Dallas has really just been my therapy. For like a decade. His talent and angelic voice just. How can I resonate with each fucking song so deeply. Cant get that with any other artist and listening to music is literally all I do.
I first heard him singing "this could be anywhere in the world" with another band he plays in, Alexisonfire, at warped tour way back when. I can confirm he sounds great live, so much so I've been following his music ever since.
He’s in that top tier special caliber of artists. The kind where he can make his own songs (as well as other people’s songs) take on a whole new feel, vibe, and meaning, with just his voice as an instrument and uses the guitar to compliment it.
All those years this beast of an artist was hidden in a project called Alexisonfire. I celebrate Dallas decided to continue by himself he made me love rock music again, and I love Alexisonfire don't missunderstand me. But I love 100 times more City and Colour.
@christ is the key to salvation the success, where did they successed? like in Canada ha ha, here in Europe nobody knows AOF. But Dallas had a sold out in Paris already. If you cannot understand what I'm saying, then you don't know the diference between 3 chords songs and the chromatic, melodic evolution above the music of city and colour.
@christ is the key to salvation When will you start to talk about music properly? You said blah blah blah had no talk about grades, intervalic, harmony, scales, modes, notes. Tell me in music language why AOF is way better than City and Colour. I will start here with the real argument, the range of voice of Dallas in City and Colour is fully used, all the way he is capable, because he is harmonicly using the whole chromatic scale in his songs, thus with the clever use of a capo on his “other ways” tunned guitar, making him an original guitar player in the world, nobody is doing in the acoustic guitar what Dallas is doing in City and Colour actually. While in AOF he just plays the same scale in the same range, just like his voice never doing even a falsetto there, standard or drop D tunning in guitar a very common affination. So in variety, comparing City and Colour with AOF is like comparing a Cirque du Soleil with Puddles Pitty Party. LOL
Man shut up if you know so much about music theory then where's your music? You're just throwing a word salad of basic music terms out there that you probably don't even understand because if you did you'd realise the arrangements of AOF are more complex and have way more depth to them!! And that's coming from someone who loved C&C first 2 and a bit albums.. then he sold out and started making boring generic pop tunes..
@@fredjenner the same for you, where is your music? Talk about that complexity of arrangements, I read you, you said I talk about “basic”, so where is your basic talk? The same guy making coments from 2 diferent youtube acounts ha ha pathetic ha ha ha LMFAO.

A pill for loneliness is awesome there's so much going on it's produced with dreamy/cinematic sounds which I vibe to, but would love to hear an Acoustic version of the album.

it's absurd how precise Dallas' voice control is. This man is incredible.
