You know what I'm surprised no one has been making some really cool looking masks for this virus issue. So many people have been banging on about not wearing the masks when really they should be doing the opposite, producing some really cool looking masks for fun. Whole face masks, half masks and so on, all that comply for their own safety but also to have fun. I was expecting to see people wearing masks they had made that mimic art or space sci fi movies but oddly enough yours is the first I've seen. Well done more people should embrace the concept, produce their own masks, especially the youths I'm most disappointed with their lack of imagination.
I love the mask. You could use non woven polypropylene for the black fabric pieces on the jaw and nose. With a good seal around the edge, you'd end up with a functional "N95" mask. 👍
The mask is awesome and the process doesn't seem overly hard to create however, I don't fully understand the whole process of getting contrast in the mask! What are the tools you use to get the deep indentations again?
I know this video is a bit old but I wanted to ask, do you think this template would work with foam as well? Leather is a too much for me to work with, lmao

I'm a knife maker and I'm would like to have one but as a clown robotic clown skull to put 3m filters in an ware why I sand my handle scales if you or someone else can help it would be a good video ☺️
Suggestion: After you sketch out your tooling lines on the mask, flip it over so the flesh side is up. Lay strips of light stick masking tape across the mask making a "mat" of sorts. When you flip it over, wet the leather, and start tooling the masking tape will prevent the leather from loosing the initial shape you cut out.
Exactly why I was looking for a tutorial how to make a mask like this. I'm so done with people not keeping their distance from me. Hopefully this'll scare them off
Do the tooling patterns come with the template so we can just use that to transfer using a scribe or something? I'd like to buy the pattern, but I could never draw the teeth and all the stuff that makes it look cool myself.
Would be cool to cut pieces to match and lay over the “metal parts” and use actual rivets to give it a more 3d and realistic look. If that make sense. Lol

As a person who works with foam, it would work. You could shape it nicely too with a heat gun

It's not cardboard mate, it's leather. 0:56 he says that he uses vegetable tanned leather, hope this helps mate.
