Making The Whirlpool Galaxy Pop! First time Imaging in HaRGB

  • With galaxy season in full swing and a clear night of weather I’ve been out with the telescope again!
    Join me in this video as I try capturing the Whirlpool Galaxy (M51), but this time using a new technique (HaRGB) and a my new mono camera!

    Dont like purple blobs in galaxy images, personally. Lots of people do it though and yours looks about the best ive seen very nice job.

      I tend to agree tbh. I was a little on the fence about it but figured it’s worth experimenting with. It’s very easy to over process the image and bump the saturation too far. Hopefully I stayed on the right side!

      @@thatastrochap definitely. Also when i said blobs, that was more based on my expectations and not your actual image. You might even have changed my mind, now ive seen it done "properly" :)
