A few days ago I watched your old video on DnD Beyond import from half a year ago, and I was just about to utilize what I've learned from it. Perfect timing for this update, thanks a lot. Keep up the good work, Foundry is the awesomest of all VTT!

Thanks SO much for providing such succinct overviews and step-by-step guides and updates for FVTT - you are an absolute legend! If-and-when I am no longer locked down in Melbourne Aus, am working again, and in a position to support, I absolutely will do so!
Awesome videos - keep them coming! As a new DM and new to VTT you have been a life saver! Clicked the bell for the first time ever on youtube! Now all we need is for someone to pick up the D&D Beyond Campaign imports. Bummed VTT Assets is unable to do some of the new stuff at the moment.
Thank you so much for adding this video! It took me an entire week to figure this out. I really wish that the VTT Assets developer would have posted something on his Patreon page BEFORE I supported him. That being said, this will help other noobies in the community, and again, thank you for sharing this!
So happy that I 1. Soon have vacation which means I can finally set down and learning/setup my Foundry VTT and 2. Have a second screen so I can have your tutorial video running on the side :)
I gotta sub to you I just switched from Roll20 to Fundry and this made the transfer SO MUCH easier thank you for your videos and tutorials/walkthroughs
Hey man, thanks for teaching me how to use Foundry properly with all these videos, really helpful. You're a god at explaining these systems methodically.
Just wanted to say that after I dumped Roll20 (may it burn slowly in a rubber tire fire) I immediately jumped on the Foundry VTT boat and it is awesome. Thank you so much for being one of those that recommended it from the start, and it-s super to have both DungeonDraft and Foundry support in the same channel. As a bit of an odd side comment: I understand you aren't always super comfortable with detailing high quality maps, and so I was wondering if you-d considered partnering with any other artist for even a brief period, with you kind of asking questions and such and them providing the in depth commentary. Just a random idea. Thanks again sir!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm happy to say that I am working on getting some collaborations going with some artists and I'd love to be able to have some of them on to talk about their process! You may be interested in a video Crosshead Studios posted recently too that goes through some advanced DungeonDraft usage. Specifically near the end of the video they go over placing objects and things on different levels and then exporting them separately so you can bring the layers into a tool like Photoshop, Affinity Photo, or GIMP so that you can add shadows and really do that last bit of effort that makes a huge difference!
@@EncounterLibrary Nice! I've mostly been following this guy named Baileywiki and he-s got some intimidating maps. Will add Crosshead Studios to the look up list. :)
nice video, thanks. with your tutorials i feel comfortable to switch to foundry vtt for my next campain. But i still have a question. is the import synced? what if my players continue using their dndbeyond character and change their health there, add some equitment or level up. is the foundry actor synced?
Thank you for all of this! New tools are great! Is the new Iconizer link working for others? I'm getting an error message - "did not provide a valid manifest file"
It does, but the implementation isn't perfect because things can be created in so many different ways using the homebrew tools which makes it hard for the parser to find what's going on. I would give them a shot though and you may have some good luck! Especially if you build your monsters like monsters that already exist.
thank you for this video. Indeed a great module. Just two questions: does iconizer still work? I see default tokes throughout foundry and my 2nd question is: can I import monsters from adventures I own from D&D B?
Iconizer does still work but you'll need to use Mr. Primate's fork of it (which you can find linked in the description) and to do the import after it's active. Most icons should get replaced but some still don't have a fitting icon unfortunately. If it seems like most of your items don't get an icon feel free to comment back here and we can debug it or join Mr. Primate's discord which might be able to give a bit faster of a response time :D.
@@wrelensmash so it's making a copy of an existing bit of software, then making changes to it. It's called forking because now there exist 2 different versions of this bit of software. ---
Thanks for the amazing video, you are making migration to Foundry from roll20 an easy thing. Is there a module that lets compedium sharing between worlds?
If you use the built-in compendia that the module comes with you would have to. I just released a video last week that goes over making custom compendia that you can share between all of your worlds though and so if you create some compendia for the DnDBeyond module to use and set it to use them in the settings you should be able to have access to it in all of your worlds :D!
One thing I've noticed is that ambiance sounds that are played in a loop are terribly irritating. Take your horse whinnying clip, for example. If I were in the stables, walking around and heard non-stop horse whinnying, it would ruin the experience for me. Is it possible to play ambient sounds *stochastically*? Hearing a horse whinnying every, say 60 seconds plus epsilon seconds, where epsilon is drawn from a normal distribution on [-30, 30] with some specified mu and sigma. It doesn't have to be *that* complicated, but you get the idea. Is this sort of thing possible at all? Maybe there's a plugin that does it?
Thank you so much for the video, really helped my DM and myself to figure out a way to import our party's dnd beyond characters. Just a quick question: is there any way to make importing items from the SRD compendium / DnDBeyond Compendium into the items list easier instead of doing it 1 by 1? thanks!
Yes there is! If you right click on the compendium itself you can hit 'Import All Content' to get everything :). Unfortunately if you want just a handful of things there's no way to select multiple items to import.
Your videos have been so helpful getting up and running on Foundry. One question - when importing character sheets does the GM have to do this for the players or can players do it? I have a test player setup and it doesn't look like it's an option?
Your players should be able to import their own character information from DnDBeyond by opening their character sheet and clicking on the 'DnDBeyond' button the same way that you do. Does it not appear at all? Also, if you'd like some quicker help you can jump into Mr. Primate's discord and I (or somebody else) will be able to help you much quicker I imagine :).
Thanks for your assistance to the community. When I chance the spells for use with DAE, the importer overrides with every import. Do you know, how to stop that?
Thanks so much for this walkthrough, and thanks to the developer for making the tool. However, I'm running into an error whenever I import something (so far imported a character with images and done the spell muncher) I get an error that says: "Image upload Failed. Please check your ddb-importer upload folder setting." I do have that folder set in the settings, and I've tried restarting the server as well. Is this a current known issue?
The only way currently (other than doing it yourself) is VTTA but the module is not fully functional. It is back under development but it's using an entirely new system so not all adventures are properly supported. You'll want to check out vtta.io for more information on how it all works.
Regarding the Cobalt Cookie. Doesn't Mr Primate have access to it if we use it in conjunction with the mod? What's stopping him from stealing all of our stuff? Please Advise.
Monster import from DnDBeyond has always been behind a Patreon tier even with VTTA's importer. You can also create the monsters and their stat blocks yourself in Foundry pretty easily. It will be much faster using this method however.
Hey Sean, yes there is! I would recommend using Mr. Primate's importer if you want character, monster, item, and spell import. If you *need* adventure import then VTTA's module has support for that but there are issues with the other import functionality so you may still want to have Mr. Primate's module installed as well.
Love the simplicity of this module. Can you import items so that they are common to all worlds, like a common folder that existing and new worlds can access, or do you have to import on a world by world basis?
Another Great video. @2:35 you mention possible modules that allow Compendium Sharing between worlds. Do you know of such a module? I cannot find one... ;(
Sorry for just now responding to this! There's no "one size fits all" module unfortunately, but there is this guide: www.reddit.com/r/FoundryVTT/comments/fvw3c7/how_to_create_a_tiny_module_for_shared_content/ which will walk you through how to create one for yourself that you can share between worlds!
There's no automatic syncing but you can reimport your character to get new stats. I would typically do this on level up. The only thing to really pay attention to is where you're using consumables like potions, spell slots etc.. If you use them in Foundry and then re-import from DDB it will replace it with the values that DDB has. You can of course use the checkboxes in the importer to control what parts you bring in/override.
@@MrPrimate Thanks man. And thanks for the tool. You got a Patreon sub from me. It would be great if you made these things clear in some documentation somewhere, or allow us to change the order. Also, allow me to add the monster into the actors at download, as an option, even though it's nice to not do this by default. Cheers!
For some reason, I'm having trouble installing iconizer with the supplied link. I see that it's still up, so I'm not sure why. Could be a total newbie [me] goof-up, I'm not sure...
Hi There. Big fan of your content...It has helped me learn Foundy alot. I was wondering if you know of a way to use imported content in multiple worlds?
Yes! You can store content in a compendium that is part of a module you install in both worlds. I don't have a video on this yet but there's a guide you can follow here: www.reddit.com/r/FoundryVTT/comments/fvw3c7/how_to_create_a_tiny_module_for_shared_content/ If you use the Forge for hosting they also have a setting that will create the compendium for you. Hopefully that helps!
I'm a Patreon supporter yet I'm unable to link my patreon to Foundry (the "log in with google" and "connect to foundry" buttons don't work. Help! Edit: nvm. I got the key from the app ID in the Chrome extensions.
Do I add the DM have to import all my players into Foundry. Or do the players need to connect their D&D beyond in their instants when connecting to my server?
Once you've set your Cobalt cookie and everything you should be able to import all of your players characters yourself. Then, with the right permissions, they should be able to import their own characters as well if they need to update after a level up or you can take care of it yourself :).
the correct link for mr primate's fork is: github.com/MrPrimate/vtta-iconizer/releases in the YT description it's a direct link to the json file, which makes it impossible to copy and paste into foundry.
Sorry about that. I didn't realize RUclips was going to truncate and modify the URL. I've adjusted the link and provided a bit of instruction on what to copy now. Hopefully that helps!
Tokenizer will help you create tokens (and is a great module) but Iconizer is a different thing. Mr. Primate has also made a new version of the Iconizer module that you can install by pasting this into your 'Manifest URL' field in the module installer (at the bottom): github.com/mrprimate/vtta-iconizer/releases/download/latest/module.json Hopefully that helps! I'm sorry I got to this so late!
Thanks for this comment. I wasn't sure what to do with the link copied from github. You may want to include where to paste it in the video description. And your videos are freakin' amazeballs!
VTTA's DnDBeyond importer did handle adventure import but I'm not sure what the current status of it is. I *think* that part was largely working when I looked at it last but I would verify this in the VTTA discord before pledging on Patreon.
@@EncounterLibrary Cool. I had looked at subbing on Patreon, but like you said, I'm not sure if it's in there or not. I'll check their Discord. Thanks for the reply!
I'm having difficulty with the Magic Items module. It didn't seem to populate the spells for the item automatically, and even after I manually add the spells and charges and so on when I equip the item new spells do not appear in my PC's spellbook. Granted, I'm doing this for items in the compendium, because my players don't use D&D beyond so I don't just import their characters. Edit: Magic items seems to work for items imported from characters from D&D beyond but not the DDB Muncher itself.
@@MrPrimate I see. Thanks for all the clean work on this MrPrimate. The module looks and feels great to use. I find the Kobold (Edit: I mean Cobalt, haha) cookie strategy much smoother than the VTTA method with the chrome extension.
For that error you'll want to go to your DnDBeyond campaign and copy its ID from the URL and add it into the settings. Feel free to hop into Mr. Primate's Discord if you're still running into issues and they'll be able to get a response to you a bit quicker than I can :D.
As far as I can tell there is some development effort but it's mostly going towards Tokenizer and even that I haven't seen anything that gives me that much faith in its continued development. I'd recommend sticking with Mr. Primate's importer for now.
Really got 11 minutes into the video before I found out the one thing I wanted wasn't in the module yet (class features) Hopefully the 3 months since this video was uploaded changed that
I can't remember exactly when it changed but it is in the module now if you're a Patreon subscriber at at least the Undying tier level. I hope that helps!
Likewise with modules being the answer for everything. We had a solution, with a patreon paywall, and now that's gone, and you have to use this new patron paywall.
I mean, you could just manually create the monsters, items, characters, etc in Foundry yourself. These are primarily devs doing this on the side because they like using Foundry. No one is getting rich on their Patreon for Foundry modules. At least Foundry itself is a one time purchase.
Hello, thanks for all your videos. They're very helpful. I'm having an issue which I'm sure is something I'm missing. I tried to do the spell munch and it pops up to say it's downloading but there's no progress at all. I left it for a good hour and it was stuck. I tried to do the item muncher and it works. Just not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated!
Hey there, try updating to the latest version. It looks like there was a bug in a release that messed up bulk spell import. It should be all fixed up now!

Can players do that? The DM did it for me, but i didn't copy my level (even tho it copied the proper XP) and didn't copy my class features at all. Just the HP, the Token and the classes, but none of the spells and features
Matt, I would hazard to guess it's because Mr. Primate is continually developing the module and this video is from Dec. 6th. The info is still current as of 2/4/21 - I'm using the video to reconfigure my game and it still works.
My guess is that you might be using the VTTA DnDBeyond Importer and not Mr. Primate's. They're very similarly named and somewhat confusing as a result. I would double check that. There are some differences with the new versions of the module but it's *mostly* pretty similar.
Cant seem to get the Mucher to work? I have the Cobalt Cookie added ect. but when I 'Import Spells', after a short delay I get a '0 spells imported' message come up. Additionally, when i try the Item Mucher I get; 'Unknown Error, parameters provided are invalid.' Help!
@@JeffGessas nope still nothing. So annoying! There's nothing online about this error either. I'm gunna try removing everything g else, see if something conflicting with it. Bring back Vtta! 😅
Hullo, can anyone confirm for me that you basically need two separate Patreon subs to get importing from ddb to work? I'm just wondering out loud because i just wanna make sure im not going loopy *EDIT: The two patreons being the creator of FoundryVTT and Mr.Primate?
For full clarity: There's no requirement to sub to Foundry VTT at all on Patreon. For DnDBeyond importing if you only need character import you can do that for free. If you're looking to do monster importing etc. then you will need to subscribe on Patreon for at least one month :).
You don't have to go for the most expensive option to import monsters. It's available at all tiers. Only the highest tier can import all monsters at once though. That should change by the end of the month though as Mr. Primate wants to give that ability to all patrons. And you definitely can pay, import everything, and then stop. You would need to resubscribe if you wanted to reimport creatures as the parsing gets fully ironed out though.
After I installed the importer when I went into the world config settings it never gave me an option to activate the modules dependencies. Now I can’t figure out why the importer won’t work. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
Hey Jeff, sorry to get back to you so late, it's been a crazy week. My first guess would be to uninstall the module and start fresh and see if the issue is still occurring. If it is I would jump into Mr. Primate's discord and file a bug report because I haven't seen anyone else reporting that issue.
Just once I want to see a module for monster tokens that doesn't use patreon.

The Tokenizer works without any limitiations. And as long as there is no API for DNDBeyond, the dev of the Module will have to run a Server in order to do the conversions and keep ddb from blocking it, this has costs associated with it unfortunately :(
I think they use the monsters one which is the least disruptive importer. Only DM's have any real need for it, and even then its quite doable to build an adventure without it. This way lots of people get free access to most of their stuff, and the ones who support them get a nice bonus. I get your point, its always nice to have stuff for free, but they spend time an effort on this, Patreon is a good way to support them in creating this stuff

@@BigAlGamingOne I know of other ways, they are def not legal and not endorsed by fvtt though. And also it is possible to sub to a patreon for a month, import all the things you need and unsub again. I did so to get the monsters for my current campaign.
It should be in one of Mr. Primate's Patreon posts. He updates it on a monthly basis and you should be able to find the current links at the top of this post: www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-keys-45692991 . I hope that helps!
Sorry about that. I didn't realize RUclips was going to insert a bunch of stuff into the URL. I've adjusted the link and provided a bit of instruction on what to copy now. Hopefully that helps!
@@claybell3159 You shouldn't need to copy the link in the description now, just click on it and then copy the 'manifest' link near the bottom. I think they're going to truncate things in the comments as well unfortunately.
Anyone willing to add me to their campaign and share their dnd beyond books? I bought all physical and now realize that you don't get beyond with it 😢 just found out about dnd beyond as we are trying to go digital with Covid. Regretting all my physical books now
I bought it and was really happy. But if I need to spend 10 days to set the whole thing, makes me wanna wait till covid ends and I can have my friends again back around the table. I think for a program that you buy it is unacceptable not to have a video call that you can actually use and features that you need to be an expert on pcs (even a developer) to work with them. These tutorials are AMAZING but if I need to watch 3 hours of tutorials and then struggle even more just to get started with it, then I think that all the ads of this vtt are false. Great disappointment. Just like, imagine that you want to bring a friend to play that has no idea of these things. I know I am nagging but I just spent with a friend 1 hour in a video call just to explain the basics. In what universe, a paid program doesn't support drag and drop for instance, and in order to upload a photo you need to add the path from your pc by changing the / to \. A big no from me, although I can see how great the end result might be. ps: I am surprised I haven't seen reviews like mine around the web. Again: your videos are amazing and truly helpfull.
Am I the only one disgusted by his Patreon model? I get wanting to get paid for your stuff, but the fact that he is feature-gating behind Patreon tiers is pretty gross. Especially considering this is a recurring payment for something you likely won't constantly need every month...Providing early access to features and wanting to support someone should be a good enough reason to support at higher tiers, but this is pretty ridiculous. He just revealed today that Homebrew Monster import is getting gated behind a higher Patreon tier...Why is this not a base feature if I am paying for access to this?
Perhaps I could provide some additional context here. It may not satisfy you but hopefully it will at least be edifying. Here we go: The only thing that is feature gated currently is monster import. There's two tiers where you can import a handful of monsters at a time or all at once. This will be going away within the next week or so as Mr. Primate wants to make mass monster import available at all tiers. The reasoning behind the current system is that Mr. Primate is using the patreon tiers as a way of minimizing bug reports to an acceptable level. If only people who pay $20 can import all monsters at once it will give him a more manageable flow issues to work through than if everyone could do it and were all reporting the same issues. With regards to homebrew imports: this is going to be a nightmare for Mr. Primate to handle. The issue comes down to the fact that 99% of issues are going to be related to homebrew monsters as there won't be the same consistency in their schema that there are with the official book monsters because people will create new *everything* and the parser won't be able to handle it well. My understanding is that he wants to do something to make it easier for people to create homebrew monsters but at the very least for now the higher tier restriction is another 'limit the flow of issues' type situation. I think the easy solution if you don't need the tools that frequently is to unsubscribe on Patreon when you don't need them. Once everyone has access to mass monster import it will be easy to subscribe for a month and then stop once you've got it all imported. In fact he gives you free access to the things that you'll need to do most frequently (character import, not to mention spell and item import) which makes it even easier to support only when you need to change monsters. All in all, I think it's a pretty friendly set up for how most people will use it.
@@EncounterLibrary To a certain extent I agree with you, however I take issue with several things: $4 a month at the lowest tier is already pretty steep for something like this. I understand wanting to pay someone when you appreciate their work and supporting ongoing development, but the way it is done here makes me feel a bit ripped off. For official content, it's a one and done between book releases, so yay. But then everytime a new book comes out, I need to pay an additional $4 just to import a couple of monsters? That seems excessive. If importing a couple monsters at a time is coming to the free version, no harm no foul. Bulk importing is 100% a premium feature. If that change is coming and I missed it, then I apologize. Paying a premium to beta test content makes sense in today's market. If I want early access to the new features, sure subbing makes sense. But why is this gated by tiers on top of that? When I saw that the Homebrew import was locked behind the middle tier, with no plans to bring it to all tiers, I was furious. While I have no idea what the dev cycle was for VTTA, importing Homebrew worked with little issue with that, without a subscription. Sure, I had to go in and tweak a few things, but that was far and above acceptable for something I had free access to. The tiers shouldn't be blocking functionality for something like this, especially functionality that most would assume is base level for an importer. What I saw while subbed to this Patreon was greed, not a desire to help out a community. "Pay me more to get these new features", not "Hey, thanks for supporting me. Here's the fruits of your support."
@atombrain111 Sure, a one-time payment of $4 is definitely worth it. Hell, $10 is worth it. This type of thing is basically a premium add-on. DLC, if you will. But a recurring payment of $4? Absolutely not. Especially when you consider that recurring $4 payment is clearly not getting you anything extra as time goes on. Another upgrade is coming to the add-on...if you pay at least $6.50 for it. He is actively spitting in the face of people who are willing to pay him for something that, even at the $4 level, will quickly cost more than the entire VTT itself. His model is greed, pure and simple. Breaking down the new features - Sorting by source. Definitely not a standard feature, makes sense something like this would be a paid feature (though again, one-time payment seems much more sensible). Exact name matching for importing a monster - Seems like this would be a pretty basic feature for an importer that is now locked behind not only a monthly paywall but one that is higher than the base tier. When you look at the power behind all of the content modules people are putting out there for free and then look at what he is asking for, how can you conclude anything other than greed? I have no problem supporting people when they are making a positive impact on the community. I've followed Patreon pages for people because I enjoy the content they provide the community, often ignoring some of the perks for that support simply because I want to support their work. If his model was more consumer-friendly? Sure, I wouldn't feel any kind of way for supporting him, because I know my contribution is supporting a content creator who is making people's lives a bit better. Hell, eliminate the $6.50 tier and stop feature gating and I wouldn't have even batted an eyelash. "Hey, thank you for making this an incredibly useful tool that is helping the community. Here is some money, please keep it up!"
@@PapaSmurf124 You seem just a tad entitled. This guy is providing a service, of his own volition. You don't have to pay if you don't want it. 4 dollars for a one-and-done kinda deal where you import everything you might need is pretty reasonable.

Thank you for a comperhensive video, does the importer support homebew content from dndbeyond?

Thanks for the amazing video, you are making migration to Foundry from roll20 an easy thing. Is there a module that lets compedium sharing between worlds?
I was not able to find the importer in the import modules section.
Thanks for the video! Do you have to re-import for every game work you make?
If you use the built-in compendia that the module comes with you would have to. I just released a video last week that goes over making custom compendia that you can share between all of your worlds though and so if you create some compendia for the DnDBeyond module to use and set it to use them in the settings you should be able to have access to it in all of your worlds :D!
@@EncounterLibrary Thank you for the reply!
I don't have a big "B" on my character sheet so I have no where to put in the link to D&Dbeyond. Can you help?
Maybe there's a plugin that does it?
do you need to keep mr primates patreon subscription after you've imported all the monsters? if i cancel my sub will it delete all the monsters?
Thank you so much for the video, really helped my DM and myself to figure out a way to import our party's dnd beyond characters. Just a quick question: is there any way to make importing items from the SRD compendium / DnDBeyond Compendium into the items list easier instead of doing it 1 by 1? thanks!
Yes there is! If you right click on the compendium itself you can hit 'Import All Content' to get everything :). Unfortunately if you want just a handful of things there's no way to select multiple items to import.
@@EncounterLibrary You absolute beaut! Thank you so much for this! It's been such a headache. You really are the best
I'm getting this same issue. Let me know if you find anything out!

What is for the moment the best way to import adventures from d&d beyond?
The only way currently (other than doing it yourself) is VTTA but the module is not fully functional. It is back under development but it's using an entirely new system so not all adventures are properly supported. You'll want to check out vtta.io for more information on how it all works.
Do you need to own the Monster Manual on DnD Beyond to get monsters - or does this bypass this requirement VTTA needs
You must still own the content on DnDBeyond to be able to import it.
> Very similar steps mentioned in video and it just works...
Regarding the Cobalt Cookie.
Doesn't Mr Primate have access to it if we use it in conjunction with the mod?
What's stopping him from stealing all of our stuff?
Please Advise.
so monster are locked behind a paywall now? is there any way to add them?
Monster import from DnDBeyond has always been behind a Patreon tier even with VTTA's importer. You can also create the monsters and their stat blocks yourself in Foundry pretty easily. It will be much faster using this method however.
@@EncounterLibrary oh you can do that in foundry cool, that I didn't know that's for the quick reply
Is there a difference between the VTTA dndbeyond importer and mr. primates? If so, would you recommend one over the other?
Hey Sean, yes there is! I would recommend using Mr. Primate's importer if you want character, monster, item, and spell import. If you *need* adventure import then VTTA's module has support for that but there are issues with the other import functionality so you may still want to have Mr. Primate's module installed as well.
Love the simplicity of this module. Can you import items so that they are common to all worlds, like a common folder that existing and new worlds can access, or do you have to import on a world by world basis?
When I make another world I simply drop it ont the new world folder and rename it. Easy
Another Great video.
@2:35 you mention possible modules that allow Compendium Sharing between worlds. Do you know of such a module? I cannot find one... ;(
Sorry for just now responding to this! There's no "one size fits all" module unfortunately, but there is this guide: www.reddit.com/r/FoundryVTT/comments/fvw3c7/how_to_create_a_tiny_module_for_shared_content/
which will walk you through how to create one for yourself that you can share between worlds!
@@EncounterLibrary Thanks!
For the Record the Manifest URL does work now as far as I understand it anyways
I'm new to this; do changes you make on your ddb sheet update on Foundry VTT? For example, leveling up on ddb updating on Foundry VTT
Can you tell us how the priority works for icons? Srd, iconizer, ddb etc?
Pretty much this order
@@MrPrimate Thanks man. And thanks for the tool. You got a Patreon sub from me. It would be great if you made these things clear in some documentation somewhere, or allow us to change the order.
Also, allow me to add the monster into the actors at download, as an option, even though it's nice to not do this by default. Cheers!

Hi There. Big fan of your content...It has helped me learn Foundy alot. I was wondering if you know of a way to use imported content in multiple worlds?
Yes! You can store content in a compendium that is part of a module you install in both worlds. I don't have a video on this yet but there's a guide you can follow here: www.reddit.com/r/FoundryVTT/comments/fvw3c7/how_to_create_a_tiny_module_for_shared_content/

can players still use their dnd beyond sheets to roll and function within FVTT like you could with VTTAssets?
Is Iconizer still available?

Then, with the right permissions, they should be able to import their own characters as well if they need to update after a level up or you can take care of it yourself :).
the correct link for mr primate's fork is: github.com/MrPrimate/vtta-iconizer/releases
in the YT description it's a direct link to the json file, which makes it impossible to copy and paste into foundry.
Sorry about that. I didn't realize RUclips was going to truncate and modify the URL. I've adjusted the link and provided a bit of instruction on what to copy now. Hopefully that helps!
Anyone you could do a 2022 Best modules to have video..love your videos but so lost on which Foundry mods to grab.
Hello, I couldn't find iconizer but I found tokenizer made by MrPrimate which i think is basically the same thing right?
Tokenizer will help you create tokens (and is a great module) but Iconizer is a different thing. Mr. Primate has also made a new version of the Iconizer module that you can install by pasting this into your 'Manifest URL' field in the module installer (at the bottom): github.com/mrprimate/vtta-iconizer/releases/download/latest/module.json
Hopefully that helps! I'm sorry I got to this so late!

Is there a way to get the maps n such from Beyond over to Foundry yet?

Yes, this is a known issue, it's a bit more complicated to get them in via bulk imports, but will be coming.

I can't remember exactly when it changed but it is in the module now if you're a Patreon subscriber at at least the Undying tier level. I hope that helps!
I'm exhausted by all these patreon siphons. Can people just sell software anymore?
Likewise with modules being the answer for everything. We had a solution, with a patreon paywall, and now that's gone, and you have to use this new patron paywall.
@@Tielc Yep, and it's complicated. It took a 15 minute video to explain it
I mean, you could just manually create the monsters, items, characters, etc in Foundry yourself. These are primarily devs doing this on the side because they like using Foundry. No one is getting rich on their Patreon for Foundry modules. At least Foundry itself is a one time purchase.

*EDIT: The two patreons being the creator of FoundryVTT and Mr.Primate?
For full clarity:
There's no requirement to sub to Foundry VTT at all on Patreon. For DnDBeyond importing if you only need character import you can do that for free. If you're looking to do monster importing etc. then you will need to subscribe on Patreon for at least one month :).
17.5 EUR for month to import mobs? Seems to much. Can we pay one time and import all beyond monster into a compendium?
You don't have to go for the most expensive option to import monsters. It's available at all tiers. Only the highest tier can import all monsters at once though. That should change by the end of the month though as Mr. Primate wants to give that ability to all patrons. And you definitely can pay, import everything, and then stop. You would need to resubscribe if you wanted to reimport creatures as the parsing gets fully ironed out though.
@@EncounterLibrary thank you so much, really appreciated. You were so clear
After I installed the importer when I went into the world config settings it never gave me an option to activate the modules dependencies. Now I can’t figure out why the importer won’t work. Can anyone help me out?

Hey Jeff, sorry to get back to you so late, it's been a crazy week. My first guess would be to uninstall the module and start fresh and see if the issue is still occurring. If it is I would jump into Mr. Primate's discord and file a bug report because I haven't seen anyone else reporting that issue.
Just once I want to see a module for monster tokens that doesn't use patreon.
The Tokenizer works without any limitiations. And as long as there is no API for DNDBeyond, the dev of the Module will have to run a Server in order to do the conversions and keep ddb from blocking it, this has costs associated with it unfortunately :(
@ That's unfortunate, I'll just have to upload them the old fashion way.

Anyone willing to add me to their campaign and share their dnd beyond books? I bought all physical and now realize that you don't get beyond with it 😢 just found out about dnd beyond as we are trying to go digital with Covid. Regretting all my physical books now
I never gave anyone my cookies anyway...
It's pretty good, especially now.
Here we go:
The only thing that is feature gated currently is monster import.
@@EncounterLibrary To a certain extent I agree with you, however I take issue with several things:
$4 a month at the lowest tier is already pretty steep for something like this.
