Glad to hear The Legend is running so well again! I rode this when it first opened with the original Gerstlauer trains and it was a top wooden coaster in the world. At night this ride was pitch black in the forest. Rode it again then The Voyage first opened and it had the PTCs on it, but it had lost a step.
Great Tour and Park review! Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is a great park. Especially with a lot of people and coaster enthusiasts ranking this theme park!
Very long lines is the norm at Holiday World. It looks like you might have actually hit it on a light day. 1-2 hour waits for everything is what I'm used to there.
@@camdenhochgesang6554 From what I hear, attendance has exploded there the last few years. I did hear that crowds would be light 2019 and back, but I didn't go until 2020. My weekdays weren't as busy as Saturdays, but still far busier than most parks I go to.
I've been wanting to come to this park for years. The only reason I haven't yet is because I am waiting for them to put something where Pilgrims Plunge and Hyena Falls used to sit but they're taking way too long to the point where I'll probably just say "Screw It" and go.
Interesting comparisons. Both are in the middle of nowhere, yet they both draw massive crowds every day and have very long lines. Voyage > Phoenix, but both are so great. Thunderbird > Impulse. I haven't been on Flying Turns yet, but I'd imagine that I'll actually take it & Twister over Raven & Legend. Holiday World's water coasters > Knoebel's flat rides. I think Holiday World is winning for me.
I only rode it one day, three times. Two of them...it was VERY smooth for a woodie. It was brand new at the time though. The third ride, it jackhammered violently on the return trip. So, maybe it varies.
My last visit was in late July last year. In the afternoon, it was riding quite rough on both of my rides. But a few hours later at night, it was so smooth, one of the smoothest wooden coaster experiences I've ever had. It rode so much different in just a few hours.
@@PeteC75 it is fine the first few times but if you ride it back to back over and over it’s gonna start to hurt. I think currently legend is the smoothest coaster, but the helix you get thrown into the side
I never understand how people can call it rough. In terms of overall experience it’s just an aggressive mean coaster by nature, but I would never call it rough. Rather, I find it quite smooth as far as wood coasters go.
@@PeteC75 I rode it back row first time and it was almost unbearable. Second and last time I rode it in the middle and it was slightly smoother. The other two wooden roller coaster at holiday world were also very rough. I’ve ridden over 150 coasters so I feel like I have a pretty good idea what is rough and what isn’t. Maybe I just went on a bad day. The park closed at 7pm the day I went so I wasn’t able to get any night rides.
This is a park I definitely would love to visit for the first time!

Holiday World easy. Just got to Knoebles last week and I feel it is seriously overrated.
Raven is way better than legend. Legend is super super rough
