@@Faulty720understandable, what bothers me the most is you get to the destination late and on the return you get back early or on time how does that make sense?

@OfficiallyDarik just nature of Railtours I suppose, most of them don't get priority on routes either, so if it misses it's path, the tour is at the mercy of the signaller. I was on the Coronation Deltic last year and didn't make it back to king's cross, I had to alight at Peterborough and catch an LNER service in order to make my train home. Turns out the railtour ended up terminating at Stevenage as it was unable to obtain a path back into London after it was delayed with a fault at Retford, fun times. 😂

@@Andrewjg_89 yes :) first HST in 27 years at Chelmsford. Next dates are; The West Highland Pullman, departs 16th August and arrives on the 18th August. The Torbay Riviera - 21st August Tyne Valley Pullman - 23rd October. There's also a UK Railtours charter with a class 33, 66 and the 4TC set passing through this Sunday 28th July :)

Yes indeed you can, as long as it hasn't been shunted away from a platform. It's a single driving trailer as I'm sure you're aware and won't ever be hauled/move with passengers aboard again though. But it's still nice to have an example preserved of course. Also on a side note I do hope they have finally removed those awful dystopian (and unnecessary) distancing stickers that the last TOC put up 🤮🤡😂

Yeah it's a nice little line. Undergoing track work ATM to build new sidings as there were some land ownership issues I think. It's not that big but it's nice, if you check out their website or facebook page you'll get the idea of what's there. Imo mini rail is the best bit haha

Yes, good spot. :)

Most of them were reported by maintenance teams to be 'rust buckets' and difficult to keep in service. The body and chassis and motors basically being life expired. It's a shame that what replaced them (720) is so inadequate but unfortunately the 317's were past it.

Yes it is - 82121 :) it has been used on demonstration services with the 3rd power car before and hopefully will see further demonstration use in the future.

They're all going off lease for now awaiting a new TOC. Good news is that the class 317's take over the Stansted Express services again so if you want a bit of extra classic traction before the 317's go to scrap now is your chance. Soon they'll be replaced by the class 720/745 fleet unfortunately.

So that’s why most of my local trains have been class 720s. What company will they go to? Also you said class 317s will be on the Stansted Express services, aren’t they worked by class 745s?

True, but on the GEML, most of them are 720s coupled together. But on the WAML, they have only ever been 5 cars, meaning we our services have reduced carriage numbers from 8 to 5
