    Just what we need, people making and designing axes that use them. Nice demonstration of competence.

    Would thinning out the axe handle cause any form of catastrophic failure in the elm handle? While I like the axe heads and the geometry of your handles, they look too thick for my hands. Would thinning the handles out say... 5mm on all sides cause the elm handle to snap faster than a hickory handle?

    This is a fine axe,no doubt. But this is allso a fresh wood in this clip. And wood like this fresh you can cut even with a knife for butter :)

    I have a Gransfor Burk small forest axe. How do these compare to it chopping.

    • @zombiefighterof1987
      @zombiefighterof1987 7 лет назад

      Seahawk.Customs.Pc Gransfors is inferior due to the thinner bit profile when it comea to soft woods.

    Fajnie fajnie bo drewno osika chyba jest miękkie. Siekierka ma płytki klin, fajnie. Ale spróbuj na sękach jodły albo świerka - zobaczymy czy ostrze wytrzyma, czy się nie wyszczerbi. Pozdrowki!

    All I’m going to say is this, there’s nothing wrong with buying a very expensive axe. But, if you can sharpen an axe (I bet you that you could with under $50 in equipment), there’s no need to spend 10 times as much. Council tool make great axes if you touch them up a bit. Hults Bruk, hultsafors, and grandfors Bruk make medium to high quality axes for about $200 or less, all of them are fantastic. If you can put in the work, a vintage axe head can be the best axe you have ever used. Old steel is miles better than most steels we have today because of the higher carbon content in it as it aged.

      Does that mean, that all carbon steels, on axes or knives, become better as the time pass? Thanks in advance

      filthy animal it is 10 times worst than this, you won’t cut through 3-4 inches sticks so swiftly, probably need at least a swing more. Is it worth 500 ? Hell no if you’re not a hardcore chopper I guess, if you do this all day you’re saving on probably millions of swings in your career. I have a fiskars too tho, they’re nice, the norden 10.
