I love Mick Mars because he's a musician's musician. A true craftsman who would probably be just as happy playing his guitar on his couch as well as in front of 20,000 people.
Mick is such a great musician. He is what makes the whole thing work. His tone and sense of rhythm is just solid as a rock. It gives the others room to move.
Mick is so underrated.. He’s quiet and stand offish but my God the old man should have been so much BIGGER!
Absolutely! So underrated, he carried the Crue's sound on his shoulders.
When u think “bigger” look no further than Mick. There’s nothing bigger
I don't know who is underrating him? But he is a legendary guitar player to me and to many other guitar players that I know!🤘
Hay man ruclips.net/video/uadE5QE5gwk/видео.html
What should be done for him? He was the guitarist for one of the most popular rock bands of all time. Is respected by pretty much everyone in the music industry. He has a net worth of millions and millions of dollars. I’m not sure what more could be done for him. Andy LaRoque from King Diamond is probably the most underrated guitarist that I know of.
"If you can go out of the arena and hum the solo, sing the solo, remember the solo....then you've done your job right" - Mick Mars, the legend! Mick, I have been humming, singing and remembering your songs for the last 35 years!! Motley Crue rule!! 🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘🖤🤘
The wonderful Mick Mars, SUCH an important part of Motley.
yeah! so right!!
Isn't Mick Mars just the cats ass! I hope he is O.K. considering his medical issues with spondy? Real back pain caused by spondy, or any chronic pain for that matter, Sucks!!! And he still brought his A-Game, and ROCKED!!! Amazing IMO!
Is the only muscician in that band
@@eldredjoyner5285 hes probably on enough pain killers to kill a fucking horse!!!
He recently did a clip for Ernie Ball's "String Theory" that is just great, and he talks about upcoming solo projects. He seems like he's doing ok.
Mick is the drivin force behind the crue..........what a virtuoso guitarist.........luv ya Mick.............keep em in line......
Virtuoso? You gotta be fucking kidding me. Hes mediocre at best.
Coy Leigh Mick’s solos and riffs aren’t virtuosic, they’re iconic.
Best mick comment ever bro and tottaly agree
@@coyleigh2860 Let him play along side Richie Kotzen or Paul Gilbert. That would be fun. lol
Yip well said..
Mick is such a soft spoken guy and he has one of the nastiest, aggressive guitar tones and style. The Crüe ain't the Crüe without him.
I love the way Mick talks
Yeah gracious he speaks in a truth of tone trusive tone
I love mick! He’s such an alien and the heart behind the sound of the crue! He’s so raw and quiet he lets his music speak for him. I strive to be a mick Mars some day.
Mick's mantra about guitar solos is spot on. Dude is all about the song. Love it!
Kickstart is my favorite Crue song. I was 8 years old when the video came on MTV and I still remember my babysitter, a 15 year old girl, freaking out when the VJ announced the video. Her reaction to the music and the thrill of seeing something like Motley Crue in those days made something click. We started jumping around the room and I was never the same.
These are the moments 👌
J R That’s a cool story, reminded me of many olds times with my Hot babysitters.
@Steve Hunt Yeah haha! She was super cute and had that 80's teased up hair thing going. She had the Kelly Kapowski thing happening. She would invite her friend over and they'd pull shit like putting a ton of gel in my hair and show me how to cut up jeans like in the Def Leppard video, which is cringingly bad now but back then was the shit! Makes me wanna jump on a BMX and get the fuck outta here
It's funny, when I was a kid, Motley Crue used to scare me because of their look and sound. And I used to be most scared of Mick Mars lmao! And now, here it is decades later and I realize Mick was actually the LEAST scary!
5:20
I’ve never been a fan of MC but Mick Mars speaks so much truth here. Take note, kids.
JASON VOORHEES That whole style of music just isn’t for me. I love Mick Mars, though. He’s great.
How in the world could you have a different taste in music than others
What would strip clubs do without this album?
You deserve more thumbs up for that factual statement.
Go out of business
Girls Girls Girls?
They'd play other music about strippers. Easy
@Robin Taylor Dr Feelgood would be a great stripclub song
"Hey, what you guys think about this?"
And we got one of the most badass intro-riffs EVER.
THANK YOU, MICK MARS!
..Dr. Feelgood is a master piece
james williams agreed total killer
It's a great album easily they're most consistent although it sounds a little too polished production wise to me
Dr Feelgood was the soundtrack to my senior year of college. And Shout at the Devil was the soundtrack to my freshman year of high school. So yeah, Motley was there throughout!
@@Beermaker2000 damn bro, how long did it take you to graduate? Haha jk
July 4th 1990, Columbus, OH Dr Feelgood tour. Some of the best memories of my life! Just graduated High School one month earlier, had a girl I was really into with me and we met friends at Legend Valley the night before in the parking lot, and partied all damn night! Sunny, and 90+ degrees the day of the show, was so hung over I could barely stand up, but made it up to the mosh pit with my girl. They were spraying water on us, it got muddy, and we had a blast! I got sunburned, and my ears rang for days, but I'd go back and do it all over again if I could! What a show!
fuck yeh. how old were you bro
That’s awesome
I totally agree with Mick! I find myself humming or whistling guitar solos all the time. The solos that are not to crazy (angry bee) but really memorable melodically.
So true
Sixx is just an awesome speaker. I wish there was an audiobook of his book with him speaking. Real rock n roll so much influence
Sixx is a moron. He talks to impress himself. He's verbal sewage.
@@roxannemoser so, you chose to watch this because........?
Omg right? I could listen to Nikki Sixx read the damn phone book.....and I would LOVE every single moment!!😎😎😎😎
Maybe he narrated his book? I'd check that Audible site
He narrated his book the heroin diaries on audible and its Fantastic
A simple one note bend became an intro to a phenomenal song Thank You Mick
*I LOVE YOU, MICK* Innovation will ALWAYS stand the test of time ❤️❤️❤️ Almost teared up when he was talking.
Dr. Feelgood is without question the Crue’s best album. Aerosmith (also sober in 1989) also recorded one of their best albums Pump at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, where Dr. Feelgood was also recorded. No wonder Steven Tyler sang at the beginning of one of my FAV tunes “Slice Of Your Pie”.
not to me it isn't. Shout was the true Crue for me
4:21 «Ok...I'll dot that» Mick Mars, what a chill guy !
One of the best albums of the 80's.. It's up there with Slippery When Wet, Appetite for Destruction and Flesh and Blood.
Bon Jovi and Poison suck fucking ass dude.
Motley was on another fucking caliber.
@@dylanjammes1494 280 million people disagree with you! lol we all love what we love.
@@Dakahrii everyone's entitled to their opinion! I hate Bon Jovi so lol.
@@dylanjammes1494 True the hell THAT! 🤘👍
Bon jovi????wtf
Fwiw... Kickstart My Heart is my absolute favorite Crue song. Makes me want to tear up the roads in a classic muscle car.
While Motley isn't my favourite all time bands, I think Kickstart is one of the greatest rock songs of all time. I saw Crue in 2005 and the greatest moment was near the end when they did Kickstart and the arena just became alive like it was the last song we'd ever hear.
@@Doin I saw them in '99 or 2000 and it was the same. When Kickstart started the whole place was set on fire! Really awesome to see and experience.
@@carriedoyne7362 I saw them again in 2013 supporting KISS. I have to say that it didn't have the same magic it did the first time. You'd think it was an instrumental with Vince not really enunciating the lyrics.
I can’t think of another band where the guitarist is the most underrated member. And he’s easily the most talented of all of them.
I can't either. He's like their master splinter
As a guitar player, Micks words about Eric and B.B. King resonate so damn much.
Mick Mars is a class act.
Well put Rufus you hit it right on the money my man
A class act is a perfect choice of words man
Mick Mars the one note you wrote like BBKing
Is in Lowder than hell .....
The crowd is blown away its so loud
A lot of people think that the best parts of being a rock star is Money, Drugs, and Groupies (not necessarily in that order). But honestly I think this is the phase you want to be in. The phase where you’ve grown beyond all that and just there to make music.
I’ve seen Crue many times in concert and they always brought it 120%!! There talent and innovation are second to none!!! One of or the best rock band in history!!!!
Kickstart my heart is one of the greatest motley Crüe and rock songs!
Mick Mars is so great that Iron Maiden puts him on every album cover.
Lol
Best comment ever on RUclips !
Man. Hard to believe Mick is only 89 here, but he's still an absolute badass. Amazing.
Mick is just mick doesn’t try to act out for attention he just does himself
I was 13 and bought dr.feelgood because of mick mars!! He Made this album perfect!!!
I love Mick & Tommy reminds me of my favorite Uncle. I love this band and have had since the 80's. May all stay safe with this Covid & may all satay well beyond. Please believe that the blues riffs Mick brought on that it changed the music & made it more desirable!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hearing the whole band go with it was an amazing time to listen. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mick is a great guitarist. Sometimes he doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves but i think he seems a really cool dude :)
"Helicopter flying lessons..." Lol
ao el only t-bone would come out with something as wacky as that
@@s0phiaamber18 yup
Mick will always be bigger in my heart!!!!
Dr. Feelgood takes me straight back to 8th grade, and hearing Kickstart My Heart still gives me goosebumps
Mick doesn't get any respect, whatsoever. I swear I'm Mick's only fan! LOL!
Mick's gotta be the most underrated guitarist in Metal.
NailsInYourCoffin ... Mick was easily the best musician in the group
Mick is easily one of the greatest guitar players. So under rated
My Opinion he may not be the greatest, but the guy is on his own level. He's one of the greatest underrated guitarists.
Mick has a great guitar tone.
Mick enjoys being Mick. He's the best unsung hero in rock. Very humbled and honest. He brought good taste along with his chops in his 30's when the rest of the band we're punk kids wanting to make a scene and entertain. Mick is about the music 100% and has always brought the rest of the band back to Earth.
Mr. Mick Mars is a living legend. What a great musician. Love the Marsman. 🤘🏻
One of my favorite albums of all time, by any artist.
Kickstart my heart made me fall in love with music. Now I want to be a musician myself, because the first time I heard that song, I realized what music could be, and it changed my life
I'm very humbled to say I'm loving Crue all over again, I dunno man Netflix movie the dirt , sixx your honesty about herion, and the way you have helped our generation get over blaming others for our mistakes and fuck let's face it I have yet to see anyone in our generation have non dysfunctional relationship s or music that wasn't medicine
But here I sit almost 50 and I have 67 days clean from BLK today and yeah thanks , love and appreciation to all four of u for all you've been to this fan..
Mick is great because he thinks more like Jimmy Page instead of like Malmsteen. He's a player who chooses his notes to serve the song instead of to show his technical skill off. A good guitarist can say more in a couple well chosen notes than any shredder could say in a flurry of arpeggios . He appreciates BB King and that says a lot
Still own my Dr. Feelgood tape that I bought the year I graduated high school way back in 91, Now I play it again in my recently purchased 86 Corvette. No bloody way am I getting rid of my factory cassette player because driving that car listening to kick start my heart is fricken awesome and makes me feel young again. Have to love Motley Crue
Dr. Feelgood is one of the BEST pound for pound albums of all time. Every single song on that record just kicks so much ass( except for time for change) lol
Mick Mars magician of guitar
They are back naming new music!!! Happy
30 anniversary to Girls XXX
These guys are like four individual keys for the same lock and if you don't put them all in there at the same time that lock ain't going to open, that is Motley Crue. You cannot replace any of them no matter who it's with, they all make the same sound in different ways and no one else can do it like those four together. Long live the Crüe 🤘
Even though Vince is performing in Yiddish these days he's still unreplaceable
These guys don't have diseases. It what everyone is got get eventually. It's called getting old. They made great music. Mick Mars is a legend.
Getting old? Mick was diagnosed with Ankylosing spondylitis at the age of 17, thats not old in my opinion.
Yeah he has a spinal condition as said above me. That condition compresses his spine to mAke him quite a few inches shorter than what he was back in high school. This disease has been causing him extreme pain for 30+ years. It has nothing to with getting old.
Tommy has hep c
@@502skater502 .... Vince has stage 3 alcoholism......and lost his neck under his chins!!😬
Do Bo I have AS too. It’s quite a painful disease,
I love Mick so much, I literally can’t
Their best album, IMO... I think Mick was the real pro behind the Crue, and Nikki was the creative brain. Tommy plays like an energized Phil Rudd with power and clarity and Vince was the only front man that could’ve worked. That’s my take. Great band. Great mystique.
Holy fuck balls! N sixxxx has aged beautifully omfg
Drums drive guitar riffs to life. That's where all rock songs worth listening to are made.
My first Concert was DR Feelgood. It was in Philadelphia and it snowed that night. They opened with Kickstart My Heart and closed with Jailhouse Rock with Sebastian Bach, Snake, and Tom Keifer,. It was EPIC. To this day best concert ever. Warrant opened for them.
Tom Keifer is great. I'm so sorry you missed out on a lit of great concerts. My first was Ted Nugent, Def Leppard. That was before Mutt Lange got a hold of Def and they still had Pete Willis. Phil Collen hadn't joined yet. They were terrible and were booed off stage.
Mick Mars is such a real and so talented down to earth guy, and a real guitar hero, I’m seriously thinking in make me a tattoo of him just like Nikki did.
Mick Mars is an Awesome musician and Guitar player he plays awesome guitar Riffs on all their songs love Motley Crue forever
Wow.... lol... this is the most I ever heard Mick talk in 35 years!
Great words from Mick!!
Mick is so fucking cool😍🤘
Nikki Sixx wondering about where he got the title "Kickstart My Heart"....like REALLY Nikki? You don't think that MAYBE it had to do with the fact that you LITERALLY had to have your heart kickstarted when you OD'd? Kinda think maybe that's where you got it from my friend ;)
He has already admitted in an interview that it didn't exactly happen like that.
Bb king goes “baAaAaAng” and the crowd goes “waaaaah” 🤣
Saw BB King about 15 18 years ago he spent the whole time apologizing for sitting down on a stool after the show he signed every fucking autograph what a righteous man
"Kickstart my Heart" is my favorite by them. To think Nikki wasn't even going to show it to the band.
I know, right?! I'm horrified hearing Nikki talk about it 😂😂
"We're gonna wake up and make music until we can't see straight and go to sleep (and) we're going to do the same thing tomorrow for six months." - Tommy Lee
fucking great album ,my childhood
Micks the best!:-)
first song I learned on guitar 30 years ago....Dr Feelgood..... Bought the guitar player edition with nikki and mick on the cover and learned dr. feelgood on my dads acoustic.... great riffs lads
Dr. Feelgood is my least favorite song and album. But an acoustic version of Dr. Feelgood might be pretty cool.
My personal favorite band is AC⚡️DC but my all time favorite lead guitarist hands down is Mick Mars!
Simplicity is Beautiful
Mick is a BADASS.
I’am a big fan of Mick Mars, definitely an inspiration.
Mick Mars, KK Downing, these two should get more recognition and credit. Thanks for the upload, cheers from Morocco.
Just seen the movie perfect cast. 10/10
Aww what a bunch of sweet guys. 😊
Mick Mars is a god
I remember back in the day I loved theses guys they rocked ass and they were better than any rock band I've heard other than Metallica and I still till this day get my cd out and listen to these guys because they kicked butt!!
I bought shout in the 6th grade, and I loved them, but a few years later, I thought it was dumb. Looking back now, I think I was lying when I would say I didn’t like it, and I don’t know why I did it. That music was great fun, and I am glad they kept going after the lowest point. A real rock band for sure.
Micks amazing could listen to him all day
What a great band!
Without You is a cool tune with some really memorable slide work melodies by Mick Mars..
Didn't think they'd be so well spoken
Vince requires 3 whole chickens before each practice
With a lard smoothie to drink
Mick. You did your job. I am not a guitar player but I can hum most of you solo's. Damn sure gonna miss you guys when you call it quits.
Has Mick ever publicly acknowledged he got the Kickstart My Heart intro from Bad Motor Scooter by Montrose? Mick - you have a killer tone brah.
Yep that’s what I heard also.
Mick Mars is my favorite musician in history. He would shape the pocket with out overdoing it. He's The Riff Master.
Nikki’s is like “we’re a gang…. We made music” 😂
my favorite record from mötley crue is totaly dr.feelgood!!
Love this band
MM. 1313.
💗
Love your work
Good team work MC.
For all the haters “Fuck you”. No one can understand what Mick has been through with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Movement = Pain with this fucked up disease. It deforms your body, fuses your bones, bends you to its will and constantly tests your will to live. People say Mick is standoffish, not sociable, a loner. People can hurt you even when they don’t mean to. I will do almost anything not to sneeze. That simple natural action makes my body feel like I’m being hit by a truck. That Mick has accomplished what he has is a testament to his iron will. Please don’t judge but instead rejoice in the indomitable human spirit that this man exudes. Rock on Mick.
People will always love Motley. 😎
Where would they have wound up without Mick?
Nikki said at 1:57 that the band hung out, they were a "gang" again and they rehearsed a lot, but from what I read in other articles the band members recorded their parts separately and even Tommy Lee said in some article that the band didn't hung out or do anything to attract media attention. I'm confused, does anyone know more on this topic?
Great video, Google Play. Liked and subscribed.
Micks voice is so soothing like bruh
How did it suck? I love Motley with Vince but the John Corabi album rocks and is a great album! Mick Mars himself said it's his favorite album.
Hooligans Holiday was god awful.
Ha, ...Nikki, Tommy & Vince think they are the cool guys, but Mick is "THE" cool guy... Love them all, but Mick is the Man
