Setting up my first planted aquarium this week. Have had terrariums and vivariums in the past. You are so helpful and i just wanted to say thank you for making me more confident and knowledgeable about this topic. Seems easy now. You rock dude
I like the way you’ve integrated your tanks into your house. The plants look great. I also like how you stained the racks, most people seem to paint them black.
Wow awesome job covering so many details. I went years with almost zero algae then got some nasty stuff from some plants I bought. Gonna try these tips outs Thanks!
I have a 29g & have been fighting it for almost 3 weeks!!! I have a 20g hex with shrimp & I can't grow algae in it almost at all! >.< The 20g has been running longer. I actually finally took most my plants out after 3 days in a row of 20-30% water change & got as much off of it as I could. I also added a fine air-stone and have a bit of flow all around my tank now. Result in this week? I had hair algae growing on most of my plants & choking them out like weeds in my lawn... I now have the hair algae dying & making my water look like crap, but, I have new bright green growth on many of my plants... Summary? My tank is close to getting in balance.
I need help! Had to get a new light for my 25 gallon planted aquarium.Purchased Nicrew13W full spectrum light well now everything is coated in green algae even the plants. Light has been sitting on aquarium cover so there is no way to raise it like you suggested. I have cut back on the time and I did a water change. What do you suggest for the correct light? Love your videos. Thank you.
I find green hair algae is pretty easy to remove by hand. I was told it’s because you have too much iron in the water. I haven’t used any plant fertiliser for at least 6-8 weeks. I have at least 20 different types of plants and some pieces of driftwood. My green hair algae only seems to grow on my subwassertang moss close to the top where the light is, and only in one area, I just remove it by hand.
My power went out when I was on vacation. My house sitter did her best to reset my lights but managed to put one of them on full power for 12 hours. Needless to say this tank was full and I mean full of green hair algae when I got back. Been pulling it out ever since and yes the driftwood is like a magnet. Lol. I’m not mad at her she did her best.
I had them in one of my tanks, and lights were very low for a month or so, and they completely vanished, and plants survived and now i only have some spot algaes that are actually good looking on the rocks, and eazy to clean from the glass.
Tbh, i like green hair a lot more than the black stuff growing in my 40-gallon. Between all the snales plants and shrimp, a bit of green hair algae is apl I'm getting in my 29 shrimp tank.
Can a new tank syndrome cause lots of floating particles, everything else seems to be going ok but a little brown hair algae stuff on plants, i think thats the new tank syndrome? BUT i have so many floating particles, so many, water is real clear apart from them, ive tried floss and everything, im pulling my hair out.
Oh man, now I'm really confused 🤔 I thought I had hair algae but it's white and now I'm seeing it's green on You tube videos. So what do I have?? Helppppp?
Having every parameter in check, even high end lighting and co2 system. Cleaning Everyday, shit keeps coming back, my aquarium is even more planted than yours. Think a lot are just pouring algicide or something, it's impossible to get rid of it
I gave up watching , but did you ever mention a few days of blackout ? it goes soft and will be eaten pretty fast.. most other plants can survive with a black out schedule hair algae can not

Very impressive the 55-gallon super green healthy plants I have BBA it is choking the life out of my plants. Hopefully, I will find a remedy soon

thank you, thank you, thank you - finally a channel does not automatically try to sell chemicals for absolutely every issue ....
I like the wall of ten gallons,It reminds me of going to a club and they have a wall of old tv's playing 80's video's.
How do you get rid of cyanobacteria without risking your plants and fish? Thank you so much!
The light feeds on nutrients?

I tend to get this algae whenever I do a major trim on the plants.
Same here!

Other than having fish in the tank and lighting do you do fertz or just ha e organic soil woth a sand cap ?
Yeah it’s just soil capped with sand. Liquid ferts sometimes

The particles have to be coming from something. Not new tank syndrome
@@PalmerAquatics Would the particles be because the sand wasnt washed enough? its not cloudy just LOTS of particles and my Corys make it worse lol
I love that this guy tells the truth about plecos. Plecos are the roach of aquariums. Please don’t unload your pleco in the waters of Florida.
Oh man, now I'm really confused 🤔 I thought I had hair algae but it's white and now I'm seeing it's green on You tube videos. So what do I have?? Helppppp?
Sounds like a bacteria slime

My mystery snails like to eat it 😬
Hell yeah bro!!!
What’s good bro?!
Ain't no 4ft light that's 18$ anymore dude...
8 months after your comment and you can literally get a 4ft LED from Walmart for $14.77 😂
No way to clean that stuff off the plants, the stuff is a slimy mess and doesn't come off. I'm about to just throw all plants out.
You have no guppy? Shame shame!
We need a new house tour update video!!!!!
