Great example of treatment to clean up low quality rough gemstones. Most gem merchants disclose this treatment and it helps keep the cost of middle grade jewelry in to affordable prices for the most part.

No...Pale yellow to light Yellow, **Natural origin Yellow group** Sapphires ( Rough or already cut and polished goods) . heated to develop more yellow color.....Understand that not all of the pieces turn a nice deep yellow but many pieces react to the heat and develop varying degrees of yellow color ranging from a light yellow to a deep yellow and a small percent ( less than 5 percent ) can develop a yellow with orange color .....The method they use is a *crude* method in comparison to a more scientific method that can result in more overall Yellow color development and a higher percent developing more orange color and therefore more valuable when orange color development is obtained in a percent of the heated material ....Cheers

That is an ignorant comment........Low grade natural origin Sapphires and Rubies have been improved by way of Heating going on since the early 1980's....... there is very little of the Natural Rubies and Sapphires that are not heated to improve their quality......There is a lot of low end rough corundum that can not be be improved by heating and sold cheaply and cut and polished cheaply and sold as all natural and no enhancement of any kind.....but it looks pretty nasty looking in comparison.....Higher value rough material that is **already** decent looking as is or sometimes good to fine quality as is is not sold cheaply......Heating Rubies and Sapphires is considered as all part of the gemstone processing business and going on for 40 plus years now......
