair enough. I was merely arguing that 1 x Class 90 was never going to be enough for a 930 tonne train. So they should have used 2 x Class 86's or 1 x Class 90 + 1 x Class 86 from the get-go.
@@MrSmith1984 I'd assume this was a 90x86 with the 3rd trailing loco D.I.T but honestly can't remember and the video quality of my phone back then was quite poor as you can see, so the pantographs aren't clear enough to make out. I put triple header so maybe all 3 were powered and the 90 was going through running in tests though... Forever a mystery 😂
@@Faulty720 In the video description, you described the train as a Single Class 90 towing 2 x Class 86's and a Freight Consist, before the additional Class 86s got activated at some point. Looking at the footage with my eyes, it looks like all 3 Locomotives were being used. Which is understandable since 2 x Class 90s are usually used to pull such trains on this route, thus a 1 x Class 86 + 1 x Class 90 combination is somewhat inadequate for the task.
got here because of you're comment on top gear classic how's the interior ?
@@sargaa8471 it's the GWR first class interior with some blue mood lighting and table cloths added :)
@@Faulty720 I looked it up and yeah it looks cool but the structure isn't that much different from the train I took to work how much is a ticket to go there? also I saw it was a train for the highlands, do you live there or you just go there for the occasion ?
@@sargaa8471 it's a special excursion train, pre-booked only. The exact train (Called a HST) used to run from Paddington-penzance for Great Western Railway. Those trains and types of carriages used to also be used on the East Midlands, Great Eastern, East and west coast mainlines, plus some other stuff. The excursion is run by Midland Pullman, ticket prices and excursion dates can be found here - www.midlandpullman.com If you'd rather ride on a HST without paying a large cost, a couple of heritage railways operate them publicly, such as the Colne Valley Railway and Nene Valley Railway being the most regular ones.
Nice line :)
nice see in day light. Thanks for info
If it's any help it returns from Fort William tomorrow. Arrives back into Chelmo around 23:00 ish. Realtime trains should have the path on their site by now :)
@@Faulty720 See yesterday times on RR didn't find by numbers found by looking everything goes passed Chelmford today. Sits there for a bit then Shenfield for a bit bfore going back out. I your out may see you on the line :) Thanks again

No HOVRIS, I think this is my footage ... You should have got your OWWWWWWN footage!

Nice to see it at Chelmsford. Wish I was there to see it. Maybe next when it comes through Essex.
@@Andrewjg_89 yes :) first HST in 27 years at Chelmsford. Next dates are; The West Highland Pullman, departs 16th August and arrives on the 18th August. The Torbay Riviera - 21st August Tyne Valley Pullman - 23rd October. There's also a UK Railtours charter with a class 33, 66 and the 4TC set passing through this Sunday 28th July :)
Good coverage of an excellent day at the Rails and Ales 😁
Sama again next year? 😂 I think other rails and ales events are in order soon too
You can go in one in the east anglia railway museum in Colchester
Yes indeed you can, as long as it hasn't been shunted away from a platform. It's a single driving trailer as I'm sure you're aware and won't ever be hauled/move with passengers aboard again though. But it's still nice to have an example preserved of course. Also on a side note I do hope they have finally removed those awful dystopian (and unnecessary) distancing stickers that the last TOC put up 🤮🤡😂
Uçak çok sessiz
Might of seen you at Colchester
It may have been possible you did, maybe you didn't haha
Good footage 😁
Thanks 😂
Good footage
Cheers Nigel 🚂🍺
I'm going to have to go there
Yeah it's a nice little line. Undergoing track work ATM to build new sidings as there were some land ownership issues I think. It's not that big but it's nice, if you check out their website or facebook page you'll get the idea of what's there. Imo mini rail is the best bit haha
@@Faulty720 I'm an ex platelayer from the southern , the closest I was to my father was a day out on the R H & D . I really appreciate the effort that enthusiastic people put into a project and while I can still move I'm intending to see as many as possible . Great video 👍🏴
@@stephenrice4554 well this year you'll probably see some tracklaying in progress in public view at the CVR for these new sidings. Volunteer availability pending :)
Nahh 💀 never been on a roller coaster before and I’m going to Thorpe park in August. All my friends gonna force me to do this one first for sure 😭😭
You’ll be fine ride swarm before it’s a super smooth ride and you’ll 100% enjoy it then go for hyperia
Mack coasters are really smooth and very comfortable :) if you're going in August get a fast track for it if you can, queues will be massive haha
Wow, I have never seen that before.
Nice one
Thanks :) Was a bit of chance really, as had just got off a down road train to see a big crowd on Platform 1. Didn't get to film the actual naming ceremony, wasn't much tbh unless you're into football as apparently a few famous Ipswich FC faces there
Fantastic, what time did you film that.
Around 3am :)
Oh yes, 37421 and 37610. Memories, the first time i ever saw a test train!
PLS COME BACK 😢
I wish :/
Speed and power !
Absolutely 😁
Why has leading loco got 50007 on AND 50034!!!?
@@Faulty720 No, if you look closely the leading 50 has 50007 on the front buffer and 50034 on the side
@@colinwilbur3883 ah I see what you mean, sorry. To be honest I have no idea haha
Nice video. . Pity i missed them . Live round that area.
Cheers :) Railtours in this area seem to have become more common recently, I'm sure there's others planned for this year through Chelmo
Was this at Chelmsford.
Yes, good spot. :)
Most of the Class 317s have gone for scrap. If the Class 317 weren’t going for scrap then perhaps they should of gone to ScotRail to increase more capacity on the Glasgow suburban services.
Most of them were reported by maintenance teams to be 'rust buckets' and difficult to keep in service. The body and chassis and motors basically being life expired. It's a shame that what replaced them (720) is so inadequate but unfortunately the 317's were past it.
Very lovely that 😁
Thank you! Cheers!
Anglia Railways back home 🙂
If only
This train has got to be the loudest train I have ever heard on the UK rail network
It's pretty loud when it's grinding :)
These have now been relegated to be used on the Branch lines haven’t they since the Class 720s have entered service.
Indeed they have - as it says in the description:) cheers for watching 😁
👍😊
No it’s not, they still go on branch lines until April
Yes. And Chelmsford is on the main line. The last main line class 321's were supposed to finish weeks ago. Trust me I know these things. 😁
Yep. Better.
another great video WOW
Thanks again! Glad you're enjoying the videos 😁

@@Faulty720 have a great day!
@@c-historia if you liked this video. I've just uploaded another class 37 video, taken early this morning. It's an extremely rare working of 2 class 37's hauling a ballast train. (Normally done by the more common class 66's)
Brilliant catch! I had a great day riding and chasing this pair!
Thanks 😁 They'll probably be out again no doubt covering for a failed 745/720 but was nice to get the last official departure. Anything beats a 720 😂
@@Faulty720 I don’t mind the 720s but the older generation of trains I really love. I am like you in that I wanted to be there for the last official day… even if they do make a few more appearances as cover for breakdowns etc
Yikes! 2:10 in the morning! That’s commitment! Great catch though!
Cheers 😁
@@Faulty720 no worries
Would be good on southern tbf. If money is willing to be spent to convert them.
It's a possibility, suppose if the leasing company thinks it'll be viable I guess
@@Faulty720 it's a new unit relatively speaking I'd say it may be worth it.
@@bb-3653 you'd have to speak to the person responsible at the leasing company :)
@@Faulty720 haha true, ar least that's what southern would have to do isn't it. Or GTR.
@@bb-3653 personally I'd prefer it if they rebuilt the Deltic fleet.
Is that a greater anglia DVT at around 4:35 ?
Yes it is - 82121 :) it has been used on demonstration services with the 3rd power car before and hopefully will see further demonstration use in the future.

Nice catch, I got the return trip at Stratford 🙂 I’ve subbed as well 🙂
I'll give it a watch. If only the modern units were put into this livery haha. Cheers for the sub!
@@Faulty720 haha! Agreed, I actually think the 745s would look quite smart in that livery!
Fantastic video!
Thanks :) Just in case you're interested the 'launch day' is the 16th April and then there is a steam and HST day on the 18th April aswell
Why were they heading for warm storage?
They're all going off lease for now awaiting a new TOC. Good news is that the class 317's take over the Stansted Express services again so if you want a bit of extra classic traction before the 317's go to scrap now is your chance. Soon they'll be replaced by the class 720/745 fleet unfortunately.
So that’s why most of my local trains have been class 720s. What company will they go to? Also you said class 317s will be on the Stansted Express services, aren’t they worked by class 745s?
Aren’t the class 720s meant to be 10 car?
@@instinct_yt281 . The order was changed before production to all 5 carriage units.
True, but on the GEML, most of them are 720s coupled together. But on the WAML, they have only ever been 5 cars, meaning we our services have reduced carriage numbers from 8 to 5
May I please correct you? It is being taken to Northampton, not Nottingham
You can do that's fine. Was only following what the diagram said on realtime trains
I was also lucky to see mayflower yesterday At Great Yarmouth she’s such a beautiful locomotive I managed to do a livestream featuring her in it do feel free to give it a watch
Best trains ever
