Tysm for continuing to post more content on my fav game. You have shed so much light on how much content was sadly taken out of the game. The game went through development hell, but i have to say, it was still such a treasure of a game imo. Hopefully someday they can remaster it, and give it the care, and attention it rightfully deserved. Tyty!
Every cut feature means also the cut episode Noctis ending, and once that's in I no longer enjoy the game. Nier Gestalt/Replicant is one of my favourite games of all time, Nier Replicant remake is almost the same game except the music is worse and the always intended to be canon original ending is inserted from the book into the game, and now I hate it. Limitations breed creativity in working around them, and some things are better off cut.
@@cl0udyun520 Remaster with the weapons in their original forms would be nice, they sort of dumbed down the look on the final release... and I still want that hammer that Gladio was wielding in the Versus trailer and E3 2013 trailer lol
Thank you. In ver 1.0 under the sea by Caem there is a huge wall of sand but was removed in later versions. Maybe it was to contain the whale and keep it from getting too close to shore? Great stuff.
The debug menu also has a "Whale Jump" option in it somewhere, but as far as Ive tested it simply teleports you to Altissia and does nothing else, so its probably a remnant of that custcene!
@@LuthusNoxFleuret The interesting part is that it seems to still be tied to in-game progress somewhat, as using that option before "unlocking" Altissia in its chapter would simply teleport you to nowhere according to the guy who tested it before me, so thats weird.
I can see why they cut this, it's lot of time waiting and not playing, they really should have realised that drawback for the vehicles earlier in development.
Thank you SO much for this, it’s incredible to know how time and budget constraints affected the game and it took SO many patches to implement PARTS OF things they originally planned. I was wondering if you have already discovered (or plan to cover) the cable car that gets SUPER far (and gets twisted at one end and buries to the ground), the desert area in one of the first XV trailers, a zone that had like a red overlay and creatures in the sky (that can be seen in niflheim) that looked like those huge metal clumps out of bounds) and the closed tunnel/underground tunnel that can be found out of bounds. Sorry if it’s confusing to read and thanks SO much for all the content you create and share!
I think the desert area was supposed to be Cartanica, which they cut most of it. If you go out of bounds the whole area is fleshed out, so much detail just to only see looking out of the train windows. Plus, Cindy's tow truck is in Cartanica, which is funny because you never drive there, and how would Cindy get her truck there when the train tracks literally go into the ocean
I think they never should have made the Kingsglaive movie lol I liked it and thought it was cool but even without it, it would have saved budget and time to develop other parts of the game and for a big game with hundreds of designers/artists it was weird when the weapons they made looked dumbed down, repeated designs and some got cut(even though it was in the pre-release trailers) and they couldn't make more varied armaments for the bros to use? 😅 No wonder Square execs were breathing down Tabata's neck.
Cool showcase, I'm ultimately quite happy with the feature we ended up getting but I do wish we could've gone to Angelguard. There was a cool fight with Bahamut in brotherhood that would've been a nice training session for Noct & the boys, and of course it would've been nice to unlock him as a summon even if it was only in NG+.
^ This, just copy-pasting the bossfight from Comrades would have made the boat at least somewhat interesting with a little prize for exploration, outside of just an expansion on fishing (which was not really needed IMO), and give a little reward for it, maybe the Kingsglaive outfit for Noct, or the Versus XIII outfit as a nice nod to the original story, which was already in the game files anyway... They either did not think this through or they really had to cut that idea aswell, which sucks and shows how Square Enix just does not care, not even about their most selling franchise. They did care about XVI though, funny enough.
Was there originally a purpose to being able to travel to Angelgard Island? I know the island is fully rendered AND has the crystalline sword shrine there, complete with particle effect animations to show it was made for viewing purposes. But was there supposed to be like a cutscene you got htere, or a sidequest you did there?
I wonder if they programmed driving to/from Angelgard for when Noctis wakes up during the World of Ruin, to drive the boat to Galdin Quay. Are you able to load the World of Ruin map, maybe you can drive the boat to Altissia (I'm pretty sure Altissia isn't loaded in when the world of ruin map is active. I used the armiger glitch back in the day, and I remember if you went far enough west from the normal bounds the sun came out and the area looked normal. Well, except for missing assets, like dungeon entrances, oh and missing Lestallum too.)
this whale looks really alike with one of the side quest in the game. It was about a fake god of the sea, which was surrounded by birds is it the same ? I did this quest a long time ago so I am maybe wrong but they look really alike to me
I platinumed this game 5 months after its release and wish I hadn't. The new stuff added in Royal Edition had me interested in a replay but even now; knowing how much more there is to do, I can't go back to this game.
Ok thats all I have prepared for now.

seeing 1:30 has me like media1.tenor.com/m/7pXIzb8f2rUAAAAd/minor-spelling-mistake.gif
Great job!!!
thank you this is huge

Tyty!
i know this will never happen but imagine a ffxv remake where everything that was supposed to be in the base game was added
How does it feel to be the 9999999999999999999999999th person to say something like that under a cut feature vid of FFXV?

It doesn't need a remake. Maybe a remaster upgrade to PS5 and a part 2 where all the canceled DLCs happen!!!
Someone, please write some letters to SE and tell them to do it! If they really love to earn fans money and respect 💰💸 😌 !!!!

I like how it's called Mikage island instead of Angelgard in the boat menu since it's the original Japanese name.
Thank you for this awesome content, Luthus!
stuff like this makes me so happy and so sad this was supposed to be the best final fantasy and they just gave up when they were 80% of the way done.
they mustve had cut things with a goddamn axe for 1.0 to get shipped on time lol.

Its exactly that! It won't work due to them disabling everything related to it.

I can’t believe they scrapped a possibility to explore the water areas from the game. Unbelievable. 😭

@@cthasarrived1I read about some leak regarding that area you were supposed to drive on it alone right after Altissia and EVERYONE IS SAD..

didn't find anything in the files that would reveal the purpose of going there but that doesn't mean they didn't plan anything
Was there ever a Game with so many Cut Stuff over the Year's?
😅

I'm surprised you can go this far out in the sea
Doing Armiger Glitch and going to Angelgard gets you an infinite loading screen in version 1.0
woaa thats so cool!!!
amazing
